Ah, so now I know why……when I put more clothes into my horrible Samsung, the minutes change from 60 minutes to 120 minutes 🙄…More clothes means longer wash times….. Makes perfect sense! People in Canada like the Electrolux washers as they are better for smaller spaces. Very informative as usual! Many thanks from Susan in Canada!! Yes, I love your guides! Thank you so much Steven!!!!
I've had my Electrolux washer and dryer for 16 years, not a single service call. I'm replacing them only because the plastic white detergent dispenser drawer is off-color and pops open (needs a new spring that I can't find) during the wash cycle (I just tape it shut). My clothes were only slightly damp when taken out of the washer, and it cleaned so well. I'm 99% sure I'm rebuying. I don't need a text to tell me when my wash cycle is complete, just another function to break, IMO.
My research has indicated that another advantage of the Electrolux over the GE is that it uses considerably less water AND electricity. This certainly should be noted.
I LOVE these videos. Keep them coming! I have a 20-year-old set of Kenmore Elite He3. Never had a service call and they’re still going strong. Perhaps it’s the light use over the years-one or two loads a week for a family of 2. As much as I’d love all the bells and whistles of the newer technology, sounds like I shouldn’t expect the same shelf life of the newer machines than I have of my current washer/dryer.
Just bought an Electrolux set. They are arriving next week can't wait. Hoping my decision was the right one. Coming from a Samsung it can only get better. Samsung washer died after just 7 years.
Your videos are amazing and informative. Can you do a video on Fisher and Paykel’s wall oven series 9 and their speed oven? NO one else did on the market. Cannot wait.
My electrolux 5 series washer and dryer both crapped out. I looked at menards, Lowe's, grand appliances, home depot and best buy for a new electrolux. Nobody has any and some stopped selling. So i bought the GE 650 vent fresh which is being delivered today. I hope i like it. The electrolux only lasted 3 years but i really liked them. I am going to try to get them repaired and keep in case i don't like the GE.
We were very pleased with them too back then. They made the best machine out there at that time. A few years back they moved/changed their production which created major service spikes. We couldn't get the support we needed from the manufacturer so we decided to part ways.
I just bought an Electrolux 2 months ago and it’s hands down the best washer I’ve ever owned. I’m a single dude but the two jobs I’ve had were infantrymen in the army and now an owner of a tree business so my clothes get filthy as most anyone can get them. Mine was almost $2K but well worth it.
@@benvasilinda9729 I also bought this Electrolux last month, and agree with you! Other reviews rated it as tops in cleaning, and it is excellent! That Smartboost does seem to make a difference, and tossing a Tide Pod in the dispenser takes minimal effort. I don’t think about wishing it had wifi, and I do use the door kickstand to air it out. Not sure how it compares to GE, but I know it is so much quiet than my previous front load. Highly recommend!
Love your video! Thank you for sharing all this great information. I'm in the market for a new washer. I want to get GE Ultrafresh front load washer. I have seen several videos that show the high pitch sound that people are experiencing spring spin cycle. Some mention shipping bolts can be the issue one guy found it was the motor making the noise. Is this motor issue common? Is it covered under warranty? If issue should I just get LG front load washer?
I love my Electrolux washer but can’t stand the dryer. I don’t understand how clothing comes out of the washer almost dry yet takes almost an hour to dry in the dryer when set to less than dry on the moister scale. I clean the lint screen every time that I run the dryer. However everything does come out dry. Also, I live in Florida and have solar panels on my roof producing all of my own electric and selling my excess to my electric company. Then I read my warranty and found out that it is void as Electrolux voids all warranties if the power comes from anything other than a power company. I would not have purchased from Electrolux had I known.
Could it be the voltage that is unstable. Just a comment… when the voltage used by the Dryer at 240 volts .. I understand it could be set up by an electrician at different amp rate. Check that out. The performance might be better. Also use a surge protector / line conditioner.
Just purchased the 650 set in nickel. The washer does not run the spin cycle in normal, towels and rinse and spin. It spins in quick wash and whites only. When washer reaches 10 to 13 minutes left the drum just slowly turns and repeats back to 13 minutes after 10 minutes is reached. Does this about 9 times then turns off. Clothes are soaked. I am pissed.
Great video and comparison, I"m still on the fence though. I love my 16-year old Electrolux set, but I am intrigued by the antimicrobial features on the GE, as well as automatic detergent dispensing. One thing you did not discuss (unless I somehow missed it) was noise. Do either of these machines run louder than the other? Also, the GE only comes in white or sapphire blue ...
@@YaleAppliance1 Came in just a tad too late, I ordered the Electrolux set, mainly because of my experience with the 16-year old set it is replacing. I want to mention that when you run a cycle with the Electrolux, the clothes come out quite nearly dry. I can hang-dry my items and just use touch-up for most of the year here in CA.
Electrolux is Swedish and also makes Frigidaire. GE is, as you stated, owned by Haier since 2016…which is Chinese. Although, everything made these days comes from China, I won’t support a Chinese based company whenever possible.
Thanks for great video. However, my comparison is between LG 4500 series and GE washers now (I believe Electrolux makes outdated washers now). So which would you recommend ?- GE has very cool odor elimination tech we definitely need in closed space (most likely washer will be behind closed door). LG has better tech overall, AI DD, quad-wash etc., plus it has side-kick washer and the unit itself is smaller. But they don't have odor solution as far as I can see. Any recommendations are much appreciated.
GE and LG are our favorite laundry brands and make up the vast majority of our sales in the category. They're both great and each have a lot of great features. Tie breaker for us would be the Microban technology so if space isn't a concern for you (depth and width are larger on GE) the give the GE a try.
I really wanted the lg, but the fact that their doors are NOT reversible eliminated them from the race. I’m stacking my washer and dryer and really need both doors to swing to the right.
I have a question about the Electrolux ELFW7637BW. Does it rapidly pulse the hot water inlet as it fills if you select a hot or warm cycle? I had a previous front loader made by LG that did this to regulate the temperature of incoming hot water. The problem is that it messes with my tankless water heater because it makes it turn on, off, on, off over and over. I need a front load washing machine that does not rapidly cycle the hot water valve open and closed while it is filling, and I heard that Electrolux front loaders MIGHT be a washer that does not do this! If this washer does do the rapid pulsing of hot water, is there a different brand or model you can recommend that does not constantly open and close the hot water valve while it does it's ATC (automatic temperature control)???
We don't sell the brand so we wouldn't be your best resource on how this machine let's the hot water in. I will tell you all machines we sell do let the hot water in the same way you are alluding to. All different speeds etc but an overall similar operation. I am not sure of one on the market that does not work this way. Main reason being fabric care. You are at risk of damaging fabrics if you let in too much direct hot water at one time.
The problem with these reviews is that they talk about all of the features etc. but never about the reliability and longevity. Well I wish they would. I would have never got an Electrolux if they did. Bought an Electrolux front load washer 2 years ago. The main bearing on the tub is already going. Owned LG and Samsung and the bearings went out in 5 years and I thought that was bad. Bought this due to good ratings. Not good for longevity or reliability. Really cheaply built. Most washers now still use clamps to retain hoses so they stay in place and don't leak. Not Electrolux they use wire ties. So you have to cut them off and buy new wire ties to take hoses on and off. I bought the washer because it was highly rated. That was due to features and hype. Don't buy this thing unless you want to replace it in 2 years. Replacing the tub bearing requires buying the rear tub assembly. That part costs around $400 (I got an open box off of eBay for 250) But if you had a repair man do this, the part would cost at least $400 and the repair labor would likely be over $200. So you are paying over $600 dollars to repair a washer that is only worth $800. So unless you want to Spend at least $800 dollars every two years don't buy Electrolux. By the way. Working on this thing is horrible as well. Makes me certain I will buy LG the next time. Oh, and they mix SAE and metric to make it even more fun.
GE has more gadgets to break down I sell appliances and electrolex is top in We do not get service calls for this company well a little maintenance wiping things down Wi-Fi Wi-Fi another thing to break down
These videos are so useful. My appliances are so old, and it's really helpful just to see what's out there and what modern features are available.
Glad you like them!

I was at a red light when I looked over at a laundromat that said “all Electrolux machines” which brought me here. I’ve never heard of that brand
GE needs to bring the automatic fabric softener dispenser back to hold the same 32 loads as the detergent dispenser.
Ekectrolux may only have been in the states for 15 years but across Europe they have been making laundry appliances fir much much longer
We have Electrolux and are very pleased with their performance and reliability going on 9 years; why did Yale stop selling Electrolux???

Which one washes better? Which one is quieter? These are my top priorities.

Most of GE's manufacturing is US-based. The washers are Chinese, dryers are made in the US
