    Such an inspiration story I mean to think when you have polio it’s most likely that your either in a wheelchair, braces,or in a iron lung for the rest of your life but this AMAZING women didn’t let those types of things get to her she found away to walk and even RUN again and to actually win 3 medals. This is a very inspiring story😍

    I learned about her in class today, it’s heart breaking how she twisted her ankle and never gave up🙂. Everyone has a second chance to make a difference and she did and I’m proud😁

    I never new about her until this year in therd grade all my life my dad has never told me up until now i lernd it from my teacher great job wilma to you and your mom you and her build up confadence to get that leg healed SO GOD BLESS WILMA RUDOPH THE WORLDS FASTEST WOMEN!!!!!!!!

      @@waynehentley4332 its not, she never was behind. I have read many books and also heard Bud Greenspan say specifically they almost fumbled the baton and Irina Press was about meters ahead and Wilma ran her down, like she was standing still.

    Her story is inspirational because luckily she overcame Polio and became a world class Athlete.
    Luckily a polio vaccine was available back then for Posterity

      I may be wrong but I have a memory of a quote: when asked how come you can run so fast? Wilma answered ' when you have as many brothers and sisters as I have, if you don't run you don't eat'. Hope this is correct - either way she's still the best ever.

    A great 100m , with those long legs she would be up there with the best today. The 200 m time was a bit disappointing, though, last 50,m or so, it was as if she was going backwards. But a great video overall.

      Well, the video says that she won a bronze at 16, then went for gold four years later; and the dates of her life (1940-1994) are given at the end of the video. So since this was the 1960 Rome Olympics, I'm guessing she was around 20.
