Do these do ok in 7b, north Georgia with heat and humidity? I have false cypress that have turned brown

Hey Keith, thanks for the question. My best advice is to amend the holes 50/50,check moisture levels before watering and feed once a year in early Spring.They should do fine. False cypress are sensitive to drainage and over watering.GoodLuck. Coach.

How close to a fence would you recommend planting, 2 feet away?

Hey TD, I might suggest 3-4 ft away if you can only to keep fence serviceable.
If not then 2-3 ft would work. I really like these plants. Hope you do too. Coach.
