Why does the FAA take up to a year for the investigation ??That seems a ridiculously long time.
Lots of equipment testing, inspections. And data to look at. Remember the pilot is dead and they have to put the puzzle together. And also there more than one plane crash to investigate at a time.
I know of one investigation that is now going into third year. Not something that can be done in a few days . . .
