After viewing several other videos, on changing the oil with this lawnmower, your presentation by far is the best. Thank you for showing us the underside of the drain plug. Kudos to you.
I have this mower , had no clue how to change the oil , this video showed me everything I needed to know to do it right , very helpful and was explained in detail , now I'm a pro (l(like you guys) thank you
Thank you for making this video. I have the same mover and it’s in need of an oil change! Your video made it look so easy, that even I can do the job and I am the furthest thing from being mechanically inclined! Thanks again! Cheers!
Thanks so much for the video, even the owners manual is vague. You are absolutely correct that there are not many, if any videos of changing the oil on this model. My grass is mowed. I feel like I hate my Z248F more and more every year I use it, just wish I bought something nicer. A couple tips I would like to add is if you flip the seat up it is easier to get to the oil filter, and when checking the oil level you are not supposed to screw the oil cap on. If you look really closely it says this on the dip stick. Thanks again 👍😮
You are correct I read that in my cap after I made the video ! I agree I love the mower for what it is but I will definitely upgrade when the time comes I’ve had mine for 5-6 years now I’ve had no issues but I would like something different when I buy a new one later in life
Well thank you my goal was to just help anyone and I’m glad it was a help love making videos on just what I’m doing and if it can help someone that makes it even better !! Have a great rest of your week
I’ve had it 4 years now and it looks like the day I got it ! I love the mower for what I use it for the next one will be a exmark but this one does great to get me going
I have the same mower and deck. My only complaint with the unit is the transaxles. There's no drain plug on them. To service them you need to completely remove them and drain via the fill port on the top of the units. And I guess, to a lesser extent, the spindle bearings are sealed. Kind of defeats the purpose of greasing the spindles when the bearings have butyl seals on them. When I replaced my spindles at 250 hours I took the new ones apart and removed the inner bearing seals. Now the grease can actually get in to the bearings and do it's job.
Do you have a video how to chance a deck belt, I have a Z248, got a belt, measured 243 and when I put in on to me it is too short, I know I must not be doing something right, please help, I don’t have anyone to help me but I am pretty handy, I am a 75 year old grandma, thanks
Thanks, what happened is everywhere I looked was saying 143 inches and that is not right. I was able to go to the store where I bought my mower ass they actually took the belt off of a Z 248 f and measured it It came out to 147 inches once we got the right building is easier to get on appreciate your response

Nice job, buddy! This video made it so much easier for me the first time I changed the oil on this machine. Vice Grips tip was the best!

Hand tighten oil filter , don't use a filter wrench.
Absolutely, oil filter wrench’s are to loosen only!!
Good job man! That mower still looks brand new in this video. 😉👍👍

I am sorry I have not yet had to do that to my mower yet

@@sherryn39455 If it is the Fabricated Deck you will need a 147.5 x 5/8 belt. I learned the hard way also and bought one too short.
You needed to do a close up of getting the plug out...
11/16 or 18mm
You didn’t use any amsoil small engine oil in your lawnmower? It’s supposed to be the best
No I did not I just used Kawasaki small engine oil
Too bad the vise grip trick won't work on cars eh? lol
Aggreeded. Only hand tighten the new filter just as you would do in a car. Do not over tighten.
Its incredible how badly designed this oil access is. Its like they've deliberately made it difficult. Absolutely stupid engineering.
It is a bit difficult that’s for sure
