VillaMan: you're first on CZcams to compare 65 inch versions of C1 vs C2. Well done. Some CZcamsrs have the much smaller versions like 48 inch, which has lower brightness, so can't really compare with the mainstream models like 55 inch and over. Enjoyed seeing the comparisons.

@Tha_VillaMan Best comparison video of the C1 vs C2 yet!! Thanks!! Have to admit I didn’t see the differences at first. But if I paused the video and then looked at the two closely the C2 was much better in the dark shadowed areas. As well as a better looking white than the C1. I have a 55” C1 and due to 20/20 hindsight I wish I would have gotten the 65”. While I don’t know that the difference is absolutely worth $750 more to go for the C2, I am leaning that way so as not to have FOMO by not getting the latest upgrades the C2 has. 🤔

Currently on Amazon $1800 vs $1100 for the 55" C2 vs C1 respectively. While that $700 for some is pocket change, for myself I'm still pleasantly blinded by how bright my C1 panel is. In fact, it still shocks me as it lights up the entire room in bright scenes and my settings for the OLED pixel brightness are set to a conservative 80. Coming from an LG Plasma I know my picture settings are not 100% optimized but I must say for a TV straight out of the box onto the wall the picture looked fabulous untouched. Playing certain games that I have played for years was like playing for the first time, noticing parts in the scenery that I simply could not see previously. The LG C1 might not be absolute perfection but it's so close you'll never miss the percentage it isn't.

On the OLED, the differences feel much smaller with the C2 having a higher median brightness, but not an increase in dynamic range. Unless cranking the OLED brightness to 100%, perhaps the C1 and C2 can be made to look nearly identical.

Else it is more like commenting the magic addons the manufacturers have added but should not be there.

Interesting - in some measurements, the C2 appears to be 40-50 nits brighter but it's definitely visible in this video especially considering the camera limitations. Clearly, there's a new light algorithm that's bumping brightness across the entire scene on the C2. There's also more sharpness on the C2 - the PQ looks closer to Sony in these videos.

Watching this on my Alienware AW3423DW QD-OLED monitor (lol) I can clearly see the C2 is better. Can clearly see the colour volume is larger on the C2. RGB's are more vivid. My guess is the brighter peak luminance of the EVO panel means they're able to reduce reliance of the white sub-pixel to carry the brightness thus retaining the ability to preserve colour richness/vividness at high luminance from the RGB colour filters. Whereas on the Alienware QD-OLED, it just pops left, right and center in colour at all luminance range thanks to the absence of any white sub-pixel to dilute the the RGB sub-pixels. Whilst I can see that the C2 is a slight but worthwhile improvement over the C1 (and have seen a C1 in person), it is not remotely comparable to the colour space and more importantly, colour volume that the QD-OLED can achieve. This really sets the QD-OLED apart from WOLED. There is no white sub-pixel to dilute RGB so you are able to see insanely mesmerizingly bright levels of reds, greens and blues possible. This is further compounded by the fact that QD-OLED has no colour filters (for RGB) and therefore does not need to be powered as much as WOLED to achieve the same levels of luminance. Thus way less burn-in potential + way less aggressive ABL. It is a truly generational leap in OLED technology. WOLED's days are numbered. I give LG no more than 4 years (or less) before it will ditch WOLED completely for it's own QD-OLED. There is just no competition to be had between the two. So yeah, QD-OLED over WOLED any day, every day. I am utterly shocked that this monitor does not cost at least 3x more than it is selling for at MSRP.
