Considering this Batman survives a point-blank explosion and Christian Bale's Batman survived a skyscraper fall by landing on a car, I'm thinking Batman might be lying about the whole "no superpowers" thing
Probably has healing like Wolverine
He does have powers. Plot armor baby.
He should have multiple superpowers considering that in the world of DC "Thinking about an engine too hard" is enough to get you flash powers
that's just the polluted gotham air affecting his system
Maybe he has a meta gene that activated when his parents were killed but he didn't notice bc it is an invisible power. That may also explain how he was able to master so many languages, martial arts and meditation techniques. (Please note that I haven't actually watched The Batman or most live action movies. I prefer the cartoons and animated movies)
Lets not forget about spalling. When a bullet hits a hard enough surface, it has a good chance to shatter and send fragments out in a deadly ring. Imagine your armor stopping the bullets, only to have hundreds of jagged metal pieces fly into your neck and exposed chin anyways. Some body armor comes with spall coating to prevent this, but it does still happen.
@sidemenreact Warning ⚠️ This Link gives your device a Virus 🦠
Exactly my first thought...but what ab spalling.
Lvl IV body armor is pretty resistant to spalling, you'd have to hit it with .50 cal armor piercing rounds to have such an effect.
Like when the mandalorian used normal guns against Jedi
What about plot armor...?
According to a comic source, Batman's suit is made out of a "Titanium-Kevlar Triweave" SPECIALLY and custom made by Wayne Enterprises.
Basically, a comic book way to integrate real world science with plot armor.
Super heroes who debuted in spandex and long underwear are all turning into Ironman with each new iteration.
Not for this Batman. He's still year 2 and only working with Alfred.
@@somerandomname3124 that's... a year 1 Batman thing.
@@pyrotechnic1818 heard dc didn’t want reeves to do year 1 for some reason that’s y it’s year 2🤷🏾♂️
@@Wolfhunter5607 year 1 has been done to death. Not surprised
Another problem with the exposed jawline is that if that armor doesn't catch the whole bullet, there's a good chance the bullets will fragment and could send shrapnel flying upwards from his chest into his face.
1:30: So literally like all Atheist-CZcamsrs
@@slevinchannel7589 huh?
tldr; bullets can shatter into face
That's how Tupac and Biggie both died, not from getting hit directly, but from fragments and ricochets
You know how massive his jawline is?He probably practices on catching the bullets before it hits him.
Batman leaving his lower face exposed does actually have a good reason. He's constantly pulling off stunts and running and leaping from roof top to roof top so obviously that will get extremely exhausting, so he has to leave SOME space open to sweat, plus it lets him breath clearer.
And it helps him eat a woman out without risking his identity. I'm sure Selina, Talia, Shiva, Dinah, Diana, Harley, Ivy, Zatanna, Jezebel, Silver, and more really appreciate that.
@@vicenzostella1390 you know whats up🫵😛
Really seals in the flavor
I remember reading in a comic that his mouth is protected by some sort of gel that makes it fire resistant. A bullet to the jaw would still get him, however.
@@masedaace5473 I know in some of the cartoons his mask has a transparent bit that can slide out to cover his mouth when underwater but I've never heard of that before
Fun fact around 4:10The Theorist mentioned “combat boots probably picked up from the local army surplus store”, which is where The Riddler’s followers get their Riddle masks, also known as “Winter Combat Mask” in movie.
Known as such because iirc they are actually old military standard issue masks for winter in Russia. This may be a shock, but it gets cold there.
bridflu got 60% death count for humans and world economic Forum say in 100 days from 18th /January/2023 new pandemic will happen. I did my maths end date will be, 28th/April/ 2023
The chest plate (the baterang) of his suite seems to be consistently tougher than the rest of his body; in Batman Arkham Knight, Jason Todd points this out and tells his militia to aim for the joints and throat
This about batman's armor reminds me of why he had the yellow bat emblem. It is intentionally bright to daw gunfire to the most heavily armored part of the suit. He basically put a bullseye over the strongest place. Which is why it's a shame most movies leave it out
People aim for the chest anyways
@@hhj186 people who have been taught to use firearms do. It's the largest target with the most vital organs
It would have been cool to see some of the more classic colors of batman's suit in the movies. though it was also cool when they did real world applications to the armor.
I’m pretty sure the reason Batman doesn’t cover his face is so that the people he saves can se that he’s human and be a little calm. When Batman goes into combat against people like darkseid he wears armor that covers his face.
I think taking on multiple enemies at once is no less of an high intensity aerobic exercise which requires a lot of stamina & a lot of oxygen to perform.
Have you ever tried running while wearing a N95 mask, yep your stamina significantly reduces upto 60%(just for gravity of situation)
This is why his mouth is exposed to breathe easily
I guess he manage this flaw by covering his mouth with his gauntlet against bullets
@@adarshsatam4462 Meanwhile, Jason Todd, Tim Fox, Jace Fox and Cassandra Cain, who are regular human, wear fully covered masks and has shown not having a problem fighting.
And this version of Batman sucks, so no.
But you know. The explosion didn’t even burn his chin
@@tsnoob4669I intend to explain 'The Batman' specifically which claims or tries to look realistic(squirrel suit reference😒)

Matpat: let's hit 1 mil by the end of the month on style theorists.

Cool fact about kevlar. The original creator used Samurai armour as an inspiration for the weave and layering to make it more durable. I watched a documentary about the history of body armour and I thought it was so cool when I found that out.
Thanks for the info.
Makes sense.
Everything I find says it was made by accident and initially intended to be used as a new kind of racing tire. Maybe what you're saying is true, but nothing I've found so far supports it.
No results on google, sounds like weeb propaganda.
@@TONRG did you search for Kevlar body armor or just Kevlar. Kevlar is used in some tires.
One thing about his cowl is that it's stronger than it looks. During the scene at the docks, if you slow it down, we can actually see that a bullet hit the cowl, but it didn't do much damage, and he raised his arm to block the rest of the bullets.
Yeah, you would still have a massive headache afterword though.
@@boa2143658709 He was knocked unconscious afterward
Exactly, just because the round was stopped doesn't mean it doesn't come with draw backs.
I assumed it was pretty strong when he got closelined in the face with a bridge.
I think the best conclusion then would be that batman has those shock absorbing foams under his plated and fabric armor. It would also help with the gliding incident.
I love that style theory already has almost 1m and there’s still a week left in the month
As a veteran and fireams enthusiast, and HUGE theorist fan, this video is my favorite thing this week lol. Also, Winchesters and AR/M16 style rifles arent always chambered in 5.56/223. Also most military body armour is a ceramic plate (SAPI plate) coated to prevent spalling, and backed by thick kevlar ;)
Yeah, I was going to say that most Winchester Model 70s are chambered for more powerful rifle cartridges suited for hunting larger game, rather than intermediate cartridges.
Also, we never get a good look at the reciever/bolt of the bolt actions, so it could easily be any wood-stock bolt gun. Remington, Winchester, Savage, J.C. Higgins, a sporterized Mauser....
Seeing this go from just game theory to film, food and style theory is just amazing
Im happy to be here to see how amazing and big this channel has become
Can you do a theory on whether Tony survives at the end of The Sopranos?
9:45 lol you're definitely in a couple of lists.
To be fair in Batman's defense, this version of batman is very fresh/green. I think the movie says that it's only his second year of being batman that the points of the movie take place, so it makes sense to me that he isn't perfectly skilled and prepared for the stuff he goes against. Anyways, great video, love your stuff, keep up the good work.
Not much people are prepared for death, but as the Batman you have to be. If he was so smart he would have thought of this (Although their probably some kind of stupid Comic Logic as to why he survives all this).
@@denzelzuofa3066 Point taken. But as Vetteslave says, he's a newbie at this point. You can be super smart and still make mistakes too. We forget he's just a regular human. It's easier to correct our mistakes in hindsight than prepare for them.
@@FallenAngelHiroko i agree, but i just don't get how he survived that anyway. Even if he made a mistake, in that situation; it was a lethel mistake.
I also like how matpat said he had a death wish. Because in the movie he literally says he does.
To be fair he had years of training this movie's excuse is lame he is two years in and now he is exposed to the public. But he spent way more years training not a fan of this movie my self.
Then Joker tries to get Batman to slip on a banana peel, after causing a nuclear reactor to melt down. Classic Joker.
Thank God for the trusty batcan.
I love how he talks about the stuff behind the armour and the info about it. btw Can you make a theory on why in the video 'Velma meets original Velma" why is Velma the only one to be able to regain her memories?????

Honest question: I'm a male who doesn't really care about fashion. Do you think Style Theory would still interest me?

Great points MattPat. Subbed. BTW, that bolt action rifle ("Winchester") you showed in 07:22 is more than likely firing a more powerful .308 round not a 5.56 (though you can get a 5.56 bolt-action rifle, it's uncommon).

As a gun nerd, I've been waiting so long for you to go a little in depth into ballistics and armour ratings. Love it. And I'm hyped you shouted out Demoranch. But my dream collab is between you and Kentucky Ballistics. He's probably the most scientific gun tuber, especially in his older videos. I'd love it if you ever collabed with him
Yeah, I'm pretty sure he would be up for pretty much any crazy ballistic test.
I was more pump for the Paul Harrell shoutout. He’s better Guntuber than Demoranch
@@MrDoverfield I've never actually watched his videos. But Demoranch has gone a little down hill lately. My favourites at the moment are Kentucky Ballistics, and Forgotten weapons.

This would have been the perfect pilot episode for style theory and I’m honestly kind of surprised you didn’t go that route. That being said, it was an excellent episode, keep up the good work, Mat. 👍
cause it also works as a good ad for it.
think about it, alot of people watch this, and it's a batman theory, making it more likely too get views.
it also shows what Style Theory is about, so yes, it would be a good pilot episode, but it makes a better ad.
@@thnecromaniac I actually didn't think about this, good point
I don’t see what kevlar, bullets and body armor, and explosions have to do with style. That’s not what style theory is about. You could say this is a mix of the two, but it’s certainly not style
@@thnecromaniac Yes, that’s very true.
Never thought I'd see a demolition ranch clip from any of the theorist channels, love it
I feel like it would be easy to solve the open mask problem. Just have a face shield that deploys from the cowl for certain situations to cover the mouth, and when it's not needed bruce can just leave his mouth exposed to breathe easier. It's a superhero movie I feel like that would be enough to suspend disbelief.
The Batman prequel novel has an entire section of him talking to the R&D department of Wayne Industries about getting an experimental armour they've been working on
Congratulations on the new channel's success, Team Theorist! 💚❤💛💙
Here before someone says "there's so many bots!" Or something similar.
WayneTech is crazy at work. His suit is made of a titanium nanofibre woven into a kevlar-like bond. It then has solid layers of titanium coated ceramic plates. Should've done more research on what his suit is made of in the media

How many bots are on this chanell?
Insanely detailed? He spent 3 whole minutes of a 15 minute video discussing a new channel! 😂

Batman was my favorite superhero. Bruh. We gotta protect him.
I actually once bought Kevlar and my family was so shocked at how strong it was because it looked like yellow thread.
Why does every single video on this channel and any of his other ones age like fine wine
There is a good chance that nobody's gonna see this, but I want Matpat to take a look into Murder Drones. If you want something that has some very interesting lore, but is also just a REALLY good show here on CZcams, that's one that I'd recommend. I am not the best at theory crafting, but even I can tell that there is stuff here that would get Matpat's theory alarms ringing. Plus, it's about creepy murderous robots, so it's on-brand.
Matpat trying to figure out what type of armor Batman wears; me knowing he wears plot armor
Great content as usual. HISHE of The Batman also covered, briefly, Batman taking an explosion to the face. I hope your Style Theory videos gain a million+ subscriptions before this month is over.

There's a possibility that Batman's Batsuit might have the fictional metal Promethium, which is comparable to Marvel's Adamantium and Vibranium. It's an artificial metal that's able to generate and absorb nigh-limitless energies, increase healing and has been known to activate metagenes in people.
Matpat digging into the guntuber archives is certainly an experience.
3:47 pro tip matpat he also takes his frustration out on eyeshadow

I nearly died in the US Army due to a DESETS Van pressing me into the ground as it shredded the Kelvar Helmet as my hand was caught under the door frame. I could see the fabric through the 4 inch gash. It pressed into the ground and was drug 30 feet after two bounces.

My question still is why Batman leaves his chin and lower mouth exposed. Like, one bullet there will probably put him down.
Same goes for eyeholes, but those are much smaller so it's fine.
Because he's a Superhero.
To make sure civilians can see that he's human. Also, the emblem on his chest is meant to act like a bullseye for the criminals to be drawn to instead of the harder to hit face. Batman has always had a "suspend belief" while playing into just enough science to make it soom plausible but cool. Even his biggest strengh (intelligence/planning) wouldn't be enough for many of the situations he's in.
My theory is that maybe he is using or he has low level Lazarus water with him. The moment his suit detects damage he gets a few drops of the lazarous water in his system healing him keeping you t too. Kinda like micro dosing. To prevent the bad effects.
