    Just a side note, Jayco labels the bunk beds weird, they are both 300lb bunks. Combined 600lb. The bottom is 300 and the top is 300.

      @BikesBoatsBivouacs  Před rokem +1

      When I checked they verified that the bunks are 600 lbs each. Thanks for watching.

    Excellent Camper! Ww ended up with the 2022 Jayco 264 BH, 4 foot longer, Jackknife couch, no outside kitchen, but added a outside mini-fridge, slightly different floor plan, but same bunk beds in back, and Queen up front. We love ours, and are very happy with it! Thank you for the gr8 video!

    Love that rv. You make the same good points my husband makes. N/S bed, no slide, awning not covering outdoor kitchen, dual axils, ect. All the things we prefer.

    Congrats on the new camper, it's beautiful & I love the layout. We avoid slides for the same reason, they seem to break a lot. We also like the north/south bed, we level the head of the bed just slightly higher. Love the outside kitchen & the steps are sturdy. The interior is nice...we replaced our dinette with a work space in order to work from the road. Nice big fridge & oven too! Ducted AC is awesome. We might do a minisplit, they are quiet. Love this camper layout. Just got done camping with some buddies and one of them went to put their slide in and water started coming in. More and more I find myself being completely fine without the slides. Hoping to get one of these for me and my family at some point.

    • @BikesBoatsBivouacs
      @BikesBoatsBivouacs  Před rokem +1

      I don't have confidence in slides, I think the deep slides put to much pressure on the wall. If I ever tried a slide it would likely be a slide that moves 15" or less. Thanks for watching. PS> Check out the Transcend 247 BH.

      @@BikesBoatsBivouacs only issue with that one is weight. I have a tow capacity of 7,000lbs and that’s where the 224bh really stands out. Enough space for 2 adults and 2 kids and keeps at just over 5,000lbs.

    Love all the exterior features! We 100% agree with you on the slides, we believe they are more trouble than they are worth. We use our kitchenette as a couch also, but ours is smaller so it is easier to do. Those bunks are super tight, but love the bathroom! Nice job

    You nailed it with that shower requirement. That's a must on our next rig. No more head in the skylight. On another note, for your electric hookup on your garage, is that only 2 wires coming out? Could be just the way it looked on the camera but it should be 3. #10 if you are putting in a 120volt 30amp outlet.

    Question did you look at the Jayco 264bh when you purchased this? I am stuck between the similar camper you have and the 264bh. The weight and lengths are similar. I see the bathroom in yours is better but having that extra couch and half privacy wall is also important to my wife. Your thoughts please. Thanks for your help and video as I would be purchasing from Pete’s. I will advise them of your help and reviews.

    • @BikesBoatsBivouacs
      @BikesBoatsBivouacs  Před 2 lety

      Hi Jeremy, I did look at the 264 but I wanted to go a bit smaller. One thing I noticed is the larger the rig the fewer campsites there are for your rig. The one thing I don't like are slides. Nearly everyone I know who has a rig with slides ends up with a problem. I think you will be happy with either unit. I went to this unit from a small toyhauler because we now have grandkids and are doing longer trips. Thanks for watching.

    I have the same KZ camper you did. We like it, but we can use some more space and storage. I am looking at the Jayco Octane 222 toy hauler. Why didn't you go with another toy hauler? Did you like the KZ? Why didn't you go
    with another KZ?

    • @BikesBoatsBivouacs
      @BikesBoatsBivouacs  Před 2 lety +1

      I did like the KZ and I was interested in the Escape 230 bh but the availability and pricing were not conducive to a deal. My bike trips are generally over the road and separate from my camping trips and with young grandchildren starting to camp and loving it, I decided the bunks were needed more. Thanks for watching.
