I'm a mod on the Ryan Hall Y'all channel and we were Live Streaming as this tornado went through Andover. I am so incredibly grateful to wake up this morning and hear that there were no significant injuries known at this time, and only a few have gone to the hospital. I hope they all recover quickly and completely. My heart goes out to those that lost so much, property-wise, but again so thankful that's all they lost! Absolutely fantastic reporting by this crew!
I have never seen such exact, real-time reporting in all of my 65 years! May God keep you all safe, (especially the Storm Chasers), so you can keep doing this amazing service for a long time!!!

🙏Thoughts and prayers for all those affected.🙏 I survived the May 29, 2019 Lawrence - Linwood - Bonner Springs tornado. My best advice to anyone is to accept the help offered. People reach out because they care, there is no shame in being a victim. It's not a handout, it's a steadying hand. Feel free to reach out if you, like we didn't know where to start.
probably wont be any rebuilding any time soon. the insurance payout will probably not even cover the framing costs, much less the dry-in, roofing, sheetrock and finishing. hyperinflation FTW!

As someone who is interested in severe weather, I was watching the radar and models very closely yesterday. Everyone knew all the conditions were right in tornado alley, specifically in Kansas and Nebraska, for a significant day. Truthfully I think it could've been much worse, the conditions were ripe for it. Still tragic when any Tornado hits a populated area like this. This thing spun up very quickly and I watched it happen live from both radar coverage and live streams of storm chasers in the area. Hoping for the best.
Just crazy that people have mini computers in their hands and can see these cyclones of chaos in real action.. been seeing some really wild videos since December about these storms...
If you look closely at the homes in the video, you may ask yourself why one home has it's roof and the ones on either side don't. Look at the lumber used. 2X6 (and above) framing holds a roof! 2X4 pre-fab does not. The builders KNOW this and so do insurance companies. I am retired from construction now but have seen this EVERY time concerning "NaderJuice". Also, pad-lock down your garage doors.
These all look like fairly newer homes. They would have to be becuse Andover was almost completely wiped off the map a few years ago and had to rebuild. Now you can see what and how homes got dammaged and what can be done to improve the structure to stand up better Like hurricane windows and earthquake type tie downs to the foundation. As well as garage door materials. I think it would take more to blow in a thick wood door over a metal door. Why not beef up a houses weak points It can save you money and heartbreak in the long run. Whats a few extra bucks. With our current price surge in lumber in 2022 this will cost more to fix then if you had used better systems on the house to start with.
Those homes didn't fail from building material deficiencies, they got directly hit by a tornado. Hurricanes and earthquakes are different animals. Look at all the brick buildings that were destroyed in Mayfield & Andover's YMCA. If you get hit, that's it.
Looks like Kansas is a very pretty state but I could not live there with all the tornadoes. My heart goes out to all those effected by it. With a shortage of building materials this is going to take awhile.
I agree! I live in the Applachian mts. of Western Maryland. In the 1990's we had an F-4 tornado , thank God nobody was hurt or killed! Tornadoes in these mountains are very, very rare!

The same storm hit Wakarusa Kansas! It had lost it's intensity by then but was still very powerful! I was underneath my house which has a crawl space with a cellar. I sat looking out one of the windows and it was wicked straight winds if not spinning winds! I watch as a very large tree in the yard snapped like a twig and crushed my boat. A fifty footer I was planning on taking out! Lol I have a tent garage with classic car in it and it is still there! That's why I think it was still tornadic as it took the tree and left the tent! Almost like the storm was a living breathing demon!
Listen to the warnings. Take them seriously. Listen to POW weatherman and Weatherman Plus for live coverage ahead of the storm. Prayers for healing and rebuilding.
I didn't know about the tornado hitting the town until I turned on my phone. So yes I was a little late in praying that the tornado wouldn't hit the town, but I am glad that there weren't any deaths.
@@Tmhen I don't have a very good answer for that, I wish I did. I know that God is a marcyful God and if He had wanted anyone I am sure that He would have taken them. But as far as I know no one in Andover was killed. And the tornado that hit that city was an EF3.

@@marilynnjacobsen1077 agree, even sub terrain levels with strong domes to make them more resistant to such severe damage, I guess its just not conventional building processes so its not something they really look at doing. Maybe something where you would just have to replace a damaged dome instead of an entire home. I guess the thing is it is not appealing lol, if you drove through a city and everyones home is underground there's not much to see I guess lol. I know bc he was cutting in all throughout the NFL DRAFT while there was a tornado in Geary County around 7pm and KSN played "The Blacklist" in its entirety. By 8pm, ALL of the channels started breaking in, and STAYED ON, despite the Tornado Warnings being downgraded to Thunderstorms, smh.. Of course they were off the air after primetime. Convenient for their ratings, but I changed the channel.
That very well may be true...? There may should be 'Only Government Involvement' when these types of Events Occur. Although, Government would need to be more involved in Public Works, mostly they would need to stop being so cheap and would need to Collect Taxes for such Policies and Works.
So now is where all these people rebuild their houses in the exact same spot and then wait for it to happen again so they can be so surprised I'm not trying to sound like a hater or anyting but my whole life I've been here about all these tornadoes in Kansas ripping everything to pieces over and over again what's going on why do they keep living there
You choose to live in an area with a high chance of tornadoes, you're essentially _'rolling the dice'._ I hate the political climate of Oregon, but even lightening is rare here west of the Cascade mountains simply because there isn't enough time for storms to build strength as they roll in from the Pacific. Prayers to all in this area, but they did 'choose'.

@@jaihatch Before you look dumb again? Why don't you do a little research about storms in this state. Oregon gets a lot of rain, but almost zero severe storms. Snow? Almost never unless you go up into the mountains. Hurricanes? (this is where you showed your stupidity) Wildfires? Only affects you if you live in a wooded area. And anyplace east of the Mississippi is far to crowded for me.
I'll take a liberal state over tornado ally ANY DAY! Not only are the states east of the Mississippi stormy? But they are VERY DARK (if you get my meaning). You can't swing a chicken leg without hitting one.

Wow neighbor helping neighbor. When you think of blessings, and who truly gives blessings. Is it in the house or is it in the heart? Why would God send His son in the world to be hung on a tree? Who put His son on what we know as the cross? They said to Jesus Christ “ do you not know I have the power to let you go “ Jesus said you would never have this power if it never was given to you from my Father. The blessings are not with silver and gold. The blessings do not come from neighbor helping neighbor. The blessings are knowing the truth that will set you free. We have more death by wars. God is compassion and merciful, He sent His son because of love. You think about who is the neighbor; God is the God of the living not the dead. Jesus Christ said let the dead go bury the dead, you come follow me into an everlasting life. You will never find God in a building, how do we know the son? We see Him in the neighbor who has Him in their heart and mind. We see this every day not after the storm. Jesus said seek God with all your heart, mind and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself. how are you going to rebuild when unavailable materials are 3 times the cost of the assessed value of the home?
The stick homes in tornado ally do not stand up. Why not build dome homes that can withstand high winds?
Replacement cost coverage on insurance policy. As for material supplies, that's altogether different.

I was working nightshift at Kansas Masonic Home and the hail therafter was crazy. My coworker is from Uganda and she was scared out of her mind

I agree! I live in the Applachian mts. of Western Maryland. In the 1990's we had an F-4 tornado , thank God nobody was hurt or killed! Tornadoes in these mountains are very, very rare!

The same storm hit Wakarusa Kansas! It had lost it's intensity by then but was still very powerful! I was underneath my house which has a crawl space with a cellar. I sat looking out one of the windows and it was wicked straight winds if not spinning winds! I watch as a very large tree in the yard snapped like a twig and crushed my boat. A fifty footer I was planning on taking out! Lol I have a tent garage with classic car in it and it is still there! That's why I think it was still tornadic as it took the tree and left the tent! Almost like the storm was a living breathing demon!
I'm form Wichita and I had never heard of a town called Wakarusa until now. Kansas has a lot of small towns

I didn't know about the tornado hitting the town until I turned on my phone. So yes I was a little late in praying that the tornado wouldn't hit the town, but I am glad that there weren't any deaths.
@@Tmhen I don't have a very good answer for that, I wish I did. I know that God is a marcyful God and if He had wanted anyone I am sure that He would have taken them. But as far as I know no one in Andover was killed. And the tornado that hit that city was an EF3.

Maybe something where you would just have to replace a damaged dome instead of an entire home. I hate the political climate of Oregon, but even lightening is rare here west of the Cascade mountains simply because there isn't enough time for storms to build strength as they roll in from the Pacific.

Before you look dumb again? Why don't you do a little research about storms in this state. Oregon gets a lot of rain, but almost zero severe storms. Snow? Almost never unless you go up into the mountains. Hurricanes? (this is where you showed your stupidity) Wildfires? Only affects you if you live in a wooded area. And anyplace east of the Mississippi is far to crowded for me.
I'll take a liberal state over tornado ally ANY DAY! Not only are the states east of the Mississippi stormy? But they are VERY DARK (if you get my meaning). You can't swing a chicken leg without hitting one.
Better build back GREEN! Geodesic Dome a? Underground housing? I think if I lived in the Mid -West it would get very old constantly cleaning up tornado disasters! Wow neighbor helping neighbor. When you think of blessings, and who truly gives blessings. Is it in the house or is it in the heart? Why would God send His son in the world to be hung on a tree? Who put His son on what we know as the cross? They said to Jesus Christ “ do you not know I have the power to let you go “ Jesus said you would never have this power if it never was given to you from my Father. The blessings are not with silver and gold. The blessings do not come from neighbor helping neighbor. The blessings are knowing the truth that will set you free. We have more death by wars. God is compassion and merciful, He sent His son because of love. You think about who is the neighbor; God is the God of the living not the dead. Jesus Christ said let the dead go bury the dead, you come follow me into an everlasting life. You will never find God in a building, how do we know the son? We see Him in the neighbor who has Him in their heart and mind. We see this every day not after the storm. Jesus said seek God with all your heart, mind and soul, and love your neighbor as yourself. The grave will come, but not everyone will be with the creator of all that is seen and unseen. I been homeless 6 years not welcome, if I am not welcome then why would I welcome them. God is not welcome now, why would He welcome them later. God told us these storms will come……
