  • Is Russia Leaving the International Space Station? #iss #nasa
The International Space Station was a massive project made possible by the collaboration of the world space super powers. Since the creation of the ISS in 1998, hundreds of astronauts from all around the world have stayed on the ISS. However, as the ISS starts to age and deteriorate, Russia is looking to exit the ISS. Russia has been looking to build its own space station for several years at this point, and they feel that it's time to move onto the next step. Meanwhile, NASA is looking to rent out the ISS to private astronauts and tourists and eventually phase out the ISS themselves in the 2030s or 2040s. Russia doesn't want to wait that long though, so they are proposing an exit as early as 2025. It's not clear whether Russia will stick to that deadline, but the plan is to leave the ISS as soon as their own space station is in orbit. The Russian Orbital Service Station or ROSS is not nearly as large as the ISS, but it will utilize polar orbit which will give cosmonauts a much better view of Russia. In this video I discuss in my opinion what would happen or could happen without Russia in the mix of our ISS. Can Russia really do this? What our the options for the US? Does the US have a plan B or a backup plan? And are we ready to wave the Russians off?

the Russian module supplies the propulsion to keep the station on orbit. without it, it the orbit will get smaller and smaller and it will fall to earth.... kind of like space junk! I'd be willing to bet our buddy Elon has a rocket on standby just in case!

Your right! I can't imagine the price for that launch! 😆
Thanks for the comment Ray! It's been a while bud. Have a great rest of the week!

Thanks for the view Randall 👍🏼 I appreciate the comment.
The shuttle I've had for years! It's wood carved, like the one's on the back shelf, (you can't see on this video, but you can on other video's) 😉 The Saturn V is legos. That took a while to build, lol Tower is sold separately. Think that was made in China! 🤣
And the lunar lander is just a model I made and created a moon platform for it for my daughters school project 🤓 One day I'll make a video of all that's around the room. Might have to break it down to multiple video's. 😄

@@yourspacetv1 All NASA needs is and was a model. Apollo took the REAL thing to the MOON with no test drives on the EARTH.
