      Many thanks, I've been looking for "which cpap mask is best for mouth breathers?" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Panvaryor Unexpected Preference - (do a search on google ) ? It is a smashing exclusive product for discovering how to eradicating sleep apnea and snoring without the headache. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my friend got great results with it.

    Great video. 🙂 I have been diving for quite a few years, and I am use to the little bit of water from my thick mustache. It never really bothered me. But I like your idea about trimming just under the nose... 🤯 (Now why didn't I think of that...?)

    I have a full Gandalf growth going on and I don't get leaks.
    It is possible to pressurized the mask by exhaling through your nose occasionally.
    What brought me here was to find a way of wearing an N95 biomask without shaving.
    I was thinking about wrapping my head with cling wrap, with breathing holes of course......any comments?

      Hello Wal Sakaluk, as with any new technique, I would seek out an Instructor that specializes in that particular area for guidance. As far as wrapping your head up with cling wrap, there are many BDSM Instructors out there that could probably guide you in the right direction. Safe diving.

    Thank you for the advice. For the Full face mask, on mine, I live in the midwest and dive a cold water quarry year round, so I wear a hood, but I have a hard time getting a good seal. you mentioned a glideskin that the FFM can seal to, do you have a brand, or a link to said product so I can pick one up and see how well it works?

    Iam looking at a semi dry suit with an integrated hood. I have a short beard and my concern is the hood will not seal and allow water down in the suit at the chin area. Do you have any advice for that? Love your videos they have helped alot!

    • @LakeHickoryScuba
      @LakeHickoryScuba  Před 5 lety +1

      Hello Rob, thank you for being a subscriber. Beards can cause some issues, either with your mask not sealing properly or with hoods as well. Typically with a short beard, I have never had issues with any hood causing any considerable leaks. I have dove with several divers though, with extraordinarily long beards. There solution was to braid it as tightly as possible, and to pull it up from the chin area. They would even trim the hood, to where it sat lower on their neck, versus sitting on their chin. I personally don't think you will have much issue with a short beard, especially with a proper fitting suit. Most semi-dry suits will have some type of seal skin technology built into the suit, that eliminates the majority of water flowing in and out of the suit. Some will even have gaskets around the neck area that will stop any water from coming in.

      @@LakeHickoryScuba I also rigged up my dsmb after watching your video on it and wanted to say thank you again for your videos! Only issue I have now is I only have 4 d rings on my bcd (aqualung dimension i3) and between the double ended bolt snap and the size of the d-ring, the whole set up hangs pretty low and fsr from the bcd. Any advice on bringing up tight against the bcd without making it to hard to access?

    • @LakeHickoryScuba
      @LakeHickoryScuba  Před 5 lety +1

      I typically will snap my SMB to my hip D-Ring, or in a Dry Suit, I will sometimes put it in my thigh pocket. A simple fix would be to clip to your shoulder D-Ring, then slide it underneath your Shoulder Strap.

    The very expected video eheh, thank you so much Bryan for the tips :P. By the way, are you married to my wife? XD 'cause she also doesn't like me to shave eheh, and I always have to think twice before shaving it, 'cause unfortunately mine takes agesss, allot of months to grow to my regular size, a grizzly short ZZ TOP and Paul Bunyan style.
    I normally shave like i said, just my mustache till a mid a bit, to guarantee a proper fit seal. Also had to shorten my longggg hair cause it wasn't confortable wearing it under the hood.
    Your diving mask is the MARES ULTRA LS X-Vision? how is it?
    By the way, you said your masked fogged? Since i started diving that i treat my mask on the day before diving and I NEVER had a fogged mask ever, if you want you could try it for a while and see if it works for you, I don't use any of those special diving products.
    What I do is, on the day before, on the morning, I get my mask, I spread dish detergent like FAIRY on the lens inside and out, get a small recipient and fill it with water and put some of the FAIRY on it, stir it a bit to dissolve it, and put the mask inside, leave it for the rest of the day inside and at the end of the afternoon or such, take it off and just leave it dripping, but don't touch the lens. Then just store it in a protective box or inside the fins foot to take it to the dive site, and before diving just dip it on the water and put on your face and you're good to go. Always works for me, and never everrr fogged with that.
    Have a fantastic day Bryan.
    Hugs from Portugal,
    Rony

      @@LakeHickoryScuba The only thing that leaves me with a foot out, sort of speak, to buy one is the fact that the skirt seems wider than my actual mask. But I think that I will take my chances and buy one on BlackFriday. Unfortunately I have no chance of trying one before buying, there are no diving shops likes yours here in the North, only one is super complete but it's like 600km away.
