- It has been awhile but with season 9 finally wrapped up and season X of DEATH BATTLE beyond the horizon, it is time for my yearly tradition of ranking said season. a season with more disverty in franchises than most other modern seasons. lots of good apples ripe for the picking, but at the same time a good portion of bad decisions and mediocrity. so lets talk about that.

I'm just gonna say the same thing as in Jonathan Frostathan (check him out). Even if I don't agree with all of these opinions, it's really refreshing to see more and different opinions in the DB community that isn't just copypasted from Biff and Nem's
Also, FINALLY. Someone who doesn't think Jason vs Michael is dogshit
Thing is trunks was only destroying silver when they were up close silver had a clear advantage when they were a far away like I wouldn’t think that you would expect that silver would overpower trunks in a physical fight especially since he’s not exactly super well-known for physicality
No matter what anyone says, you cannot deny that season 9 is probably one of the best overall seasons of Death Battle we ever got.

Silver vs trunks is the best of the season, one of my favorites ever, and the song is probably my favorite Yates song

Tbh while I don't necessarily agree with a lot of the opinions here I appreciate how they were communicated and you provided some valid reasoning for why you felt that way. It kinda sucks that a lot of people are out here like "OOOOOOO GREAT ANOTHER HATER OF WHATEVER'S POPULAR EWWW" when that's really not what this is. Literally all this crap is about is the placement of one fight that has good and bad qualities, which is really dumb, but to be expected from the community. Y'all are a bunch of hypocrites.

Interesting opinions, personally I really adore Tanjiro vs Jojo and Spongebob vs Aquaman. I don't get all the hate with Silver vs Trunks, but then again I'm not that familiar with those series. Still nice vid
I have a question say you were in control of season nine and you had to eat use every single episode no changes nothing in terms of the matchup but you can change the analysis and the animation what would you do

sorry, it was hard to tell if this was a joke or not. Given that certain people dont like it when you call silver mid. they could have silver use his psychokinesis to parry away trunks sword swings or have him use the warp ring to get rid of trunk's summons. just anything that wasn't just silver doing the exact same thing over and over again.
@@TheGrandbull well yes those could’ve been cool to see they would’ve taken momentum away from the fight, been too minuscule to notice, been idiotic for the characters to do, or all three (like as far as I know you can’t move a warp ring after you throw it so imagine if Trunk’s summons just run into a portal that isn’t moving and get taken out of the fight that way or for the sword there isn’t really any good way you can showcase that without pausing the fight or having it be a blink and you miss it moment) also why do my joking exaggerations always being taken seriously, am I just that convincing or something
I think at that point its just better to not do archie vs heroes and just do the regular version of the matchup. Because all the stuff they did in the fight was stuff you can do with the regular version of the matchup. you’d be surprised what peeps would believe online lol. But i think my comment was an overreaction. So thats my bad

Here’s my ranking: Harley Quinn vs jinx (quick side note I don’t give a rats ass about the analysis so I’m just gonna skip that) I think it’s a good opener to the season it has some good fighting scenes, good banner, amazing effects and good music I would put this in B next is zatanna vs scarlet wi- ZZZZZZ this episode makes me wannna go to sleep for how boring it is zatanna is really the only person that makes it interesting with her cool abilities like how she summoned a copy of Superman but outside of that quite literally everything is MID c tier next is tanjiro vs Jonathan this episode is amazing good music, amazing animation especially the hand drawn segments and it matches the characters personality PERFECT really my only complaint is that the death is kinda dumb like bro you really gonna protect the sister of the person you just killed like really but still this gets an S next is homelander vs Omni man….. do I really need to say anything great music, great animation, great death really the only problem is how short it is but still S tier next is magneto vs tetsuo again do I really have to say much it’s basically the same thing I said about Omni man vs homelander but it’s longer S tier next is boba fett vs predator this one is eh the animation is pretty janky and there’s really nothing else to talk about it D tier next is James Bond vs John wick (yes I know I skipped over raiden vs Excalibur but I really don’t care about the matchup so I’m just gonna skip it) this is basically a start off rough but finish strong type of episode the beginning is what we in the business call 🚮 the animation quite literally looks like something off the PlayStation 2 thankfully it picks back up and it’s more of fast pace action with not too many lethal blows being made and the death is honestly kinda bad but I’ll gloss over it C tier next is Black Adam vs Apocalypse this fight brings out the HYPE in me it has such cool shots with fast paced action and impactful blows with some good music as well the death is kinda eh but that’s okay S tier then we have (oh boy) silver vs trunks now let me just get this out this fight is SO overhated I really like what they did with this the animation is good with some of the shots being absolutely sick like when trunks blast in his god form went from blue to red the music is also really good and I also love what they did with the cards that summoned gt goku and pan if I’m being honest I give this an S tier honestly this is one of my favorite dragon ball episodes next up we have SpongeBob vs aquaman I like this episode it perfectly gets that SpongeBob type of choreography down to the wire and the animation is consistent and doesn’t fall off with some nice music as well A tier next is Jason vs Michael and wow was this disappointing this is my all time most wanted death battle and it really didn’t deliver I liked then scenes when Jason vs micheal actually fought and going for one survivor the music is honestly forgettable and the animation is uhh some shots is decent other shots is awful C tier next up Sauron vs lich king and now we’re back to bangers the animation is good the effects are stunning the music is good and the matchup itself is RAW S tier next up is deku vs asta…….. like what do you want me to say there’s nothing memorable C tier and then lastly we have the finale gogeta vs vegito… why was this the finale no like for real why but despite that questionable choice this episode is heat stunning effects, amazing animation, great music, some actually good jokes and some absolutely fire transformations this goes straight in S tier and that is my list tell me if I missed something in this very long comment
Why are you such a A55h0le towards anything sonic related?! Like Shadow vs Ryuko wasnt perfect, but it wasnt trash and the song wasnt even cringe and Trunks vs silver isnt boring and the banter wasnt cringe, this episode was one of the top 3 best episodes of season 9.

As a Black Clover fan I am mixed on Deku vs Asta. While I do like that DB is talking about my favorite manga, the mischaracterization and the fight leaning into Deku feat. Asta vibes do disappoint me. It is as I say, while everyone might want their favorite series on DB, everyone fears they will get a bad or sub-par episode. I also dislike Deku, so seeing him die was a plus.
