Thanks for the review. I have a Bb Syn whistle and really like it. I'd love to get the set but I have a similar pet peeve with my fingers bumping into each other.
I sustained an injury to my left middle finger 10+ years ago and have only about a third of the pad I had before the injury. I can still play but I had to adapt by closing the holes with my pads closer to the knuckle. Because of this my left ring finger and right pointer finger interfere with each other and it's quite annoying. It's not as much of an issue on the C but it's worse on the high Eb than the D.
I'm thankful the injury wasn't worse or I might have lost parts of two fingers, ring and middle, which definitely would have impacted my ability to play. I'm not the most polished player but I definitely enjoy cranking out some tunes from time to time.

I own a Syn high D and my pet peeve with it is in getting a decent Cnat. My Syn only gets a decent Cnat using 0XXX00 which, had I known, would've put me off buying one. They are nevertheless outstanding sounding whistles. P.S. I'd appreciate if you could mention the fingering needed for a Cnat in future reviews as very reviewers fail to mention it Sean.

Thanks for pointing out that the Cnat is 0XXX00 on the Syn Whistles. Good info to have!

I also don't like whistles that have a natural C tending towards sharp and I almost always intervene to correct this off-key note that most whistles have. The Lir Whistle in D and the Wild in D fortunately have an excellent natural C and I didn't intervene, while the Killarney in D has a very high natural C and I intervened in this one and now I'll explain how I did it: I used transparent nail polish for nails, and with a toothpick I applied a little at the top of the first hole, let the nail polish dry and test if the note is good, if it is not apply another layer, normally they require 2 to 4 applications; If you weren't precise or it doesn't work, you can always easily remove the nail polish. I was saying that it is better to apply the nail polish in the upper part of the hole because the effect is felt more and the hole closes less, because a hole that is too closed also gives a worse sound. in many cheaper whistles such as Generation, Feadog, Oak, Waltons, I have performed this operation, but you must not exaggerate in resizing the diameter of the first hole which together with the fourth hole is the smallest, because you risk worsening the sound of this note . I hope I was clear.

Hmm, have you ever tried Polish Goldfinch?

I had my eye on these and this review made me take the plunge. I think they are lovely whistles but you do need to push them in the 2nd octave and be more accurate with your breath. Not as forgiving as my Lir. But I do like them.
