Suddenly a large demonstration board appeared on my right and our position was being quickly set up. Sensation-seeking spectators were rushing towards our table. In addition, Tal’s teammates were crowding around our board, resembling organ pipes.” - Hecht

I feel like you should explain a bit more why the final position is lost - sure, white gets a queen but so does black after 1 ...Rxg5 2. Kxg5 d3 3. g7 d2 4. g8Q d1Q. We all know that queen vs queen endgames can be difficult to win (even with an extra pawn), however white has the move 5. Qb3+ forcing a trade of queens and leaving white with an easily winning K+P endgame.

If I have learned something is that Tal sacrifices a queen and 3 pieces in every middlegame, but 20 moves later he ends up up a pawn in a winning endgame.

I am a chess noob, only discovered about Tal a couple of months ago. By playing very offensively and giving up pieces (trying to imitate Tal) I managed to win some games against a 2000 elo engine in chess pro.
