      There are two sets of miles/date on the display:
      Next oil change - this is the one that can be reset by scrolling down on the MMI and clicking YES
      Next service - this is the one that the dealer (or VCDS user) resets
      So what are the two sets of miles/dates reading?
      Google tells me to reset the lower display...
      With the ignition on.
      click on address '17-Instruments' and then select 'ADAPTATION'
      Go to the 'CHANNEL' box and change the number in it to '40'. Click on 'READ' then in the 'VALUES' box, change the value to '0'. Click 'TEST' and then 'SAVE'. A box will appear to ask you if you are sure, click 'YES'
      Carry out this same procedure for the following channels, AND IN THIS ORDER;
      40, 41, 53, 55, 02
      when complete, exit VCDS by clicking 'DONE, GO BACK' and then close the application.
      Switch the ignition off and then back on. If you've got the sequence above correct, the light will be out.

    Thank you a lot for this video! I have Audi A4 B8 Technik, 2012 year of manufacturing.
    I have the VCDS software and I will install it on my laptop.
    Can you please tell me what cable I must buy? I understand that cable must have USB to connect to laptop.

      Hello. Your best bet is to search on Audi forums and see what people use lately. I use now OBDeleven tester, so a different tool alltogether. Having the VCDS software means nothing, as the tool is what matters and many cheap clones only work with their own modified software and a different version will brick them.

      @UltimateDIY  Před 2 lety

      You have answered yourself :)
      The oil change is part of the service, but the oil change is usually done more often than the service inspection.
      The oil change interval can be reset from the mmi, but the service interval needs tools for resetting.

      This link gives an idea about different variants of service: mycarneedsa.com/blog/confused-with-car-servicing-types-what-is-the-difference-between-basic-full-and-major-car-servicing
