  • A Land Rover Discovery 1 300tdi and a Discovery 2a TD5 go off road in Appin on various wet and sloppy 4wd trails.
    The 300tdi Discovery 1 is twin locked rolling on 35 inch tyres with a ton of flex in both the front and rear end, a joy to watch as it articulate while climbing over the obstacles.
    The TD5 Discovery 2 is also twin locked and this was it's first run since installing the front locker. It is on 33 inch Nitto Trail Grapplers, without extra travel in the suspension it loves to lift a wheel both front and rear.
    I hope you enjoy watching and feel free to drop us a comment.

      You wont be disappointed with lockers, just be sure to upgrade your half shafts as a minimum.

    Two very sorted disco as always on this channel. I just love the how well the tdi with vnt and auto works. No doubt loads of r&d went into getting it dailed in. And the suspension is on another level. So far removed from a stocker yet still true to the original. Ratios on the D2 great for crawling and also the pilot understands the Td5 quirks-no stalling. As always making these tracks looks easy, as we all know the camera makes it look easy. Okay, that’s enough brown nosing for one day. Great content. Greeting from Shitsville 🇿🇦

      Haha I still stall the d2 plenty but im definitely getting more in tune with the throttle and clutch. A little more seat time will help. You are spot on about the D1, its a weapon that's a pleasure to watch.

      @mariuslouw78 Před 2 lety

      I had a giggle because I posted my comment early into the video and after posting you stalled it. 😁.
      Your D2 is a weapon too, looks twin locked ect. Did you do diff ratios on it or TC? It does very well for a 2.5t heffalump.

    • @lror
      @lror  Před 2 lety

      Just diff gears atm, tc reductions would be very welcomed considering the low down torque she has 😂

      😁 yeah that little accessory belt chirp to let you know you’ve been defeated. I have a totally standard(only stage1 map) Td5 auto, it’s such a astronomical pain in the ass on the road with the high stall torque converter. Off road is the place where the high stall works though.

    Love the bar work on the purple Disco. A little constructive critique. The driver could use a little more momentum at the right time. Trying to crawl too much. The LC is a beast. Give it some moxy.

    Hiya bud that d1 is a weapon of truck what is the setup with the suspension and engine and turbo cos I can tell it's not a standard turbo setup

    • @gabrielcooper7790
      @gabrielcooper7790 Před 2 lety +1

      Allisport VNT turbo, custom 4 link rear end with superior engineering super flex arms up front and 13 inch shocks. All a work in progress I'm still not completely happy with the engine performance and still smoothing out the suspension.

      @@alex79buckland no I don't think the EDC was released in Australia, I've got a boost pin and ring for the pump, I increased the fuel and slightly advanced the timing, electric fuel pump, VNT turbo, twin inlet manifold and 3 inch exhaust. It's quite smokey at the moment I think I need new injectors. It's got 2.8 injectors but I'll be going back to standard
