Wow! This was an excellent presentation! All the detail you discuss about shopping, medical care, housing and restaurants is so interesting and helpful. I love how you take us directly to all these places in the video. God bless and have a wonderful day!
Thank you. We try to bring the real Panama closer for those who are curious and often confused from other postings or sites. We are glad if this was helpful.
Excellent video. Full of useful information. Thank you.
Thank you for watching and commenting. We enjoy doing these
I had some great times in Panama, the Beaches, the Bars, the lottery on every corner, the atmosphere and of course the friendly people. It’s been 40yrs since I was there but I’ll never lose my memories of this wonderful place but I sure miss all the friends and acquaintances I made in my 2yrs there.😊
I so appreciate this video. My interest in moving to Panama is more vivid than before seeing this, and now I look forward to my first visit. Thank you for sharing so much info.
We have been living in Panama for four months (we are in Panama City) and this is one of the very best videos I have seen for introducing someone to life here in Panama’. Thank you and keep up the good work.
Thank very much for your wonderful comment. We are glad that you enjoyed it.
@@freedom55adventureMy wife and I subscribed and look forward to keeping up with your adventures. Our friends here just moved to Boquete two weeks ago and we visited there two trips ago…we love it out there
Thank you again. We have move to Boquete as well and love the temperature. Many of our friends are here as well. As you know we have a concierge service. We can assist with many things that newcomers may need. Freedom55adventure.com
Perfect and quiet video. Really beautiful!
I spent a mos in Costa Rica, visited Panama (Panama City) .. I Loved touring around, seeing Old Panama & the Canal .. Way different vibe from Coast Rica ..
I always wanted to visit Costa Rica.❤
The Protected Nature there is beautiful .. @@goforthegoldful
I was in Panama last year. They are much skilled drivers than anyone in New Jersey! and thats saying alot
Yo, I'm from Noo Joy-zee and I take dat poy-sonally.
Panama skilled drivers, HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
You know it, you live here 😉
We dedicate one of the shelves in the door of the refrigerator to storing spices. This saves them from clumping like a rock.
Great tip. Thank you
I don’t want this video to end! Will be there in 2 weeks, this is such an insightful video 🫶
Thank you. We are glad you liked it and hope you enjoy your stay.
Thanks for sharing!!!
You are very welcome. We hope that this video gives an insight to everyday life here in Panama

Excelente video muchas gracias lo disfruté ❤
Thankyou Señora!😮
Thoroughly enjoyed this! You’re sharing the real Panama which we appreciate.
Love the video!
Well done. Yes I immediately thought of Canadian Tire when I first visited Do-it-Center ( not centre). You are a great narrator.
Thank you.
Thank you for watching and your compliment
Thank you. Very helpful.
You are welcome and glad you liked it
Thanks for this video it is very informative and well documented. We are considering moving to Panama from the US and this video has really help us to learn about this city. Thanks
Thank you
Thanks for the recommendations. I have to say I love your voice, your accent is soooo cute! All the best!
Thank you for the awesome job well done
Thank you. We are glad you enjoyed it
Great video. Very informative. Thanks
Thank you
great video!!
Thank you.
Touring, from Costa Rica to Panama City, I stopped & stayed there 25+ yrs ago.. I remember using US "Quarters" for (cheap) Cabs & $1.00 USD o/w.. I went out with a (Nicaragua immigrant) young guy, working in my hotel / Partying, on a Fri night, after work .. Wound up at a late night, after hrs, outdoor Music / Dance Party (after the Club) .. Hundreds of people dancing, in the wee hrs .. They know how to party .. I remember Atlas Beer was cheap, but (not the greatest) .. I was buying the (more exp) Budweiser ..
Great video! Very informative and well-filmed👍😎
Thank you.
Excellent video🎉 Meaningful content
Thank you!
Great video, very enjoyable and informative.
Thank you, we are glad you enjoyed it.
Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge, the video is very informative and helpful, I was born and raised in David and I really appreciate your support and help, thank you 🙏
Thank you for your comment. We really appreciate the feedback from people who know David, which validates it even more.
Love your video. There's powerlines above ground in Canada. Had to get used to it when I saw it...😅
The icr cream and the fonda food looks great
Thank you
Yes…iron bars on windows and doors are solely for security purpose
Leaving windows and doors open for airflow demands it.
Thank you so much for The David Video. I plan to relocate 2024 and my goal is David then Volcano.
I'm heading there in May with that same plan. Well, to check it out first. Originally was thinking Boquete but I like the prices, infrastructure, and hospital of Volcan with less ex-pats.
El salvador has Bars on windows and doors. Plus gates walls and guards
Costa Rica as well..." Pura vida " my ass.....
I came across your video and it is very interesting and informative, thank you for posting this. I plan to retired to Panama in a few years, but I will travel to Panama for looking for a place to live. I hear that Boquete is very nice, I hope I spelled it right, I want to live in the Mountains for the cooler weather.
Hi, thank you for your comment. It's best to try each place if interest. Lately we have had a lot of power failures in Boquete, which rarely happens in David, but there is a big temperature difference plus rain versus less rain etc. If you want us to help find you a place to live let us know freedom55adventure@gmail.com
@@freedom55adventure Thank you for your reply, and Yes any help you can provide is greatly appreciated, I'm looking to live in the mountain region for the cooler climate. Looking for a 2 bedroom home, nothing fancy , but close to town. I will email you for more details.
I Can tell you’re driving during protests. It’s rarely this clear normally. Much more traffic, at least when we are there. 😊
Hi, yes parts are during the protests , but Sundays are like this as well.
@@freedom55adventure This wasn’t intended as criticism. I am apparently never this lucky! Seems the traffic is usually more when I’m there. Great video!
Oh no, it wasn't taken as criticism at all. We love input like this. Thank you
Great video. Thank you.
Question: are new cars from panamanian dealers cheaper than the same model when purchased in the US?
Thank you. You typically pay less here for a similar model. You generally don’t find the same model here, but they are similar with a different model name. Catalytic converters are not needed, cruise control is not typical, many drive standards.
Hey there. I'm an Englishman living in David. Great video! Maybe you should have shown your viewers how great Las Lajas is. Or are we keeping it a secret? :)
Hi we have a video on Las Lajas please check our playlists
Thanks so.much for the awesome informative video. We really appreciate it. Side note who ever is driving while you talk about the driving and traffic literally is running stop signs. You are supposed to stop before the the sign and then preceed with caution. They just blew threw without even braking. 😂
Welcome to Panama. That’s how they drive here.
@@freedom55adventure I see so you're part of the problem. 😂
Believe it or not, stopping at stop signs, pedestrians or yield can get you in an accident very fast here. It is a different world
@@freedom55adventureHello fellow Canadian. A few years ago we rented a car in Panama City. After crossing the canal headed north we came to a town right at the noon lunch rush. It became apparent that the game was more aggressively played and adapting was necessary. Having driven in DT Chicago and on expressways all over north America it didn't take long. We enjoyed the country from one end to the other and will be back to beautiful Panama.
Love the vid, subscribed.
I really like your video because you actually took the time to show us around. The only part at 48 minutes in I didn’t appreciate is when you advised against buying or renting in “red zones” but then stopped short of explaining what that was. All I found a reference online to this term was something called “Panama Red” which is reefer. Is this where this is grown? Please don’t assume your audience knows theses references. Other than you not being forthcoming at this juncture, you’re doing a great job. Please keep up the good work!
Red zones are dangerous areas, I doubt you’ll find much info about them on the internet, you’re better off contacting those who already live here, or locals. If you’re going to buy a property visit it first, you’ll know just by the surroundings if you’re in a red zone or not.
The price of the property usually gives it away. $30-60k for a (not newly built) house? Probable red zone.
$100k+ you’ll be fine. Just check how far away it is located from a red zone.
This is a great video although I've never seen someone blow through so many stop signs! Yikes!
That is the way it is here.
Must be stifiling hot for a Canadian! Or anybody! How long does the rainy season last?
It is pretty hot since we are very close to the equator. It all depends where you live. This year has been strange, very little rain during the rainy season and very hot and windy during the dry season. The rainy season lasts between 6 and 8 months, which does not mean that it rains constantly during that whole time.
I live in David and until you said this was during the protests I wondered where the nightmare traffic and dangerous drivers were. Because its been gridlock most days and zombie drivers.
Hi Dwayne, I follow you on FB. Thank you for watching. We should do another video during crazy time I suppose. Honestly I don't find driving in David that bad, once you live here for a while.
Great video. Because of when it was filmed (during the protests and road closures) the traffic/parking situation in David is misleading. Way fewer cars than normal.
Actually it's similar on Sundays or holidays.
Great insight, thanks. Are you from Germany?
Thank you, yes Germany and Canada
Tell me about the 1972 Ford Maverick parked in front of Big Daddys.
Great job. What are rentals going for there?
Hi that all depends on your needs and wants. With hot water, with AC house or condo etc.
We have a couple of examples of rentals in some of our videos
Very nice and comprehensive video. Great info! Can you rent a car at the airport in David? Thanks!
Hi, thank you. Yes there are car rental places right at the airport
Hi, what is the price of gasoline ? Diesel ? Hope to visit Panama soon. . Im recovering from a knee injury in a hospital in San Diego. Panama is my next stop after my knee heels . Short delay in plans. Thank You for the video tours. They keep me busy during my recovery.
Hi, I hope you get well soon. Gas is around $.88 for 91 and Diesel and $.95 for 95
Great channel you have, very detailed and enjoyed much. Just subscribed, looking forward to other uploads as well. Thank you for your due diligence. My wife and I are looking forward to our return. We have close to 5 acres in Caldera but have not been back since 2019 wrapping up on a pension then running into several obstacles after the fact. Looking to depart no notice any day now for a short trip to renew our Cédulas, contract out on an addiction to our place etc then quickly return for logistics for our 2 dogs and their transportation down for our perminate move. Can you post the app ( s ) you meantioned i.e. Farmers market payments and believe the road maps if I remember correctly. The new Quantum financial system will throw the locals for a loop in learning as well. We learned our lesson the hard way renting cars at the airport in David, they will rip you off (twice for us) and will not return deposits if paying by credit cards. Rent downtown if anyone needs. Take care, blessings.
Nice video! Can you please tell us the name of the nice neighborhood ? Ill be moving to David very soon. 😊😊
Thank you. There are actually several neighbourhoods shown in the video. Most of them are located just past Terronal mall. If you look on a map, locate the villa’s and those are the neighbourhoods. Contact us if you need assistance, our services are outlined on our website freedom55adventure.com. Good luck with your move.
I don’t know where you live but could you please do a video of volcan ?
Hi, we have a video of Volcan already
What is the name of this residential area you are driving through with the nice homes?
There are several. We summarize it as Terronal, Villa Olga, Santa Maria. Basically behind Terronal and Federal mall.
Do they have organic produce, eggs and grass fed beef?
That's what they say, I can't say for certain.
@@freedom55adventure Thank you.
Some local providers in the pueblos who come door to door with their pick-up truck for sure have their own organic foods.
A lot of the local food tents as well.
Supermarkets I dont think so except from some Chinos and carnicerías.
At Wendy's the burgers are 100 Chiriquí produced at least last year
@@richardbudzic6289
They've got MailBoxes Etc in Panama?
Yes among others
I'm looking forward to the rainy season in Panama. Are there downpours in David? 😃
Hi, yes there is. It is our favorite time here
@@freedom55adventure 🤗
How much was your friends hospital bill?
Sorry we can't recall. It was around $200
Hola..does UBER operate in David ?
No
Is yellow fever required to enter Panama
No
I am thinking about relocating in panama i like mango trees avocado trees and plants don't like snake, don't like too much rain, would like things like hospital, big market stores mall also churches too far away at least 20 to 25 minutes away so do you have any ideas about where in panama I should visit thank you very much for your help
Hi,
You will find all that in David
If you don't like rain, this is not the place for you haha. It rains for like 2/3rds of the year.
can you show pricing? healthcare costs? employment?
Groceries are a lot cheaper than Canada. Transportation too. Water and electricity bill as well. Healthcare is just as expensive if you pay out of pocket, unless you go to the public hospitals, there you will pay about half or less than you would in private hospitals/clinics. Ofc the wait times will be 10x worse or so. Employment... You're not gonna get rich here unless you open up a successful business. But if you need to get by, you may find something, I recommend moving here with a pension or a secure remote job from North America, otherwise you will feel just as poor here as you do over there. (If high cost of living is what you're escaping)
@@solonyetski Thank you for your refreshing honesty
What does Red Zone mean?
An elevated crime area. A good way to gauge is if the area is kept well it should be safer than an area that is not
@@freedom55adventure thank you. I’ve been to Panama and plan to move there.
I live in NYC and I no longer like fast food. I would prefer arroz con pollo y frijoles y platanos.
Hi, that’s what you find here all over the place for very little money
Where can we find a map of Red Zone Locations ? - thanks
Hi there is no map, it's known areas of elevated crime activity. Speak to locals and you will learn from them
Funny that this city has an EN name
What is the red zone?
Hi, it is known as a higher crime rate zone
Thank you and for sharing this great video
Are you a snowbird?
No we live in Panama full time
are there jewish people in david? kosher food?
Probably, David being a Jewish name.
Panama has a large jewish community but most of them are in Panama city.
