For the second : shakespare is my favorite writer . The topic is :my favorite writer And the controling idea is shakespare .
@@animesong2053 For the first one: Cellphones is your topic. The way people communicate is your controlling idea. "Cellphones" is the main topic and then how people communicate with them controls that main topic. Hopefully, that is clear. Your second one looks good to me. Way to go!
Thank you for watching! Actually, this is NOT a mistake. We use the transitions FIRST, SECOND, THIRD, etc followed by a comma in order to show sequence and order in our writing. If I were to use the word THE before the word FIRST - then I would need to change the wording of the sentence to look like this: The first example is that he showed the value of family through his actions.
