So those people who were on that ship were Quicksilver, Scarlet Witch and Polaris. They're all the biological son and daughters of Magneto. They tend to have a rocky relationship with their father.
On that ship in Magneto's mind scape was Rogue, Pietro and Wanda Maximoff (Quick Silver and Scarlet Witch) who are depending on the canon his children he didn't know he had, and Polaris his other daughter.
I love that I've seen people question Magneto's powers over the years when this and episode 7 give you PRIME examples of why he's one of the most powerful. The entirety of the X-Men team couldn't even slow down Asteroid M... Magneto was awake for 2 seconds and like "Oh this lil ol thing lemme get that out your way..."
In the original series, they confirmed Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are his children in this show

In the comics then since Marvel still fully owned them they changed their backstory and had the High Evolutionary be involved that like made them and then said they were Magnetos kids.

Apocalypse is basically the Thanos/Darkseid of the X-Men. Not only is he the first mutant ever, but he is largely responsible for the events of Days of Future Past from the original series and the reason we have the techno-organic virus to begin with thanks to Time Fugitives. He is also notorious for recruiting four mutants to serve as his four horseman. Given his imprisonment in the astral plane at end of season 4 from the original series, the fact that he escaped means that Xavier and Magnus’s team did something in the past to help En Sabah Nur/Apocalypse escape and him being in Genosha’s ruins is bad, so bad it’s almost… apocalyptic.
Actually, Big A escaped, spiritually if not physically, during season 5 and was last see possessing Fabian Cortez. Seems in the time since he has restored himself to his original form.

The one thing I noticed no one taking about is Rogue's clap. That was always a Hulk thing, and only a handful of Marvel Heroes can do that. Looks like we can now add Rogue to that list.

calling Bastion's mom a racist is actually way on point, considering she actually is in the original series episode "One Man's Worth", where an alternate future Wolverine and Storm travel to the past to prevent the assassination of a young Charles Xavier. Wolv and Storm are a couple in that alternate future, and in one scene, a woman who later becomes Bastion's mom instigates a fight in the cafe because they are an interracial couple.
En Sabah Nur also known as Apocalypse En Sabah Nur, translated as "The Seven Lights he was the first of the second generation of mutant kind, born in ancient Egypt thousands of years ago. Abandoned at birth due to his monstrous appearance, he was found and raised by a ruthless nomadic warrior. It was so cool seeing all these different cameos of superheroes like Black Panther, Daredevil, Iron Man and even Omega Red. Really shows that this no longer a mutant contained problem. This is a problem for the whole world.
Daredevil can actually feel variations in the air and hear the sounds lightbulbs can give off, so he'd tell if the lights were off

'Shredder' is indeed a Wolverine villain known as Silver Samurai, similar in that they are just both evil samurai dudes (Silver Samurai was first by about a decade, but debuted in Daredevil so there may've been some design inspiration given how TMNT did riff a lot of Daredevil's stuff)
I don't get how the humans were like 'yeah a bunch of human sentinels just attacked and threatened us, Charles fixed the EMP problem and is still on the asteroid, best just try and nuke the mutants!' like, how did you connect those dots? Also I still dunno why Rogue couldn't just borrow Magneto's powers to stop the Asteroid, or Bastion, or the missiles...
Yes, Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch tend to be Magneto's children, but their origins get swapped around so many times sometimes they are and sometimes they aren't, the 'other one' is Polaris.
There were limited mutants back then, one of them: En Sabah Nur (translated to 'The First One', though retcons made it that he wasn't the first mutant) later known as the villain Apocalypse, an extremely powerful mutant clad in Celestial Armour (in the comics he creates Mister Sinister by manipulating his biology) capable of transforming others into his Four Horsemen, dead or alive...
The three others on the ship are Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff, Quicksilver/Pietro Maximoff, and Polaris/Lorna Dane, they're the kids of Magneto. Polaris being the half-sister of the Maximoff's.
I honestly cannot put into words how phenomenal this finale and, frankly, this entire show have been. This show quite possibly is the best thing Marvel Studios has given us ever since Endgame! PEAK MARVEL MEDIA!
Bastion honestly became one of my favourite X-Men/Marvel villains after watching this show and this epic finale. Bro the amount of cameos in this series is INSANE. Cyclops and Jean saying goodbye to Cable/Nathan honestly has me in tears 🥺

It’s not a spoiler because it already happened in the first 5 seasons of X-men animated series which this is a continuation, Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver are magneto’s children. If you don’t know who the other person on the boat was, I won’t spoil that but she was shown in a vision earlier in the show and is also one of Magneto’s children. The Mother Askani in the far future with young Nate/Cable is Rachel Summers the Daughter of Jean Grey and Scott Summers from the days of Future past Storyline in the Comics. She travel back in time to the "Modern Era" and Join X-Men then Excalibur and during that time She got flung into the far Future and Retrieved baby Nate and brought him to that time to help fight Apocalypse. In The Comics Jean and Scott's minds got sent to the Future and put in other bodies that pretty much looked like them and the helped raise Nate for a little while. I haven't read them but I heard more recently they pulled young Nate from the future to continue raising him until they have to send him back to fight Apocalypse when he's older. Wibbly wobbly, timey wimey stuff.
Loved getting to see Rachel. Always liked her but I can see why her convoluted parentage, potentially wild-ass potency & history of wearing dystopian future fetish gear would make her hard to write into storyline.

The ship in Magnetos mind had the most important people to him. Rogue, his twin children Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, and his youngest daughter Polaris.
Rogue can fight in space because she has the same powers as Captain Marvel. Rogue started as a villain and drained Carol Danvers. Because Carol was so powerful, it was a long absorption process that ended with Rogue permanently keeping Carol's powers. She also kept Carol's personality as part of her mind, though usually separate and buried deep. This oddity is also why Xavier can't read Rogue's mind. She has her own mind as well as Carol's half Kree mind.
Apocalypse was thought to be the first Mutant but a woman known as Selene is older than he is, she’s a sort of life force vampire mutant that’s over 17,0000 years old
Last X-Fact of the Week!!! At least until season 2. 7:46 This one is more of a Marvel fact. Marvel has a really fun excuse to show battles in space and have heroes kick ass on the moon. The place they were at with all the buildings is the Blue Side of the Moon! An area that actually has an atmosphere rich in oxigen that has been used by people like the Watcher and the Inhumans across the years. It’s fun!
18:38 I want to say, Im so happy a lot of people are showing interest in X-Men stories, so if you want to get into comics, there’s a brand new jumping on point coming in a couple months! X-Men From the Ashes is the new era after the fall of Krakoa, the mutant nation they had formed for the last ~5 years.
There are a lot of great writers coming to the titles, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s spearhead by three titles, X-Men by Jed Mackay will deal with a team led by Cyclops and Magneto fighting global threats, Uncanny X-Men by Gail Simone will be led by Rogue and they’re gonna be helping individual mutants trying to navigate a world where their paradise no longer exists, and Exceptional X-Men by Eve L Ewing will deal with Emma Frost and Kitty Pryde training a new generation of mutants! All titles that show a lot of promise, and if you have some knowledge of the X-Men, which since you watched the show, you do, there won’t be much problem in just jumping in!
Magneto and Mystique aren't close at all in the comics so this cartoon would have no reason to put her on that ship. The other person on the ship was Polaris, his other daughter.

Apocalypse is En Saba Nur, an ancient mutant of Egypt that grew to a tyrannical emperor. He has incredible powers like energy manipulation, shapeshifting, flight, super strength, telepathy and more. He is truly a worthy foe for any hero on Marvel.
What a way to end the first season! I appreciate the number of Marvel characters outside of the X-Men making appearances, the intense action sequences, and the direction of the X-Men being lost in time. Definitely looking forward to the next season!

I think they make one enemy at the time because of the short number of episodes. So, next season will focus on Apocalypse.
They will probably tease Onslaught's creation trough the season and we'll get him in season 3 properly this time.

Second half of season 2 is my prediction!? First part will be recruiting a new team of X-Men to locate the others... Bishop, forge, Colossus, psylocke, Emma Frost. While this is happening Apocalypse is making his play on the dead, missing and wounded. Gambit=death, Wolverine=war, Mystique=pestilence, Callisto=Famine?

Most of the animated media, when doing the horseman, especially the second time will hit more of a chord and use plot relevant mutants. Rogue can breathe in space due to her having Ms.Marvel's abilities after absorbing them previously
Rogue can’t breathe in space, Captain Marvel can exist without air because of the energy that fuels her body energizes her cells, Rogue took her strength and flight but not the tesersct energy. She was breathing because they were on the blue area of the moon, there is air there. Sunspot doesn’t need to breathe because his cells are fueled by solar energy, he doesn’t need to eat or breathe when powered up. Rogue didn’t take everything from Marvel, I think because she stopped, she has never shown the ability to turn into a Binary type being like Marvel has so I don’t think she can. If Rogue absorbed Roberto’s powers she wouldn’t need to breathe in space though.

Since you guys mentioned watching Daredevil, please, I kid you not, watch the 2015 Daredevil series because it is one of the best adaptations of a character in comic book history. Do NOT watch the 2003 Daredevil movie, not just because it's terrible, but because it just doesn't hold a candle to the show.

Rogue has parts of Captain Marvel's powerset due to an encounter that involved her stealing her powers for so long she kind of just has them now. It's why she's so strong and can fly. She can likely survive in space.
There's an actual good live action Daredevil adaptation (the netflix one) and it's about to get a new season soon-ish.
