We are suppose to believe LSU stopped paying players when NIL became legal? Come on now
And like Oregon didn't pay players!!?? Why would any football player want to go to a rural $hithole like Eugene and play for a team that, historically, has won NOTHING and plays in a Charmin-soft conference unless the bag 💰 was given to him?
Thats not what they said. LSU has a a good NIL program. On par with Ole MIss money-wise. They just aren't going to overspend on above average players.
An unmerited comment made by an Oregon $uck fan holds little credibility.
no your taking out of context what BK said watch the entire interview or read the entire quote lol basically boiled down to "we dont want players who only are going to be here bc of money"
You literally didn’t watch this video at all. 0 people including Brian Kelly said that.
Take it from an OU fan. This sounds exactly like what we would say. Just need the D to be like top 50. It doesn’t work, and it’s a lot harder to recover once you get to that point than you think.
You don’t understand obviously! Our defense that kicked your ass in 2019 was ranked 59th. So you’re wrong!
@@robertwoodworth7819 can’t wait for end of November.

Coach O lost his job because of inadequate coaching hires. The 2021 & 2022 NFL draft grabbed a handful of LSU players both of those seasons.
The talent was there, but the coordinators & or coaches weren’t.
U can say that again!
I have a distinct feeling Matt House lost the locker room, early on last season!
maybe even before that
The way you get back to playing good on defense is you change coaching staff and they did that,so let’s revisit this subject after a couple of years
U can discount, Aggies recruit, Jacoby Matthews as one of those Louisiana kids, who grew up wanting to play for the LSU Tigers!
Three different head coaches have won a national title within 3 years of being the coach.
It actually took Nick Saban four years
@@EEEconLawyer2007 Ok well, 2 out of 3 did it in 3 years, Miles & Orgeron. We’re not exactly talking about cream of the crop when it comes to coaches.
There’s a stat published somewhere that shows how low the odds are that a coach will win their first chip after there 3rd year.
Across all sports both pro and collegiate the numbers show that if the coach does not win a championship in their first 3 years at a program, then the chances drop drastically that they will ever win a championship at that program. Check it out
@@Trifln214 Says a lot about *Sling Blade Napier at Florida!
@@EEEconLawyer2007 Saban just needed that one season to rebuild the entire program. Lol
If LSU doesn’t want these portal woes, they’re gonna have to start recruiting certain positions better in the high school ranks.
🫤🫤 LSU doesn’t have to do anything that was BK hold point he was making
@@ginobling1828 So that's why he's been searching the portal high & low for DTS. Not that he feels like he has to, it's because he wants to. C'mon man. Like I said, if they don't start recruiting more depth at certain positions, this problem will continue to happen when concerning the portal.
LSU just added three possible all american level talent on the DLine this class mckinnley, reliford and breaux. They are the DLine of the future.
@@jedolivier2688they literally are dude. Stop yapping
Mario Cristobal and Matt Rhule are both sitting on blazing hot charcoals. They were taken for a rough ride in the transfer portal!
Big difference and saying you not buying players?
Those one year Portal guys are still a risk! What Kelly is saying he rather get big NIL deals for the incoming younger kids or a portal guy that’s got multiple years left to play..those DTs they missed on wasn’t big time players just go look at rhere stats against good OLs they stunk..what yall not talking about it’s the white DT they got from Wisconsin he’s got good stats against good teams..
Matt’s narrative about BK’s value of Louisiana year one is wrong. Kelly’s first transfer class consisted almost entirely of Louisiana kids coming home. Brian Polian went to Las Vegas because they had two months to assemble a class. But the transfer class of 2022 it was the best class since.
Before NIL these kids grew up wanting to play for LSU but money talks ....
Will Campbell will be a 1st rounder next year. He's gotten offer$$ to go to other schools. Kid bleeds purple and gold. He's not going anywhere. He's one of many that just love LSU.
@fratersol Lance Heard (who sat behind Campbell at LT all thru HS and 1 year of College) didn't love LSU. He went to TN for money. LSU made a wise decision to not overspend on him to be a backup and then play for one year before leaving for the league. Same reason they didn't overspend on Barrow or Dom, they didn't see the value added vs the cost. Also remember, the new defensive staff is a recruiting machine. Bo Davis and Kevin Peoples are two of the best DL coaches in CFB and Corey Raymond elevated the DBU moniker when he got to LSU.
The #1 player in the country coming out next year is a DT from Louisiana he’s coming to LSU
LSU will be loaded on both side of the ball offense is set for 4 years OL is top in nation
He'll flip before then, watch.
I’m shocked to hear LSU doesn’t have a DL making over 6 figures.
The LSU Tigers will exceed expectations on our OL, far and wide!
Bo Pelinni was not a disaster, he was a cataclysmic move!
The Texas A&M example is lazy and doesn't fit because those were high school recruits. Some high school recruits will wash out in everybody's class. Portal guys are more proven players. So, I don't buy the thought that buying players will destroy program culture especially because Power 2 programs along with Miami and FSU use the portal to fill specific roster holes and/or add depth.
Kelly is a lot like the guy that host this podcast, he can’t shut up.
Yeah but the thing is both of them are making more money than you can dream of!!!!😂😂😂😂 Loser😅😅😅
It’s a podcast. Don’t watch if you don’t want to here people talk
The real question is simple. At the age these guys are getting recruited what is more important playing for the team of you’ve wanted to since a kid or being a millionaire as soon as you leave high school…. I got my anwser ha
In Kelly's first year, Bama, TAMU, Florida came in and took the in state talent. He only had 2 months to put a class together. That little diatribe that Scona has been perpetuating is not entirely factual based. The dumpster fire ending of the Orgeron era, the possible sanctions that were hanging over the program and the fact that the NIL program struggled getting off the ground, not to mention the fact that several programs around the state had closed their doors to Orgeron and LSU all factored into them having to go recruit in Las Vegas and Minnesota..
💯🎯 I wrote a similar comment here.
@EEEconLawyer2007 well obviously great minds think alike....lol
I think the fans that actually follow the program closely know what's up. The coaching job that this staff has done the past 2 season's with the personnel that they had, has been exceptional. It ain't always been pretty. Sometimes, it's been down right painful. But, they still held the lockeroom together, they still have players and recruits buying in and now for the first time they have a full roster and a monster recruiting class coming in. The program has been solely on a upward trajectory since BK came here, and that can not legitimately be denied.
Bob Stoops in 2 years won championship
Yeah and none after that!!!!😢😢😢
From an ND fan here, Kelly has lowered expectations in a very clever way. First and foremost he tempers expectations with excuses, so he doesn’t look bad if they lose, but looks great if they win. He is arrogant and lacks accountability.. LSU should get top 5 talent without leaving the couch. The fans better wake up to this 🤡
Saban started the Lock down the talent in the State.
Also no one paid Williams $1.2. That was the number to flip him.
Wrong, they all offered him that much and he said he chose development
LSU fans are clueless about Brian Kelly and his history.

A&M’s HIGHSCHOOL recruiting class has nothing to do with recruiting PROVEN veteran college football players. That is a terrible comparison. Jimbo fisher was a doofus anyways. Lane Kiffin is the blueprint. Hide and Watch.
All I hear is flippin excuses for a 8-4 season from another abysmal defensive performance and an unproven offense.
Doesn’t ever LSU fan, hell, every college football fan that pays attention to the SEC, know that Louisiana produces athletes? Why did Brian Kelly and his staff need two years to recognize that?
Justin Jefferson was a 2* recruit coming out of high school. A 2*. Clyde Edwards Helaire was a 3* coming out of high school. Yes, Louisiana produces talent on a consistent basis.
Kelly wasn't from south he didn't understand took 2yrs to see just recruit texas,la,florida u good

@@cheetahturner4576A majority of college football fans knows this. Even Saban knew this and he wasn’t from the south originally.
LSU is fine. They’re not much different than Bama tbh. Kelly and NIL all happened in 2021. How can that be his fault? People act like LSU has had a horrible team. Ole Miss had a decent run last yr. That doesn’t make them or Tennessee a winning program. LSU is still up there with Bama, UGA, tOSU and Michigan. The worst in LSU defense in history only lost like 3 games LY.
People don’t act like they had a horrible team they act like they had a phenomenal offense tanked by a terrible defense
@@tomas746they have a terrible D bc of Blake Baker. He was trash at Miami and we were over the hill to get rid of him. The D will NEVER be good weird him, y'all need to get that through your head
If Brian Kelly won’t but atheletes then. Alumni should buy isn’t that how it worked in cheating days?? Someone rich buy LSU A DE
Oklahoma didn't pay 1 million dollars to Williams. You guys are making bs.
These guys don't know Brian Kelly. He's a LAZY recruiter. He also punches his program down so he can say look what I did despite this. He's never going to win a Natty anywhere. There going to have a good offense this year and score a bunch of points and loose a bunch of big games. Kelly's going to say we were competitive despite our poor defense and our defense is only poor because of NIL.
Check the recruiting rankings since he’s been at LSU, the RESULTS doesn’t match your opinion.
Per 247Sports LSU finished 12th in 2022, 6th in 2023, 7th in 2024, and is currently battling for #1 with OSU in 2025 but BK is a lazy recruiter. Please take this garbage opinion somewhere else.
Yeah, not trying to be a hater. LSU really didn't retain much of there 2022 class. I think 5 of there top 10 recruits left, including the only 5 star left. They also lost their top recruit of the 2023 class as well as few others. Brian Kelly is lazy. LSU is currently battling with OSU yes but Notre Dame has the top class right now. A place where Brian Kelly said for years it was impossible to recruit at. In 2025 LSU finished ahead of ND per 247. LSU had 1 player in the top 100. ND had 5. recruiting is also about need. They desperately need a D-Line and they have recruited 3 in the last 3 years? LSU used to be a top 10 team in defense every damn year. Kelly is already selling this narrative that its impossible to win like they used to because of NIL and at the end of year he's going to say we did the best with what we could do given the circumstances. They missed this offseason recruiting D-line and he essentially said it was because he couldn't buy players. I pray LSU fans don't wait 10 years to figure it out.
@@singledadjimbo2968nd has the top class right now😂 like every year yal start strong and fall behind lsu and the rest come signing day
@@jerradguillory7909 yeah I mean recruiting sites tend to drop recruit rankings after they commit so that there are still "top recruits" left on the board and they get traffic. NDs numbers don't look much diffrent than when Kelly was there but the recruits are in a diffrent league. Freeman has retained all of his top recruits or they've been beaten out. I hope LSU does well. If much rather see them at the top of the SEC than Georgia or Bama but Kelly will keep them mid. He doesn't loose games he's supposed to win and he doesn't win games he's supposed to loose.
This is so funny, as BK is doing the same thing. He's just mad my canes are out bidding them lmao. Newsflash, LSU will NEVER win a natty with him.
Scona thinks he knows everything
Moscona forgot to mention LSU has a great TE in Mason Taylor!
Wait, LSU has Blake Baker? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 dude he's so horrible, miami loved it when he left lmao hahahahahahahahahahahaha that's why the defense is so bad hahahahahahahaha
He full of shit how u think he got top running back wide receiver and qb in the 2025 class. He payed that bag
Brian Kelly is lazy and didn’t realize nil would eliminate tigers upper hand. No he actually has to work like he didn’t want to do at nd. He’s always crying and will continue to.
A typical sour grapes reply from a Notre Puke fan. 1988 or 36 years since ND's last natty. ND fans always living in the past.....come back when you all become relevant again. Until that time of relevancy comes again we should appropriately say "the suck of the Irish."
