Hello, lovers of good food, potatoes again, they are such a grateful ingredient that you could have a different option on your table every day for a whole month. And it will be great every time.
Today, therefore, the Swiss, almost national, food - rösti. Pancake made of grated raw potatoes, fried in butter or lard.
Today, we have the pancake itself, but there are also variants in which there is cheese, bacon, sometimes even added vegetables... All of them are amazing, and once you master this basic one, you can actually master them all.
I burnt my rösti a bit today, this cast iron pan with an enamel coating from Lidl is already annoying me a bit. It's very effective in appearance, but the performance is a little weak :-D
I grate the potatoes on a julienne grater, but you can also use a regular grater.
Rösti can be eaten empty, but also as a side dish, for example traditionally with sausage and cabbage, or with a creamy sauce with meat and mushrooms.
