  • In this brilliant interview Princess Beatrice talks to #MadeByDyslexia about her schooldays, Dyslexic Strengths, and her passion for creating changes in education.
    About Made By Dyslexia:
We’re a global charity led by successful dyslexics. Our purpose is to help the world properly understand, value and support dyslexia.
We believe in the game-changing power of dyslexic thinking. After all, everything from the light bulb to the iPhone was invented by dyslexic thinkers. In 2020 we launched “Connect The Spots”, a global training and advocacy programme to level the playing-field so every dyslexic child can achieve their potential.
To achieve this we have one single minded mission: to train every teacher worldwide in the next five years to spot, support and empower every dyslexic child.

As a teacher I have seen what a struggle children go through when they are dyslexic. It takes a long time to actually figure out what is going on. Unfortunately some parents think their children are lazy or not trying hard enough. I'm so glad you have spoken out. I'm hoping it will shine the light for others to find their way.

I'm very surprised at myself, that I didn't seek query on this young Princess before, because she is a good lady and she has the potential to become a great leader. Everyone is different and even when every high class soul believes in indestructibly , a star is born, and in ourmost observant moment, we miss the obvious! When a soul speaks honestly. You got to trust in a good soul, regardless of parentage. I believe princess Beatrice , although miles away and no one bothers to know. Is a good woman for a leader to a better life ahead. 👍🙏🕯️💯👑☕

My son is dyslexic and he got diagnosed and then his school classed him as just being lazy, and would throw him out of the class. When the question were oral he answered them brilliantly, but he couldn’t write the answer down in paper he couldnt get the words to make sense , they called him stupid and lazy. Every teacher would call me to tell me my son is stupid and lazy and I’d explain about his dyslexia and told them if they did this it would be better, no-one listened. Then a new maths teacher arrived at the school and would call me and start moaning about my son. So I told her about his dyslexia and how his worked. I explained maths was always his favourite subject he lives numbers. After a couple of weeks she would ring me and tell me how brilliant he was doing. She also said she wished she’d had him since year 7 because he would get A star in his GCSE exams, she promised me she’d get him a C and she worked him hard, she did one on one with him and paid for a tutor once a week when she couldn’t do the one on one. He took his exam and he got the C!! I can’t thank that teacher enough. She is the definition of what a teacher should be. Dyslexic people are not stupid or lazy they are actually very intelligent they just struggle with the written word. My son is 20 now and I am so proud of him .Thank you Princess Beatrice for giving Dyslexia a face. I wish we saw more if you as a working Royal xx

Police were informed but only suggested that she move school .My mum home schooled her after that.I hope its more understood now.

In this book you will find many stories where the solution to bullying of a child who has dyslexia was to move that child to another school. The British school system is failing when it comes to bulling children who have dyslexia.

She sounds so authentic and clever. A bit quick, but overall the perfect balance between articulate and natural! 👏🏻 As I see it, you can also tell she's both a princess and a working woman, not some stereotypical lazy moocher enjoying her jetset life on public costs all day long!

Her British accent is much less pronounced than other members of the royal family. She speaks very clearly which I appreciate.

As you say, people, such as employers, etc. are more aware these days. In my family, myself, my sister, my son are all hard of hearing. You build your life around it. It's not the end of the world.

Where did she come from, amidst all that royal chaos? Why haven't I heard about this amazing royal? What's with those silly coverages of her and her sister? She's the sweetest

She sounded nothing like I expected her to sound.
Came across as genuinley humble, not egotistical, a bit vurnerable with her self esteem. I now want her to do well.
