- The Blue Arrow Juniper (Juniper’s scopulorum ‘Blur Arrow’)by Monrovia Plants is an improved juniper with tight, bright blue foliage and a very narrow, upright form. I LOVE BLUE ARROW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It’s a cool, useful tree. You got so
Neon your place?
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟What is the average growth rate? I Googled it but there is conflicting information.
Love your channel; thank you! ✨
Thanks for watching Celine. Growth rates are all determined by the environment they are placed in. Take all those different numbers you have read about, draw an average from them and that would be close. Thanks for the kind words. Coach.
Hi how far from a fence and house foundation should this be planted? Does it stay 2 feet wide at full size?
Yes, pretty narrow. 2’ is the advertised mature size. That is in perfect conditions.
Your results may vary slightly. Does go 12-15’ tall. So, maybe 2’ from fence so you can still deal with the fence or clean behind it. Thx for the Q and watching. Coach.
@@YardCoach thanks for the info!
I'm in zone 9a and I just bought 12 of these for a privacy screen along my fence where I have just 5' of space to work with between the fence and my deck. How close can I plant these to my fence so I can still get a lawnmower past them? Would 20" from the fence line be sufficient?
On initial planting that space will work. However as they mature it will restrict a natural size and probably thin and die off a bit on the back side from no light and reflective wood heat from the fence. Always best to give them enough space for mature size and fill in with perennials or other small plants that will be temporary until the BA reach size. You can shear them but I think they lose some of the natural beauty that way. Do you really need the lawn in that area or is it a thoroughfare to a main lawn? Thx for the Q. Coach
@@YardCoach Thanks for your reply! I don't plan on having grass in this area. I have a deck on the other side of this path about 18-28" high since the yard has a slight grade. I think I'll plant them closer to the deck rather than the fence.
@mwerries I hope they do well for you.
Can this tree be left in a large pot instead of planting in the ground I'm in a zone 6b
Yes it can..depending on pot size it can last for many years..
@@YardCoach thanks for the fast response the trees i bought are in a 2 gal pot wht size would you recommend planting them in.
Start with a 15 gallon size container. You can plant small annuals and such around the base for beauty temporarily. Good Luck. Coach.
Any pest or disease issues with the blue arrow juniper?
A healthy specimen hardly anything bothers them. That’s the beauty of them.
@YardCoach thank you for the assuranceon the health of the plant, reading of the internet about the disease and pest is such a disappointment. Thanks again.
@pc1607 they also takes mild insect idea spraying pretty well. Like soap or Neem oil.
@YardCoach thank you for the advice, that, I can handle if spraying needed. I really adore the Blue Arrow juniper, I'm gonna plant them in a row, mixed them with Spartan juniper and some pillar ginkgo biloba trees, and will tuck a few October Glory or Autumn Blaze maple trees to add some red colors. I can't wait to plant my tree hedges. Thank you
@pc1607 just don’t shade the juniper with the maples..those trees are 40x30’
