Sticking to one car. We currently just went down to one car because our other one was totaled. I've been really tempted to get another car but man does it cost money, and I'm considering just toughing it out and dealing with the inconvenience because it would be financially wise... ugh lol.

I just started being serious about meal planning this year. It has had an immense impact. Not only saving money on useless grocery items, but it takes the stress out of trying to figure out what to eat every night. Also, big tip - actually EAT your leftovers! You'd be amazed at what can be reheated and thrown into a tortilla shell!

#2 is so right on. I buy what I need not what I want. I Brownbag My Lunch Four Days A Week and "Treat" Myself on Friday. I eat Breakfast before going to work, I don't have a problem with Walmart, or even A Thrift Shop, if the clothes are still good you can still wear it with style. Iron your Clothes and make them look fresh. On Tom Ford's Mr. Porter Channel, or even British GQ there is a Clip teaching you how to Iron, and so many other words of advice. Have an Agenda and write your schedule so you know what you have to do on certain days. I read a Motivational Quote, and read a Bible Passage which helps me alot. I "Make" My Bed each day religiously, then I try to write in My Journal each day or The Weekend. Keep track of your Bills. I use an Excel Sheet and I have my Finances down pat. I try to pay certain Bills as soon as possible. I pay My Cell Phone Bill at least Two Weeks before it is due. Make sure you have your toiletries ready for work the day before, IE Facecloth, Towel, and when it comes to your Toothbrush, have a Cap on it that way no bacteria can collect on it during the day. When you "Flush" keep the Lid down so no bacteria flies out.

    1. Have at least 3 meals you can cook in 5 minutes
    2. Try to build a second stream of income
    3. Cook batched meals (meal-prep)
    4. Make a meal plan
    5. Make a capsule wardrobe
    6. Cut your own hair
    7. Use a high interest savings account
    8. Save money by being creative and buying used
    9. Practice saying you (if it's not a hell yea, it's a no)
    10. Play the minimalism game
    11. Have very few subscriptions
    12. Share your subscriptions
    13. Try to DIY before paying a professional
    14. Negotiate phone and internet plans
    15. Sell your extra car
    16. Do some preventative maintenance
    17. Read as many financial books as you can
    18. Try to use cash for at least a month
    19. Write down your goals
    20. Consider refinancing

Something many people don't think about- it is worth it to go to therapy for a few months now while you don't have major issues going on. You'll learn valuable skills that with help you life a healthier and happier life even after you start going. People who do this usually have less physical and mental issues down the road because they know coping mechanisms that are mentally & physically healthy. Mentally unhealthy people have physical health issues. And if you can't cope you might end up needing years of therapy later down the road rather than a few months now. Mental health can be proactive too!!!

My pro tips for eating well on a small budget:
Know what you're up against. Make meals that will win over takeout, restaurant foods, snack foods or readymeals (unless what you planned, was one of those things), every time.
Learn to cook, think of it as an empowering act of self care, instead of either a hobby, or a chore.
Buy mostly cheap, nutritious, single ingredients, and make simple, balanced meals.
For variety as well as structure, have some kind of rotation on meals, for instance dinner themes (Meatless Monday, Taco Tuesday, Fishy Friday, Sunday Steak).
Meal plan to shop smart to avoid waste.

I go to haircutting to students. They are for free and always have tones of students who wants to exercise (with their coach behind of cours).
I go to charity shop, if they have something to replace my old things (I got my waterboiler, trays, plates and so kind of stuff, even Guccy boots and Fishbone jeans for like 1 dollar, and so on...)
Exchages: I recently do clothes exchange with my freiends. Not only saves money, but saves waste and the world.
I am not against cash, but... I use my credit card everywhere I can. Just whisely. Never buy a thing I could not afford with cash. I have never bought more stuff than it was my salary, but I got my bonuses back after i bought something, so I saved money. Also I have insurace with the card, so if I travel somewhere (which is very common, because I live 10 mins walk to the border of other country), I feel secure.

You mentioned some books that you found particularly helpful. Would you mind sharing which ones were helpful to you? Always interested in what others found worthwhile. Two biggest tips are to cook at home (saving money, much higher quality food, better health.). Tracking what I spend on in a month. I have a spreadsheet template which I have kept for 30 years and just track where my money goes (using credit cards helps me download the transactions and categorize them.). Amazing when you see how much you spend eating out or on those subscriptions, etc. I just ask if it was worth it to spend that money. And then adjust next month. Thanks for the video.

The reason I am into these videos is because I find you can sacrifice nothing to very little and save a ton of money. Like going to a different coffee shop. Or trying a different phone plan or a different brand of coffee or clothing or anything you can save a ton without changing too much about your life that is what minimalism is it's not sell everything and live miserably it's looking out seeing what you spend on that you never or rarely use. And cutting that off. Waiting for a sale if you don't need something immediately. Buying simple solid colour clothing instead of printed ones so they go with everything. These will help you save a lot without changing much about yourself.

Thank you for these important frugal tips! Nice to see you again Gabe and you're my favorite minimalist! Greetings from Mexico. I must finish my decluttering. Really I have to get rid of a lot of stuff. My bedroom and my entire house look like a real basement. I hope to see you one in person :)) Saludos from Mexico !

    I just follow 3 rules.
    1) avoid debt when possible
    2) save at least half your income
    3) take your saved money & put it into low expense index funds. The best one is vtsax, which has 0.04% expense ratio.
That's it. That's all I need. But I'm in a fortunate position where I make enough that I can very comfortably live off half my income

To anybody who's reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind. May clarity replace confusion. May peace and calmness fill your life. ❤🧘‍♂

My car cost about £250 to buy and maybe £200 in repairs/ parts over the past 5 years. It's a Renault 5 so cheap on fuel, tax and insurance, and relatively straightforward to repair. I love it!
