Whats the low and high temp? And whats the intervals for the temp settings?
Great question! It runs 150-500 in 5 degree increments.
@@GrillSergeant that's awesome. Big selling point be able to go that low.
perfect for smoked jerky@@benh580
@benh580 that 150 and 5 degree increments has me sold already. Jerky is the most common thing i do on my smoker right now, and i might skip the vertical smoker and go with this instead
@@danielbabcock7004right I love using my smoker for jerky, when it’s cold the p setting is such a hassle. My pitboss starts at 180 my other pitboss is a vertical and starts out at 175. I’m using a dehydrator for jerky right now since it’s cold.
Pitboss made a big mistake making this only available at academy. 500 dollars to deliver it ..I will be ordering a traeger...thank you for making my decision for me pit boss
I have a Pit Boss from Lowes, not the biggest but great for me and this thing can cook some serious meat. From steaks, to burgers, to slow smoked meats, it does a great job.
I have about the cheapest one that they make and added a better controller to it...the thing works wonderfully...we use it a lot just to do quick hotdogs on for a tasty lunch and have done more complex smoking like our Thanksgiving turkey.
Just picked mine up yesterday. It’s a beast, heavy loading it up. Can’t wait to break it in
Great review, has some sweet features. They need that grate system for all their smokers.
Outstanding video mate! That new hopper is really special. So jealous and look forward to your cooks on it.
So many awesome features! I’ve had a fire in the hopper before, the angled auger is too cool. Can’t wait to see whatcha make in it. Cheers Sarge!
ive had the same. i have a pit boss 850. Love it but i had issues where i didnt realise the fire burnt longer into my auger and caused it to rust. Was fun fixing that. Now i clean it out every use. This Titan makes it look so much easier.
Awesome review Andrew, looks like a beast! Definitely cool are the shelves. Can’t wait for some ribs on this unit. Cheers brother 🍻
Dang bro! Nice video! Very clear and easy to understand!
Interested to see how the racks handle smoke buildup on the rails and if that causes issues with movement.
Love the updates ! I have an old Traeger. Updated the internals to keep me going for now.
Been looking at horizontal smokers I have the Pit Boss Platinum Brunswick been using it for years now and love it
Amazing smoker! I still love my 850 Pro series.
Nice walk around of the upgraded features. It really does look like they thought of everything. Enjoy👍😊
They even thought of giving this to academy to sell it ..and charge 500 for shipping ..what a rip off
I've got a Pit Boss Electric Smoker and a Pit Boss griddle I love the thought that went into their products...
Thank you for your video! Looks like a solid machine with a lot of cool features. The auger (being diagonal) is intriguing to say the least being that is usually the part that first goes out or jams up. Time will tell, but this unit looks impressive overall.
Great review! Looks like a nice smoker with some great improvements over prior models.
Bought my 1150 last year and am very happy but that rack system is pretty sweet.
Wow!! I was planning on buying the series pro 1529 vertical smoker mainly for smoking jerky. However, after seeing this I am probably going with this. The slide out and adjustable and removable section racks is a game changer function. I like the pellet drop dispenser as well. I have a Laredo 1000 and love it. It is an awesome smoker at a great price. Haven’t had one problem with it after a dozen or so long cooks. I also have the portable one for the rv but have had several auger fires with the portable one. Otherwise it does a great job for smaller cooks. The burn pot redesign and vertical auger looks like the auger back burn issue will probably be solved with the titan. They need a redesign auger and pot on their portable unit.
Wish my Comp 1600 had those slide out grates. That’s a game changer. Love that it has the easy ash clean out tho. Has made my cleanups very easy so far
That’s an awesome grill. Love the long chamber and multiples levels. You can really stuff her full!
Would have liked to have 4 temp probes for a unit of this size.
Looks like one heck of a unit. Many people will not now how big of a deal some of those changes really are like the pellet feed system.
I’m excited to see how this bad boy runs!!!
Looks like a great addition
Also can’t wait for the biscuit test and a head to head cook against the 1600PSE!
Love your channel Sgt.
I can't wait for the new 1600 or 2000😮
This is definitely a Home Run from PB 👊🏻💨💨💨
Can’t wait to see this grill in action
Im a big fan of racks too! Usually large and firm works for me, lol! Seriously that is a great setup Andrew!
Pretty cool. I am still enjoying my Pro Series 1600
You were fortunate to find this new offering at a local supplier. I still have not laid eyes on the PB Pro series vertical that's been out over a year. I have 4 Lowes within 60 miles, they either have no vertical smokers or are trying to sell older models for same price as the newest Pro series model.
I like that they added the more smoke mode
I'm really curious about the accuracy of the internal temp sensor. Glad the rack system slides out.
That dog comment was exactly where I was going when I saw that bucket on the inside!!! Now if my GMG will just die already lol.
The removable burn pot is the biggest game changer here. I hate having to take the whole grill apart just to vacuum out the burn pot every time I use my grill.
Ok, I'm more than happy since 7months with my pb navigator 850. ....but this titan😮 is next level😂😂😂😂❤❤
I have two Rottweilers who I usually have outside with me whenever im working on the grill or smoker. They have never gone for the grease bucket, but if it drips on the ground clean up isle deck
Very Impressive! Gives me something to think about.
Wow nicest one I've seen. The only thing I wish they would of kept was the chimney exhaust
I have a PB 1150 and having to replace the controller after the first few cooks because it couldn't get past 250°. Putting on a flame tamer. To not get very much smoke. I really hope this delivers.
Looks like a beast! Would like to see how it does with wings!
i am looking to upgrade, i seem stuck between the titan and the recteq backyard 1000. great vid!
Great video, thanks
I had put some serious thought into getting a similar smoker for the pulled pork. I finally started using legit wood splits and the flavor is amazing. I don’t blame any of you backyard cooks for using a pellet smoker. No where near the labor of a stick burner.
Ran across this on FB. Came here to watch in better quality.
Very nice walk-through. Subscribed and will checkout your channel.
I want see spatchcock chicken, beef ribs, and bone-in pork shoulder.
Man the rapid fire ignitor is freaking awesome! Installed one in my Laredo 1000 and it really does have fire ignited in under 2 minutes.
I'm very interested in the VST. And the angled auger is great idea. Should help keep dust from accumulating in tube as well.
Love how PitBoss is taking notice to the Mods we do and are integrating them into new models.
I just returned my Laredo 1000 today! Was not impressed with the 1 hour + time to get the grill up to 450°
@markvalleys7072 yeah, the PID is a little too safe with the rise rate. I've never really had that much of a problem with it. But I also learned early on and use the Prime button as part of my startup routine.
@@scottsmith539 I was used to my Austin XL and sold it to buy the updated Onyx version. But I saw the Laredo and tried it out. Boy I was disappointed lol so I took it back and got the onyx. Reached 500° within 15 min
Good looking smoker and I like the improvements. What I would like to see is the addition of a smoke box like Camp Chef did. I really think that is a game changer. I am not sure why other manufacturers aren't doing the same.
Glad to see they fixed the burn pot. The Brunswick is a ticking time bomb with back burn.
Nice review.
Ribs, Baby Back, St. Louis, Pork Butt, Brisket, beef ribs, chicken, steak with seared finish
The only thing I would add to this smoker is a rotisserie option
That would be cool!
Lemme get a start to stop brisket tutorial with burnt ends on this baby. 🤤
Nice review, looks like a good one
Beast mode! 👀 🔥🔥
Those sliding grates are everything. I have the pit boss 1150. Now I need to find an excuse to buy this one 😂
I’ll look forward to reports on how it does. Thanks.
Nice, they FINALLY moved the internal temperature probe to the middle of the smoke instead of at the end where the hot air blows out and hits it, requiring you to modify the smoker with a blast deflector to get more of an accurate temperature reading.
That looks like one pretty bad azz pit. Nice job @pitboss and nice job @grillsergeant.....
I love the customizability, storage, change in burn pot and auger, and price. Im curious how difficult and time consuming cleaning will be after using this for a time.
Would love to have this one. We have had 2 pit boss pellet grills and love them, so out of curiosity how much is this bad boy and are they at Lowe's or home Depot?
I have been holding out to get the Pro 1600 on sale, however… this one looks really nice with some amazing extra features! Would love to see some nice NY Strips or Ribeyes slow smoked and reverse seared on this beauty!
This thing is 🔥 !
Looks like Pit Boss has outdone themselves again! I'm really liking the pull-out adjustable racks with this new design.
A lot of innovations on the Pittboss- hope they come out with a model that can be purchased from their website - for those of us that don’t have an Academy sports close
Wonder how good those screws will come undone, to remove racks, will work.
Has the firmware updated for tempereture or time? On the left side where the smokers temp rod is has the rail been rounded or is it still flat? (the heat from the firepot hits the temp rod directly if its not rounded) would have like to have seen a heat diffuser over the firepot for a more even temperature flow. All the other updates look good.
I have a Camp Chef that I am looking to replace. It has had an issue with the pellets getting moist from humidity if they are left in the feed tube all through the smoking season. So, I use the feed option to empty the tube out when done smoking each time to avoid this problem.
Does the PitBoss have the option to empty out the feed tube after draining the pellet hopper so that cant happen or is there a better way to prevent this?
The grill is not stored out in the open area just under a pergola protected from the rain.
When I was having issues with my Pro Series 6 they were telling me about this coming. Honestly, after the issues I've had with the Pro Series 6 I might be done with Pit Boss.
That is one nice looking grill. I have a question though. Normally you would put foil on the heat deflector for easy clean up. Doesn't look like you can do that for this grill with the searing mechanism. Would the grease clog that up or make it difficult to clean? You thoughts? Great review though!
If they would use a wireless thermometer it would have been a incredible pellet grill. I use a meater wireless thermometer which is extremely accurate. If Pitboss would use wireless thermometers it would even solve most of the customer complaints.
Great review. Looks expensive and a pain in the butt to assemble.
Academy offered free assembly 😂
Love it!! So what are you going to do with your Pro 1600 Elite?
Ah….im running out of room. 😂 😅
I bought a Laredo 1000 in January. I love it. Saw this one and now I loved the Laredo 1000. This is a beast!! I'd say smoke a brisket.
Surprised they didn't design a way to use wood chunks. Grilla and Camp Chef have both set the bar higher by allowing real wood to be used with their pellet grills.
Yeah that would be a really cool feature.
I did have a burn back through the auger and into the hopper in my Green Mountain. The worst part is that I had moved it into my garage not knowing this. Thank god it smoldered out, but the computer connections melted along with some wiring. I was going to go with a charcoal gravity feed smoker since the firebox and hopper are the same. Plus the electronics are on the other side of the grill. (Oklahoma Joe Tahoma) But this new firebox design might bring me back to a pellet grill.
Lots of nice features on this new smoker. First cook should be ribs
That’s a mean machine right there!! 👍🏼👍🏼🍺🍺
Hi there, thanks for all the vids!Do you know if they plan to sell the Titan in Europe, more precisely in Switzerland or Germany?
Thanks!
Love my boss 820 except for the junk app. That cleanout and auger angle look awesome, and the enclosed grease drip. Do u know if thats the only size, a little big for my needs, nice vid 👍
The competition line had multiple sizes but the Titan with these new features only comes in one size.
It's crazy how many redesigns Pitboss has done on their smoker. They've really tried to perfect it and spent time and money in their designs. My original lasted 5 yrs until the board started going wonky.
The crazy thing is you can buy a new board and get even more years out of it :)
I've had 3 burnbacks in mine. The angled auger is the only way to go.
My 1100 PS is getting a little long in the tooth, but still works amazing. I was going to purchase the 1600 Elite when the warranty ran out, but I think I want a Titan instead..I just do not live near any Academy sports. I guess it will be a road trip
How does the grease flow over the sear louvre from the left side?
Love my savannah but this one has my attention
Can't wait till he cook something
Is this powder coated or just painted steel?
I already have 4 smokers. Do I really need a fifth. Looks like I need sell some to get this one.
I want this model in Canada!!!
Good video and explanations. Just wondering on how easy it would be for someone that isn’t as nimble getting inside to clean out the burn pot and grease bucket. Would that be an issue for older adults that like to smoke meat?
I got that low to film what it looks like but if you want my Titan burn off video I show you how to remove it without getting down to low. Worst case, you can access the burn pot from the inside of the smoker, it’s just more of a hassle that way.
I want one.
one thing i love about pitboss so many choice's all very good. love my pit bosses. not seeing it on the pit boss website.?
thanks I was about to start looking
May be because it's supposed to be an Academy exclusive.
@@jasonmartin7137 I guess. No academy in my area
Weber Smokefire has the same type of auger feed system.
Hello, thank you for the video. I am thinking about picking this one up from my local Academy however I have a question as I am little restricted on how I get this to my backyard with dragging a very long way around. My idea is to store this in my garage and bring it through the house to the backyard when I want to use it. I know not the most logical idea, but that's all I got. So my question is exactly how wide is it? The PitBoss website says 64.7"L x 32.7"W x 50"H. It the 32.7W accurate from the very outmost points? Thanks in advance.
It’s more like 31” I’m wondering if they are measuring it with the racks pulled halfway out
Thanks for the run down. Bought my first pellet grill 2.5 months ago. This will probably be my upgrade. lol.
😂
😍I NEED that.
Sold out everywhere. Anyone know where I can order online?
will they sell this at any other retailer? sorta let down that its limited to a single seller.
why would you scoop pellets out the top of the hopper? The hopper empty handle seems like it could be bumped easily. The racks look nice, but I'm not seeing much of a reason move on from my camp chef. It's definitely a step up from the 36" pro I used to have.
Auger burn back is a real worry. My Pitboss Brunswick just lit my entire hopper overnight after a full cool down. No smoke shown until the next morning.
After a few months, do you have any significant issues with the app, WiFi, or Bluetooth connection? I have read several bad comments on Academy's website about connection issues.
Is there a cover.
