Confused on most of the comments about how they prefer the 2023 version of Dead Island 2 over this because it looks bad and doesn't have gore like in the 2023 version. This version is literally in alpha and incomplete.
The ambience and background Music was So surreal to me, its calm but also really punchy at times, i really love how different areas had Music that's made specifically for them making them stand out. And Even if the 2023 version looks better graphics wise, the nostalgic feeling of the 2015 build makes me hopeful that some Day a dev will leak a more finished version Of it Also The missions in the San Francisco map are pretty simple, the first one makes you collect a blue print that sometimes spawns to craft a modded weapon. Then there's a mission that makes you bring a radio to listen to some broadcast, And the rest are teaching you about the crafting materials like fuel which you get from the gas station, electronics from the electronic store and screws from the hardware store, There is a lot of Little easter eggs or references all around this build
This looks like it had promise, but what I heard was that the Developer working on it (Yager) wanted to make it On-line only, which the Publisher wanted to make it both On-line & Off-line (like the original) but Yager would not budge, so they were replaced. I will never understand the desire by so many Devs to make their games On-line only. Most On-line only games end up failing hard cause it alienates half the gamer base. Keep it optional, why is this so hard to understand?
Sounds made up to me. The developer is a client and they would just bend instead of going bankrupt. There were likely either more core issues with the vision, or issues with the quality/speed of what they were delivering.

Imo Dambuster did a fine job with Dead Island 2. My only problem with it is that I wish they got more out of it instead of rushing it at times. Hopefully if there is a Dead Island 3 it will be a culmination of everything up to this point.
Here we see an alternate timeline where the game actually did come out in 2015 and the game didn’t go through 4 different developers. Jokes aside, I can really see what they were going for here.
It takes a lot to make the videos I make. I sometimes do make longer videos though, but if I were to make just those I wouldn’t ever have time to myself. That’s life, you have to balance priorities
I think the new one will have big areas but you won’t be able to go to different parts of the map like a regular open world game. Think of it like metro Exodus with its individual regions

It makes me a little sad not knowing what could’ve been with this game, but even when the official gameplay for it dropped I wasn’t super impressed. And I definitely was not liking them getting rid of the story and just going for side quests and world events. Still sad to know we will never get to play or see what the characters the team had created were gonna be like and what their vision of gameplay and zombies was even if I didn’t like some of it. Overall, it seems we’re gonna be getting a good dead island sequel now with dead island 2 so here’s hoping it’s great!

All the people saying we got this instead of what we just got now is crazy to me. Now that the game has finally been released, and I've completed the story, I think the best part of the final version is just exploring the highly detailed, and fairly accurate depiction of LA (I found the characters are annoying, and think the story is dumb) Yager's depiction looks like the exact opposite... I know it was 2014, and there was more limitations then there is today, but from what I can see through this gameplay, the world they built was lacking signifigant detail, and the map was highly inaccurate. You might argue the map doesn't matter, but putting a generic American subburb between the Hollywood sign and Santa Monica pier, and then trying to pass it off as "Los Angeles", is incredibly stupid to me. If you're not going to put in the effort to atleast somewhat accurately depict the real world location the game is based in, don't do it at all. Just give us another fictional location, not this cartoony ah depiction of LA, lmao
I Find it funny how this very unfinished build of Dead Island 2 that was worked on by different people is just straight up fucking better then the shit we got Deep Silver is in some Deep Shit if they don't fix that real quick like seriously the map's are so much better then the shit we have in the Retail game basically everything about this is just better and screams DEAD ISLAND then the garbage we got somehow even though they had more then enough time to work on the damn thing Dead Island 2 still came out feeling rushed the character's are awful and forgettable the Map's are so damn tiny and way to you go from point A to point B like there isn't much to explore at all and the game basically has no replayability no playing the game as different character's doesn't count because in Dead Island 2 the different character's don't change much unlike the character's from the original game's with their skill tree's which those were just better overall I am so damn sad that they fucked up so badly they owe us a huge update to the game that makes the map's and shit bigger I don't care if that is asking to much THEY MADE US WAIT FOR SO FUCKING LONG FOR A GAME THAT SOMEHOW FEELS SO DAMN RUSHED! and all I got to say in the end is F U C K D E E P S I L V E R hope that company goes out of business so they can't ruin this franchise anymore and hopefully some other company with an actual brain can buy the rights and make a good fucking game instead

Nope, they’ve all evolved. Ryan is still Ryan, but a stripper. Ashlee is kinda Dani. Dani from 2015 is now Carla. John is Jacob
