We're back at the bins today! On the hunt for some Christmas decor. Let me take you along, and show you what I found!
YES…..I discovered YOU from your collaboration with Hillary ❤️❤️. I feel like I’ve known both of you forever. I am 73 and just delight in the ways you young moms navigate the world with such natural style and grace.
Busted, rusted, crusted will now be part of my antiquing vocabulary!! That little bucket would also be adorable with a little tree in it and some of that burlap ribbon on it!
Sweetheart ❤I feelt the same way. My husband passed away going on four years ago. You, Amie Fritz, I can go on. You beautiful women have inspired me! You are doing a wonderful ,fantastic job. Don’t you dare give up. And your home is beautiful just beautiful ❤. Thank you 🙏 for truly inspiring all of us. 🥰
You could cut the Boyd’s bears appliqué out and reattach on another sweat shirt with iron on adhesive..
Great idea.
And cut up the rest of the shirt and use for rags.
I love those old books. I have a Bible from 1874 it is my favorite.
The sweatshirt!! That brought me back to the 90s!!! I LOVED making our own sweatshirts like that 😆 it definitely reminds me of what our moms wore/made us 😆
I have a bucket just like that.. I love the old, rusty and crusty ❤️❤️❤️
The Norman Rockwell tin would be too adorable with a little faux tree inside of it.❤
Love all this!! Enjoy your content and thriftiness!
I don't think any of us were expecting you to do Christmas content any sooner! Take your time and enjoy each season and holiday as it comes 😊
Happy holidays!
The little wreath would look nice at the base of a hurricane globe or candle stick. Of course anywhere!
Kristen, you crack me up…” If you’re ever looking for a crusty old bucket the Goodwill bins is the place to find it” 😂😂 💕
The tin and the galvanized bucket would both look great with a small Christmas tree 🎄 ❤
I have a 26 volume set of the book of knowledge from 1915. I paid $5. The ladies at the sale kept telling me I needed them. They carried them to my car. My kids have had more fun reading these. They were sent to farmers kids so they could learn things. Like milking a cow, making butter, shearing sheep and more. So much fun!
Yay, I love Hillary ❤
All I can say Kristin is that you are adorable! You make me laugh so much. What a joyful spirit the Lord has given you.
Love your videos ....they make me feel so happy when I am down. Love you finds. Blessings sister
Sweet Kristen, this video is a gentle reminder that "a cheerful heart is good medicine"...you're so funny. Blessings!
I believe your spool of "ribbon" might be for antique upholstering.
I love your idea with the Norman Rockwell tin.
I think it's great that you are easy into Christmas. It's nice to appreciate Thanksgiving. 🦃🍁
Kristen, I love Norman Rockwell too! Growing up my brother had a set of four vintage boys sport prints in his bedroom which were also my dad’s when he was growing up. Now I have them in my boys room! It is very sentimental.
Love the bucket. Would be cute with faux snow balls! 🎄☃️🎅🏼🦌❄️
🤍 the shirt seriously!! We need to bring the 90s sweatshirts back!!
Love you and Hillary!❤
I have never lived anywhere near the Goodwill bins. Dang. You find some great stuff there. Thanks for sharing.
I love when people are so kind to help others and build one another up. i.e. Hillary. I am so in the Christmas spirit this year but I’m having to hold myself back, at least, until Thanksgiving weekend. Love your finds. I love using old books in my decor. Thank you for sharing. ❤
Happy holidays!
I love old books as well ! So fun and useful to decorate with. My granny was born in 1918 . She lived to almost 103. Can't wait to see the tree in that beautiful big tin ! PS love your channel thank you for sharing your lovely home.
You can cut the applique of bears make a pillow or put it in a frame. So cute little wreath! Tfs
Great idea!!
I was an almost immediate sub after you showed up in my suggested. As soon as you mentioned being from Omaha it’s a definite follow as my husband is from there also.
Great finds. Too bad about the shelf. Here in Washington state anything over 10 pounds has a flat rate of $15. Our per pound rate is up to just shy of $2 per pound and goes down once you get over a certain pound. It’s always interesting how each one functions a little different. I found a 28”x36” lying down papier-mâché dear a few weeks ago. An antler was broke but found it. Brought it home, glued it up, painted her white, and put a beautiful bow in her. Love a good glow up!
I’m off to binge the rest of your content now. 😊
About 5 years ago, before we moved my whole entire house was filled with Boyd's bears. I do mean all the rooms. I have gotten rid alot of them but have kept my most liked ones. I love how you think with the rustic, crusty items, too. I also love thrifting, way more than I need, too. But being retired now, I have to get picky about what I get..so no hoarders show, arrive at my door. Love you videos, Kristen.
I really love your décor style ❤❤❤, your home is made for your style. Here in Florida where I live there are not too many older homes it seems everything is stucco, same style and it makes decorating difficult if you like the style you have ( LOVE). I know I should be very happy I have a home and be blessed, however, I love older homes. I grew up in Illinois and the style of homes with a front porch and wrap around is my dream. Thank you for sharing your home and decor ( love the white sofas back in your living room)I always feel so happy after watching you.
Take your time ! It is just nice seeing you and talking to us !!! You are so real ! Love your content .
Yes love all of your finds ! So cute and timeless.
love all you found and the older the better. Enjoy the holiday and take time to be thankful for all God gives.
Kristen I think you are just the sweetest! Love your smile and warmth! So I’m looking forward to your Christmas videos! 😊
You are so fun! Thank you for making me laugh. Great finds!
❤️the old books.. you rescued some wonderful things.. I also collect Old books.. I now limit myself to books copyrighted in the 1800’s..
That's a great idea!
Yes I found you by that collaboration with Hilary! You both are so genuine & talented & faith-filled women!
Iwish I had a GW outlet near me. I live outside of Philadelphia and the nearest one is about 45 minutes away.
My best friend made sweatshirts like that for me and my two daughters one Christmas!!
You sweet girl, I don’t even want to think about Christmas. I’m still enjoying my Fall decor. I like to do my Christmas decor the weekend after Thanksgiving. I do know friends who had theirs up Nov 1. Good for them. Loved this video. See ya soon. God bless & see you soon. Thanks for introducing me to Hilary. 😊❤😊🙏
Oh my goodness, you’re such a sweet soul. I have my mother-in-law‘s antique teddy bear that is missing a limb and one eye and ithas to be well over 100 years. I set it shelves where you can’t see his missing limb. I also have a teddy bear and a stuffed monkey that was my husband’s. He is 63 years old. My daughter-in-law was laughing that I was using these stuffed animals as decor. But then I went to her house and she had a Boyd’s teddy bear with a big ribbon around it sitting on her entranceway table. About a month later I went over and saw that she had a Boyd’s bunny rabbit that was matching the teddy bear. Man did she get teased about using these teddy bears as decor. She said that she had found them at the thrift store. I love how all you younger CZcamsrs are respecting vintage items and using them in your home.❤️❤️
Ooooh the books! I wanted to reach through the screen and grab them 📚
Hilary, I just love watching you… You make us feel like we know you… Because you’re very humble and authentic and vulnerable. I absolutely love your home and what you’re doing with it! And I absolutely love when you share scripture or a devotion at the end… I always want to support my sweet sister in Christ!❤
Not sure why I called you Hilary, lol!
Kristen, I gasped when I saw those cross-stitched ornaments! So cute! I have several precious cross-stitched ornaments from my mom...and I just love them! I may even try to copy those! (The rusty crusty bucket is a great find too!) Great haul!😊🎄😊
Kristen your finds were fun!! As always you are so fun to watch as you are genuine and sweet!! The books are beautiful! Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much!
I used to make those sweatshirts in the early 1990's!
I like the items you got. The sweatshirt reminds me of sweatshirts my mom use to make in the 90s. Lol
Those sweatshirts were so stylish in the 90's paired with mom jeans and white sneakers.
Haha, I need that rusty old bucket for my front porch decor. I’ve been searching for just that. I want to put wood fire logs in it with some greenery. I’ll keep searching .
You always find such interesting things. You definitely have a vision for how you want to decorate! So fun to watch!!! As always,God bless.
Thank you so much!
I collect the Boyd’s Bear figurines. Well, I used to anyway. I have them in a hutch. I have a few of the plush ones too. You found some good items. I love that wrapping paper. Christmas Vacation is my all time favorite movie. I love cousin Eddie. I ordered a sweatshirt off of Temu this year that has quotes from the movie. Can’t wait to get it. Much love!!!! your Nebraska friend forever! ❤️❤️
I was not in the Christmas spirit until the day my husband said he would get my Christmas decor bins out.. I agreed (cause he was offering 😅). Now I am feeling so festive!
Happy holidays!
Wonderful finds. Both of the metal buckets are amazing to decorate with and maybe put trees in them for Christmas. Those books are beautiful. I am looking forward to seeing how you decorate your home for the holiday season. Thanks so much for sharing
Happy holidays!
Found you through Hilary’s channel. Looking forward to your videos.
Another great video Kristen! I love the antique and vintage books. Great find! ❤️
You had some great finds !!! I have my grandmothers tin bucket and it’s precious to me !!!! You will use it for so many things !!! Enjoy decorating!!!!!
Finally! I was going through withdrawals not seeing your thrift hauls. Can’t wait for the other two. Love your channel.
I know, I’m trying to get into the spirit of things too! Thanks for sharing! You had me cracked up talking about your bear shirt “I want to be these bears!”🤣 I love it! It is so nostalgic of childhood years🥰 Hope you have a great week!❤️
Kindling for the Santa pail!
Awwww, I just adore Hillary, I've been watching here since shortly after she started CZcams. You always have such luck at the bins!
I am a 67 year grandma, as always love your videos and I follow Hillary too. Just a word of advice, when you buy used and old books. Put them in a freezer bag and pop them in the freezer for a few days to kill any bugs, like silverfish !
I'd use the crusty bucket to hold kindling for the fireplace
Love the older books. Always such a sweet find. And the cross stitch ❤ Thanks for sharing 🎉
Thanks for watching!
I love your sweatshirt ! & old bucket !!
The bucket (busted) would make for a beautiful Tulip pot for your entry. Plant bulbs in soil now, decorate with branches and lights during holidays, and clear the branches After the last frost to enjoy the peeking flowers
Haha.. i love busted, rusted, crusted! Bring it on!!! I was thinking the same thing when you mentioned putting a tree 🌲 inside the red tin.
I love the things you found. But SUPER loving your lip color!
Thanks for taking us along.. I will be doing my Christmas decorating after Thanksgiving
Have fun!
You found some amazing things. What a treasure the books are. I didn't notice any worn places in the Christmas shirt, and those little ornaments are too cute. How fun.
I love your lip color.... it looks beautiful on you. Love all your videos.❤❤❤
Thank you so much!!
Love that old metal bucket. I think it will cool with any plant and great it already had holes in bottom
Yes, a tree in that tin would be great as well like a pencil tree. Are you’ll find one
My family can have whole conversations using quotes from "Christmas Vacation". It is also a family tradition to watch on Thanksgiving to kick off the Christmas season. A couple of years ago we watched with the captions on and it was a new experience.
You make me smile every time I watch your videos!
She laughs at everything.
You find the most lovely things 🇬🇧🇺🇸🌸🌸
Your Christmas thrifting video is, in my opinion, perfect timing. I don’t start thinking of Christmas until the week of Thanksgiving. I don’t decorate before Thanksgiving I just start thinking of how I will be decorating. I loved the items your haul. You and I have the same style and vision for thrifted items. I can’t wait to see them styled in your home. ❤️💚❤️💚
Happy holidays!
I would fix that cute bear jumper, It has a lot of potential.
How fun and great finds. We also love old books! We can’t seem to help ourselves, we buy them all😊
Us too!
Hey Kristen, that was a great Christmas haul!! I think, if I'm not mistaken, the large spool of thick
dark neutral ribbon looks like some
type of burlap upholstery materal.
I think using it for wrapping gifts sounds really nice. The combination of a gift wrapped in brown paper bag with that ribbon
would be so nostalgic & old world
Christmas worthy! You could add
a pretty card on the outside for color. I love that idea!! Thanks for sharing. 🎄
Yes! Thank you!
Kristen you are just awesome, i just love you and your home. I am 63 and husband are getting ready to sell our home (health problems)so keep it real for me God bless you and those beautiful girls. Much love Rhonda
I love both you and Hillary so much…. Your both so good and kind, and women of God, I found you two years ago when Hillary spoke so kindly of you…. Love that your both Utube friends
The spool of cloth looks like carpet binding.
Thrifting is a gamble!! But it’s so much fun to see what you can find!! I love it!!! ❤
It really is!
Stoppp the cross-stitch ornament 🥹 I love that so much!
It's nice to see the luna get some love! Foreo's black friday deals this year are really something and worth checking out
Love all your great finds! I need you to teach me how you clean up the things your thrift so you’re comfortable putting them in your house! Somethings make me nervous!
I love that NR tin Kristen! I would add some wispy greenery (maybe pine) in it loosely falling over the sides with some berry picks. Ugh I can see it in my head! 🤣
You inspired me to go to Goodwill today. I got a bunch of red and green books to replace some of my blue ones for Christmas. ❤️
That is awesome!
I can’t wait for your next video, love them!
Hi Kristen. You are just such a bright spot in my day. I really like Hilary. I have been watching her for years. CHer home is lovely. So is yours. Like the popcorn tin it sure would look cute with a little tree in it. We will appreciate your Christmas decor whenever you get it up. Love your channel. Thanks for sharing with us. Take care. God Bless You and Your Family.
I'm so glad!
Oh I love those kind of hauls. All cute antique things. Thanks for sharing.🎉
Thanks for watching!
Good haul !
We don’t have Goodwill bins in Canada - at least not in the Maritimes (East Coast) - and I’m a bit sad about that when I see the great items you find. Ah well, I’ll just enjoy watching you have fun with it. I found Hillary’s channel a few years ago when I was searching for porch Christmas decor ideas that will stand up to harsh snow and ice. Then, a little while later, she introduced me to your channel I subscribed after watching your collaboration videos. You’re both lovely young moms and your gentle channels are a balm in this ungentle world.
Love the Norman Rockwell can--if you don't have a tree for it you can fill it with greens for your porch. Also, one year we took some of the wrapping paper we loved and covered some of our large artwork during the holidays. It was a fun way to appreciate the pretty paper and my oil paintings seemed brand new to me in January. Thanks for the Christmas launch video!!!
Another great video Kristen! Thanks for the inspiration.
Great finds at GW! The Norman Rockwell tin is in beautiful shape and I like the old bucket. If you don’t put a plant in it, a few small pieces of firewood would look nice too.
*You make me laugh so much with your self-deprecating humor. Keep up the good work, Kristen; you're so funny❣️🤣*
I'm so glad!
I love the sweatshirt!!❤
I just love your channel!!❤
Thank you so much!!
Enjoy your time with preparing for Christmas. I am happy to watch whenever you are ready. To be honest I’d probably enjoy watching them Thanksgiving weekend but really I don’t personally sit around thinking it has to be now. I’m glad you got the tin and bucket for trees. It’s what I thought of as soon as you spotted them. I love the two ornaments. Adorable. Great rescuing of the old books. 🎄🎉😊
Happy holidays!
