Girl, I took like 3 hrs pin curling my hair for the first time! 😭 but I need to do it again and again so I can get used to it
aaahh yeah it can definitely be a struggle when you get started... but you got this! I hoped it turned out well!
@@NadiasNook1 i used the lotta body lotion and yes! It made my hair super crispy lol I’m most definitely going to try out that home made lotion of yours 😂 your hair looks so smooth. Mine is so dry looking….
@@jenniferelizabeth4402 aaah I have definitely had that happen before when I tried using mouse to set my curls.... it was bad. I think I tried brushing that out for like an hour before I gave up 😂 At least you got a lot of practice rolling your pin curls :D And flaxseed setting lotion should definitely help with that dry look!
@@NadiasNook1 Oh my goodness! 😂 Your hair so gorgeous. & thank you so much! ♥️
@@jenniferelizabeth4402 aaah thank you!
LOVE your tutorial ❤️
I've looked at many for information before my first try.
This is the only one anyone will need. Thank you !!!!!
Looks stunning!!
Always do my hair like this! It's healthy and glamurous!😊
Yes! I love how elegant it looks too!
Healthy and glamorous. Great description
I have naturally wavy / curly hair and did my hair up in pincurls for my wedding. Brushed out with a boar bristle brush and used a curling iron to tame any weird bits. Lately I have been a little more natural and less heat / chemically on my hair, and I still use pincurls to tame the occasional misbehaving curl. It's like putting it in a time-out until it learns to cooperate with its curl neighbours!
I don't use gel or hairspray - just a tiny bit of lightweight leave-in conditioner from Giovanni. I also have one of those hair mist sprayers that I use to dampen my hair with some distilled water to lighten the leave-in up.
I finally picked up some of those alligator prong hairclips, so I'm looking forward to trying your technique with the raised and flat mixture! Thanks for putting out this video.
How did it go!
Because I have curly hair too and don't know if my hair would actually be able to turn out like this the way I want😭
@@crossfire7874 Mine turned out amazing. I hate using products in my hair (spray, gel). My hair is naturally 2b/c and will hold a finger-wrapped spiral curl all day. Your hair may vary.
Edited to add that the alligator clips will give root lift, but my hair is too low density for it to look right, so I have set them aside for now.
Good luck!
This is beautiful! Thank you!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Just found your channel, and I just love the concept of it, keep up the work! 😊
Thank you so much 😊 I'm so glad you enjoy my content! Hopefully I'll have a new video up tomorrow! 💕
What is your homemade setting lotion?
Try flipping your head without brushing out first. A good 4-5 times then brush out. During the day if you are out at a restaurant, in the restroom flip your hair again a fee tomes and it gives you a refresh and more volume on your hair.
Love doing this and it’s less effort for me than using a curling iron
I have pin straight silky smooth limp hair so when my hair is clean it falls in my face and even a dutch or french braid isn't enough to keep it out of the way, I found wet sets, beyond changing my look without cutting my hair off, allows my bangs to stay out of my face
What way do you roll them clockwise or counterclockwise?
In your experience, does it make a difference which hair spray you use at the very end wheb the curls are brushed out? Also, you mention the curls lasti 4-5 days. How do you maintain them? Just brush them out in the morning? Do you have qny particular method to sleep in them so that they take the least damage?
Hi please upload a video on how to make your setting lotions recipe ❤️ new subscriber
Thank you so much for subscribing! I actually just filmed it and it should be out sometime next week! I just have to finish editing this weeks video before I can finish it up!
I finally got around to finishing the video on how I make my setting lotion if you are still interested in seeing it ❤️❤️❤️ czcams.com/video/hkBBlaErqek/video.html
would this work the same with wavy 2a hair?
What kind of brush do you use?
What is your setting lotion recipe? I definitely need a good setting lotion and a homemade one sounds like a good solution.
It's super easy! I make it by boiling 1 cup of water with 1 teaspoon of whole flaxseed for 7 minutes, I then strain out the flaxseed with a clean panty sock (A cheesecloth would work too!) And let the mixture cool down, then I transfer it too a spray bottle and it's ready to be used! (I do make a new batch every time I set my hair because it's done pretty quickly but you could keep it in the fridge for about a month if you like) You can also add some essential oil if you'd like to add some smell but I personally don't :) I might end up making a video about how I make it but it's so simple it might not be very interesting to watch 🤷 Let me know if you have any more questions or need any clarification!
@@NadiasNook1 Thank you so much for the exploration. I have some flax seed gel currently frozen in my freezer, I will get it out next time I will set my hair with curlers or something similar.
@@ladyoftimeandspace Oooh it's so smart to freeze it! And foam rollers always work well for me too!
What kind of cut do you have?
Do you find that your curls seperate back into individual curls at any point? Perhaps i'm just not brushing enough but mine always go back to little ringlets 5 minutes after brushing! Also, thank you for the great video :) I've been having a lot of fun pin curling my hair
I'm so glad you are having such fun pin curling your hair! My hair does kinda spring out of it's wave after a few hours but just a few passes with a brush will usa fix that for me. Like you mentioned you might want to try brushing through a bit more a or maybe try to pin your waves in place, spray with workable hairspray(something you can still brush through later) and let it dry for a few minutes before removing the clips that kept your waves in place. I hope any of this helps!💕
@@NadiasNook1 Thank you so much!! ♥️
Any tips on preserving the set afterwards?
oooohh It depends a lot on how much time I have but here are a few options you can try! If I have enough time and patience I will rol up my curls in foam rollers before going to bed and tying it of with a scarf, now I'm not actually doing a full roller set just a rough set and I spray my hair with lightly setting lotion after putting it in the rolelrs. The seceond option I often use is just kind of scrunching my hair up agianst my head and tying on a scarf to sleep this is a lot quicker! And finally if I really don't want to do anything with my hair before sleeping I just pull it in a loose bun on top of my head to keep it out of my way when I sleep. It also helps to do updo's during the day in which you pull up part of your hair back up in pincurls, this will help keep your waves nice and defined as the days go on. And finally everyone's hair is different! I know my hair kept my pincurls a lot tighter when it was shorter but now that it's quite long the heaviness of my hair tends to pull out the curl quicker then before, also it's so important to set you hair with a setting lotion that works for your hair! I hope any of this helps!
@@NadiasNook1 thank you very much!! I'm going to try it the next time I do my roller set
Wait, Nadia, what's in your homemade setting spray?
Sorry for my late response! I have a video on how I make my setting spray here: czcams.com/video/hkBBlaErqek/video.html But it's basically a watered down flax seed gel! Hope that helps!
My question to you is how do you keep your curls together? Whenever I do sponge curls my loses it’s curl from the tips quickly :( What type of brush should I use?
I tend to use my tangle teaser which works really great for me! But it's more important that I focus my setting spray on the end off my hair. So when I'm dampening my hair I make sure to focus on the ends and that helps a lot! Also using the right setting spray makes heaps of difference to me! I hope that helps!
I just started trying to curl my hair with various heatless methods and my sponge curls NEVER stay no matter what I do! Pin curls are the only ones that don't completely fall out when I brush :/
I do have some practice with pincurling, my hair is maye 10cm shorter than yours and I need about 1 ½hours. It's crazy 😵
I tried it but the brushing part went so wrong, and I look like a mix between lauren bacall and farrah fawcett 😭 I guess my hair's not right for this
you look like susan from narnia!
I'm not sure the bobby pins can hold my hair. even the regular hair clips fall out of my head :( help
oooh a few things that helped me with my bobby pins staying in place is 1. Don't use too much hair when rolling your curl, 2. Make sure your bobby pin catches both the hair you rolled and the hair that is tight to your scalp. 3. use two bobbypin in a cross formation over your curl if you feel one is not enough, crossing them also gives them some extra grip, and finally 4, tying your hair up with a scarf after pinning your hair helps keeps your pincurls in place especially if you are going to sleep on them. This should also take of a bit of pressure of your bobbypins. I hope these tips can help you!
Lana, is that you?
