BIG Bed in SMALL Van: Special Layout ON TOP of Kitchen / How to Build / Mercedes T1 Van Conversion

We found an unusual solution to have a (partially) fixed bed in our small Mercedes T1 van, but also a big kitchen and a dinette with views. We don't extend the bed on top of a mid-mounted dinette, but on top of the kitchen cabinet. This has several advantages which I will explain. Of course, we will show you in detail how we built the bed and also what products and materials we used.

I'm impressed by the conversion, klasse👍 Is there a reason why you did not make a slide so in 1 move the bed is ready? (I mean the one you see often in pickup truck camperunits)

Thanks! A slide-out would indeed be faster, but it would cost about 10cm of height of my drawers and cabinet under the bed which I didn't want to sacrifice :)
