John Wilson is absolutely correct in his opinion! Bands have bad taste nowadays with their move away from the traditional thematic feel of a medley in favor of new contrivances.
IVE HEARD PIPING AJUDICATORS TALK ABOUT OVER HARMONIZING . HOWEVER I BELIEVE There is too much KITCHEN PIPING in Medleys now The STYLE NOW its LIKE STACCATO ITS TOO MUCH . Who's playing Cockerel and Creel Maid behind the bar THESE DAYS THE more traditional. The bands are boring the ending of MEDLEY now does it need all that??? it Doesnt.The over the over the top STACCATO WELL ITS MAKING it WORSE IN the DRUMMING SENSE.Its become boring.
