As a new YGO player I really appreciated the slower pace of play and the explaining of the cards. Watching other Yugitubers everything happens so fast and it's hard to learn what's going on. I would like more of this content
Yes exactly!!!!!! This is what I loved the most. I don’t really play anymore I just like to listen to it in the background when I study and stuff and know barely anything about the new cards since I’ve been out of yugioh for years and I was actially able to keep up
This is why yugioh tournaments are a huge flop as entertainment material. No one understands what's going on, even veteran players have trouble following. No amount of narration and audience reaction can turn that into something interesting to watch

Tbh Orcust isn't that good of a deck
I will argue that playing MD is a better way to star for new players because yes, the game helps you alot with timing and other stuff. But once you get to know the matchups and what each chokepoint hurt archetypes you're set to play irl.
Also I like MD format the most since lets you play alot of things you cant in the TCG.
MD is also way less of a money sink than TCG
Also you can play much more and play for free
Master Duel has overall made me a better player. I’ve learned chain timing and that’s something I’ve always been aloof to in all my years of yugioh. Not to mention, my card knowledge is absolutely enormous now.
the other thing you don't have to worry about in MD is arguing about card rulings. TCG both players kind of have to figure out/know card rulings or look them up.

Love using the name text box on the cards as a way to see each players hand. Whoever thought of that one deserves a prize.
The thunder turn game 1 was lethal, carrier gives the colossus +1k attack from the equip,

A small misplay i caught is that orcust knightmare cant be destroyed by battle with a link mosters. So unfortunately the almost comeback was illegal. But still a good duel.

11:13 - 11:31 how was the set imperm removed?
The biggest misplay is that Adam already had lethal. They forgot Union Carrier gives the equipped monster an extra 1k. 1500+3600+3200=8300
Other than that, Leoni using Impem on a vanilla Titan, knowing that Adam's only card in hand was OG Thunder Dragon (not a quick effect).
Personally, if Galatea was negated, I would've made her into Dingirsu, making Harp as X material, so that I would have followup next turn. Adam would've needed to somehow use Titan's effect 3 times to still do lethal there, so she would've lived
also when leoni gonna send titan to gy, adam ask whether it is send or destroy when it's already negated by imperm

Cardmarket is killing it on the content so far; not only this is educational (I'm sure there's lots of ppl coming back to yugioh bcs of MD), but it's also entertaining!
From the very start with that intro I’m already liking this vid. That intro was perfect! Not obnoxious, cringy, weird, poorly acted, or anything else. It was done just perfect. And with that said I’m excited to see wat the rest of the vid has in store.

My first time playing yugioh was from Master Duel. It taught me the basics and I learned how to play the game. I've since moved on to the tcg and I feel like I would have had a much much harder time getting into the game if I didn't have MD to teach me
Yeah I played MD for two years and I'm trying to learn paper and it's so much harder to know if you are playing the game correctly. Like did I read that card right? It's not glowing.
The intro reminded me of The Office somehow. A fairly normal situation very rapidly spinning out of control for absurd reasons. lol

Coming from an old school player like myself, I know none of the new cards from the last decade and a half, except maybe the bigger cards like the Hand Traps. So I definitely welcome more vids like this. Seeing a lot of the new cards in action is really cool. And based on my playstyle, I feel like Thunder Dragons would've easily been a deck I would've run.

I returned to yugioh through Master Duels as I wanted to get back to playing the actual TCG in person. While MD does help a lot on refreshing me and teaching new game mechanics along with insight on card details, it literally holds your hand on figuring out what to do, which is cool but it becomes a habit of depending on the AI. When I played my first in person TCG after years away from it, I thought I was good to go but I realized that I was far from it. I got whooped so bad, it was discouraging. When I looked back at my game plays, I realized I could've won and misplayed hard on so many rounds. Now I'm a lot more comfortable and knowledgeable on my deck, which in turn helps me play MD better, as well, and I hope to get back into the next in person tourny in my locals soon. Playing MD helps, but don't get lazy and depend on the AI to do your decisions!

Yea, in Master Duel, I tend to forget that I had a card there that has graveyard effects, so when the graveyard glows, I'm reminded that there's a card ready to activate. No clue how many games not remembering my effects could cost me in TCG

I think at a decent level there's no difference between MD and TCG players, higher ranked MD players have manual activations anyways so platform itself doesnt do anything, you still need to know when to use hand traps and interactions.
Playing a more casual Invoked Thunder Dragons deck, I’ve missed out on several Thunder Dragon Titan activations just because I get annoyed with the game asking me if I want to Mechaba myself and start right clicking through stuff too quickly. Never ash blossomed myself at least though!
Leoni next time should play floo and lock him out of everything.
Man this video is great, but the best part is the way you guys are just showing the cards in hand with the types and everything, wish the official streams did that so that we can know who has what in each hand easier instead of the commentators guessing sometimes. I know poker has those cameras that they can show their cards too, yugioh should do that, would make the game that much easier to follow

May have missed lethal, but we wouldn't have got to see Leoni play out of it and break the lock, which was really cool to see. As well as seeing Adam's reaction to it and being impressed.

Master duel is just cheaper if that means I'm worse at tcg it is what it is.
I don't think it makes you worse, I think sims make you BETTER at paper Yu-Gi-Oh, just not as quickly as playing just paper

when adams thunderdragons attacked the first time they reduced leonis life points from 6500 to 3900 to 700 instead of from 6500 to 3100 to 700

Loved the video, but what happened to Leoni's first Impermanence? The editing cuts it out and it goes from set to the graveyard at a weird time.
Adam is probably the better player overall, IIRC he's been Irish Nationals Champ, so the result isn't too surprising and over a lot of matches, which is how MD's bo1 format makes sense, he'd have the better winrate.
That was my question. It just sorta disappears from the field to the graveyard, and at the moment that it does they're kinda chuckling in the editing

Maxx C is the GREATEST card cause it stops your opponent taking 10 mins to set up
im amazed by how these guys are able to sit there without constantly shuffling their hands around.. i cant hold two or more flat objects in my hand without shuffling them xD
I went to a convention recently and they had promotional tables of people playing and getting taught Yu-Gi-Oh. I bought 2 structure decks to share with a guy and these were the first cards i owned or even touched in years since the early XYZ era. And i literally played the shittiest Yu-Gi-Oh I've ever played. I had to constantly read cards and just played horribly even though I knew the cards from Master Duel. The transition to irl was really shocking how much more effort it is required. Like dude I didn't even remember how many cards i had to draw on first turn, that's insane to me lmao

As good as this vid was of a duel playing out with explanations and as fun as it was watching a thunder dragon deck pop off like that I would of really liked a video that including a discussion of the question in the title. I am a master duel thinking of playing in paper and wanted to hear about some of the differences in playing in each way.
You miscalculated turn 3, Union Carriers effect gives Thunder Dragon Colossus an extra 1k attack, dealing 8300 clean.
I'm quite fond of the banish (exile) and graveyard effects, even if I'm primarily a Commander player.
MD players be like: It glows I click.

Very entertaining video and duel, i loveeeee TD so watching adam playing it just feels nice bc i run in MD likely the same cards with a few personals twist. In the other hand been wondering for a while if i should go for orcust as well they seem fun too lol
I personally don’t agree with the hawk summoning dark. I think it should have been roar that you summoned. Reason being that roar and aloof still make union carrier, then roar can summon dark. In this case I would just make a knightmare unicorn with roar, white dragon, aloof. Roar c1, Unicorn c2, white c3. This chain blocks both unicorn and roar which will basically guarantee you a monster on board and plays around crescendo. Summon dark off roar. Link unicorn + dark into accesscode. Dark c1, accesscode c2. Guarantee search for TD fusion. Fuse for titan (using hawk, matrix, and dark). This is assuming there are no other cards on opponent’s board. Then swing for game. To me it’s just the safer way and in the event that accesscode gets impermed and you don’t have enough for game you can always summon the black dragon and link into union carrier afterwards. (Of course if accesscode did get impermed you’d change your targets for TD so you can just pop them with titan; still the same end result) I just love thunder dragons so much and haven’t stopped playing the deck since 2019. I’ve just adapted to every format since then to keep playing it. Like a couple formats ago it was DPE Titan control (DPE target titan and another card was busted; titan banish roar/dark to save itself for advantage was just insane) This past format was PUNK thunder (chaos ruler is a pretty dumb card ngl. And now bystial thunder. Seriously, I love this deck so much and will probably never drop it. Glad to see that more people love the deck as well. ❤

TD's aren't really vulnerable to nibiru. I don't think i ever got nibiru'd in master duel when playing them.
I personally play red eyes gemini deck with skill drain with tyrants temper, dark magician the dragon knight via hex fusion with dragon shield, localized tornado double transmigration prophecy, and a bunch of negate attacks such as quaking mirror force, swords of revealing light, and dark sanctuary avoiding easy otk via serial spell and inferno fire blast unless theyre being sweaty no ash blossom instead i run snow rabbit i havent played much over the 16 years ive been interested sis plays fairys on dotr so imma introduce her to drytron before she knows the meta try and get her to like it so shes not a meta slave lol

The Master Duel player put up an admirable fight, but she was playing Master Duel format and rules. To really test her mettle as a player, I'd like to see a best of 3 TCG match in the current Isuzu Tear format.

When I started master duel the most annoying deck to me was Drytron and my solution was to go first and summon Colossus
Have Adam, Leoni, Thoralf and Carl play a goat format round Robin tourney. Warrior toolbox, chaos control, Chaos turbo and empty jar.

dont know about the buttons, but if you play one deck enough, you just learn timing well - i play lot of marincess and maybe only effect i would forgot about is sea otter in GY
