I can't even watch this episode, it is so infuriating how much this man is being screwed over. I'm an American woman and our system is set up to only benefit the mothers and screw the fathers. This woman is a prime example. She's a lazy, entitled brat, demanding his money, even though they're DIVORCED... AND she's ruined his image and his relationship with his children. She is just plain evil.

I left with hocking my saxaphone and dranining the joint bank account( I was working), around $200 put the clothes of my 2 kids and myself in the Honda civic and drove 3 states over to my mothers house . Ended up at a shelter. Never got a dime from him, until he died. I supported us! Glad to get out with our lives.

I am in Canada and our spousal support laws suck as well. Maintenance for children is a good system, but for the spouse it's between six months and one year for every year you were married or lived together. That is just so black and white. If the couple are older and the one spouse needs the support through the senior years, then that would be fair, but if they are a young couple and physically fit to work, both spouses need to get off their butts and work. Spousal support ends with the receiving party remarrying of course, but thinking like this woman is disturbing she uses it to hide how much of a B she is.. I have worked most of my adult life, except for the first 3 years of being a mom, because I would never want to be so vulnerable as to depend on another person financially. Even in marriage, both should work and share the house maintenance. Years ago when I divorced I only took 1 year of support because I would be moving for new career opportunities and took a year of schooling to upgrade my software and elevated business education. I cannot imagine how limited my life would be now had I not strived for my continued independence and career development. It's a heck of a lot more money than spousal support and I have something that lazy cow doesn't have, my dignity.
