First of all, I don't know what's up with the color on the footage and I can't figure out how to fix it, so it is what it is.
Secondly, this is all very fresh and confusing and I'm still trying to navigate my new schedule and responsibilities. But I wanted to share my current thoughts and feelings about my situation for anyone who is curious. I also talk deeply about all of the reasons why I quit my job and the circumstances that led up to it.
This is a really big scary adventure for me. I don't quite know yet how to be a full time artist or what exactly it means to make art full time. But if you are wondering if or when you should become a full time artist, maybe my journey might give you a little bit a reference for it.

The societal picture here in India is so much worse and I am continually feeling depressed. I just know I have to do something creative to feel alive. But I can't because of so much other works like college and stuff. It's just the worst feeling. Glad you had the courage to work on what you love doing.

Emily it is so valid to be scared and to miss the job you’ve loved for so long, just because you’re doing something exciting doesn’t mean those other feelings just don’t exist anymore.

Even I too quit my job recently when it started crashing me down. Now preparing for other exams spending huge chunk of time doing my acrylics on newly bought canvas, romping around my baby cow kiko, practising my vocals and reading a load of books ordered from amazon!😁
the world always needs more artists. i don't even know you personally but i'm so proud of you. this is a big step but i think it was totally the best decision. i hope i can be a full time artist one day. a big reason i've grown in my art and that could potentially happen is because of you. your tutorials and realistic advice and ideas have really just helped me so much. so just knowing that i hope you feel proud of yourself. you really do inspire people, and now you can do it even more. sending love ❤❤
Lol, isn’t everyone an artist now. The world is so saturated with artists that it’s hard for everyone to find commissions and even get an attention for their art. It’s so bad now

Right now, my art is just a hobby and I don’t know if I could ever make it into a big enough career. I do want to try selling some but don’t always have the time or motivation to make art every day or week. While I don’t want to be in my current job forever (already been doing it for 11 years), I need the health insurance and money. I have anxiety and depression so worry about the future and fear that I would fail or something. I wish I had enough money saved up, however things like medical and dental bills have made my savings go down.
One of the things that confuses me with selling arts and crafts is figuring out how do you tax the customer? I think on shops like Etsy, they do it for you but if you start your own shop from your website, how does that work? I live in a state with no sales tax.

I work two part time jobs and I’m quitting one to attempt to get my art career going! I’m still living with my parents and they agreed to still support me a little while I attempt this. So I can only admit I understand a little of your emotions since you’re completely relying on your career now but I do feel for ya!! I wish you luck!!

I'm a lot older than you and my feelings have always been the same about art since I was born. As a single mom there was no time. My son has always been and is #1. I taught creativity to children and make art of the gardens. Now that I'm older it's not about time.. It doesn't work for me if I'm doing it to make money. It stops the creativity if I feel I have to do it. I paint to make someone else smile and that works.! I love your energy and would love to see how you started your art biz.
