The Blackening is a 2022 American comedy horror film directed by Tim Story and written by Tracy Oliver and Dewayne Perkins, based on the 2018 short film of the same name by the comedy troupe 3Peat. It stars Perkins, Grace Byers, Jermaine Fowler, Melvin Gregg, X Mayo, Antoinette Robertson, Sinqua Walls, Jay Pharoah, and Yvonne Orji. The film follows a group of Black American friends staying at a cabin in the woods where they are targeted by a masked killer during Juneteenth.

This is actually one of my favorite movies of this year. Wasn’t expecting it to be as entertaining as it was. And I loved the chemistry of the actors. Made it 10x better

I know you wanted more Yvonne, but that was the joke between her and Jay Pharaoh about the reason why they killed Jada and Omar first was because their star was too high to pay their salary. If you noticed, they gave each other a look after saying it. 🤣 They world be the most well known in the cast, I do believe, though I don't know Yvonne because I haven't seen Insecure. 😬

No one mentioned how Officer White was in the Fresh Prince of Bel Air? He was the white guy who was dating/married Will’s aunt. In that episode Wills mom was against it at first.

This movie is a must watch it’s literally about what almost every black person thinks when it comes to horror and if we were in the situation, also I love they added “who’s all gonna be there” is our black way to determine if we going or not 😂😂 one wrong name and we will not make an appearance.
I saw this in theaters it was very funny. Glad you watched it for the channel. I definitely would have died on that Friends question though lol.

What's insane to me is he didn't even hide his voice and it's so obvious he's voicing the game board. That and to me it's obvious when the intense white guy backed up in the store when he showed up cause ain't nobody scared of that scrawny nerd lol.
Saw this in the cinema on Juneteenth weekend, and it was a true celebration of us! Plus, I was pleasantly surprised that (even if they didn't catch every inside joke) our White cousins mostly were able to enjoy it with us. Especially when there are so many manufactured culture wars nowadays. We were all united in communal laughter! 😅😅😅
I absolutely loved watching this movie with a full and excited crowd (Everyone sang the autopart song😭). This and Get Out were some of my best theater experiences with a big crowd.
The way I fully gasped and exploded out of my seat when I first watched and realized that Clifton was about to reveal he renegged in spades was crazy.
When the question "Name a Black Character who survived a horror movie." My first thought was Brandy from I still Know What You Did Last Summer too!
At the beginning of the video when you said you'd have to revoke your black card for not knowing how to play Spades, I cracked up at how that was the plot of the movie!
I was suspicious of Clifton from the beginning. Not because of the phone thing. But the huge one eyed white guy followed Shanika around the store, yet wasn't watching Clifton. Took note of that while being unsure why I was lol.
I had the best movie experience ever watching this in theaters. It was SOOO much fun.
Can't wait to watch it with you now. 😂❤✌🏼

Tucker & Dale is another good horror comedy. So is Housebound, The Final Girls, The Return of the Living Dead, Slither, Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead, and the sequel Wyrmwood: Apocalypse, and Nekrotronic, The Babysitter (1 & 2).

So basically when I went to New York we went to the movie movie theater and I watch the blackening it was great everybody in the movie theater was laughing it was amazing I loved it
