It has been nearly a week since our Kate Garraway sadly announced the passing of her husband Derek. Today Ben Shephard passes on her thanks to everyone for all of their kind words following her husband's death.

I know what you are feeling right now, I lost my 27yr old son, 2yrs later My wonderful husband.that was 11yrs and 9yrs ago,I still when I wake up, have to remember that they have gone, One thing I can say, we only remember Sunny days,and these are our memories nobody can ever take them away. Derek draper suffered very badly from COVID and came out bad and never did recover.
and just like Derek there was many, many other people who took the toll of COVID pain and illness and died from that dreadful mess.
