I am the son of a tornado chaser, seen hundreds, but this is the most vivid one I've ever seen. No distortion, no rain wrap, not too dark, didn't match the clouds behind, just perfect. My heart goes out to those affected. That being said, this is one of the most beautiful tornados I've ever seen.
15 years ago me and a few others from my class helped plant some of those trees around the lake and old event center. I made an effort to visit the park every year since then to see how they’ve been growing. To see them getting blown away like that, It’s hard to watch 😞
So sorry dude. That really sucks. It's wild to think how little control we really have over our futures... but it's no reason not to get up and try again because one day, hopefully, it'll all be worth it.
It really does look like it could be, doesn't it? I doubt it is though, judging by other close up footage available as well as the slower, more natural looking motion of items farther from the funnel at the same time. It would almost be more comforting in a way if it turned out that it was sped up, because being real, wow...amazing but terrifying. It helps to understand better just how these things can be so destructive and deadly, even the smaller ones like this.
Just visited Andover last summer and swam in the actual YMCA that 22’ drove a car into a water ride there. Exciting yet sad. Ryan Hall Y’all first made me aware of this on his live stream as it happened.
Everyone praising the American Flag, but the other two were actually still fully flying while it was only hanging on by one loop. Just amazed all three survived.
The Tri-State tornado of March 18, 1925, killed 695 people in Missouri (11), Illinois (613), and Indiana (71). It pull a child from the arms of her mother she hut a lamp post so hard she split in two. So for those that say a tornado is harmless stop watching movies.
What was scary about this tornado, other than the trees that were being sucked out, is that it was accelerating and that the funnel clouds were dipping before going back up and vice versa. Imagine how long the tornado is far from above when up close.
It's amazing, scary, and informative to see how instantaneously the tornado changes direction once it meets the land. There really isn't any time to outrun it and no way of knowing whch way it will turn within the spilt-seconds it does. Amazing and terrifying at once.
If you zoom close enough... You can see that white suv chevy tahoe or gmc yukon slightly lifting up as the tornado aproaches the parking lot and across behind the building 😮
Sad to see all the damage, on the flip side this is excellent footage that someone may be able to use to build the damaged areas back stronger. Video shows great view of how tornados cause so much damage.
@@Trahzy Yes it did!, according to Wikipedia, this chaotic EF3 tornado have peak winds of 264 mph and rated EF3 based on the damage it caused. Making the 2022 Andover tornado the strongest since the El Reno, Oklahoma tornado of May 31st, 2013 (the most recent 300 mph tornado)
@maximumfainstein3335 The 2022 Andover tornado was not 264 mph. Also, 264 mph is an EF-5. The one in 1991 was 260 mph. The article you read is false, please research it more thoroughly.

scary how calm everything was before the Tornado even entered the picture...
The way it sweeps everything towards it is insane and its not even passing directly on it and the force close to it its amazing wow
I really thought they sped the video up at the end. Those winds hit incredible speeds.

@dacoge It isn't sped up, this thing was spinning at 155 mph. One hit the same town in '91 but it was almost a mile wide and 260 mph.
I've watched this video so many times. I keep seeing new things here and there in it I've missed. It truly is an amazing shot.
Old Glory still flies!
i was pulling for old GLORY to still be there
Only because it was not in its path
When the tornado begins to come towards City Hall, is really terrifying.
When a 🌪️ isn't traveling sideways that isn't good. It's coming towards YOU
Or moving away, but I wouldn’t take the chance
Incredibly violent rotation.
At the horizon: meh. It's a tiny funnel. When close: Holy moly! That's intense!!
that is a vantage point I would never have thought of! amazing

If I had to describe tornadoes in one sentence it would be “fascinatingly eerie” when watched from a safe distance
Everyone praising the American Flag, but the other two were actually still fully flying while it was only hanging on by one loop. Just amazed all three survived.
The American flag is the focus, not the others. Period.
I bet the Flags were RIPPED
Wow, those trees got ripped out and disappeared. Imagine what that power can do to a person(s) just walking right there.
If a person may be blown in the air so high.

hello Hi ❤💜🇮🇳💫😊
It’s the fact how it’s a funnel then a massive tornado
Wow those are some well constructed flags lol.

@thegrays5108 HEEL YEAH
God this is so heartbreaking for me, I used to live in andover until 2018 and moved to Texas, when i see these videos of the destruction I cry.
Especially since it was 31 years after the fatal EF-5 tornado in 1991
Whoa! Scary!
Trees out front of the building just got sucked up like no big deal.

When its not moving left and right it is coming towards you.
Nice to see the tornado use the road and not walk on the grass 4:18
Did anyone else notice the tornado opened the fuel cap door on the SUV as it went by?
Ripped it right off!
didn't notice until you said it
Quite the observationist. Good catch!
More violent than I remember. That one random estimation of 200mph winds seems reasonable now.
I bet those flags were RIPPED after the tornado passed.
Wow! Those flags were stronger than I thought!
Cause they made in the USA. One of the few things that didn't came from China.
Well its not like it was in the tornado path. If it was the whole pole would be thrown a mile away and probably impaled into something.
And the American Flag was still attached to the pole . 👏🏻🇺🇸
Wow!! That was awesome...cut to 4:12 and on for the best part.
