Four straight seasons of playoff football and a Super Bowl win. Detroit has the most to play for, and they looked tight last week. They certainly can lose.

To be fair he was already dragging him down by the shoulders backwards, he lost his grip and gripped the helmet. Yeah it's a foul but not why they didn't get the first down so I'm ok with the miss call.

As an Eagles fan when Tampa Bay stopped this play I knew we were done, even if it was a 7 point game still. Congrats to them, they outplayed us, outcoached us, and just wanted it more. We looked pitiful out there. It was embarrassing

The Eagles were stopped twice all year on the "tush push." The first time was against Tampa in the regular season. Not learning from that, they tried it again against Tampa in the playoff game where they were stopped a second time. No other NFL team could do what Tampa did. Pretty amazing when you think about it. Next year teams are going to look to see what Tampa did to win this battle and try to adopt it to stop it. Getting lower in the middle of the line is part of the key according to the Mannings here.
The Bucs were the perfect team to stop that they have one of the best interior line in the league

Well you could take the lead with just a couple field goals. You take the lead with a td whether you go for 1 or 2. If you score twice more you're up 9
Because of the penalty it was a closer try than a normal 2 pt try; so became more enticing because the odds were better. (However, it still failed even with the higher odds!)

He was already being drug back before the facemask. That would be a great way to balance this play. No penalties
Gains needs some credit too. Him and Vita really made the difference, and AFTER he was stopped, he got his head grabbed to teach him a lesson about this shit.
the head grab was a foul its the same as a facemask. if your idea of teaching a lesson is a possible career ending and life changing injury than yeah, that player did a pretty good job at trying to punish hurts. real smart that guy

Of course they stopped it. Several of them were lined up offside, but the refs ignore it because the nfl hates the play.
It didn’t matter anyway, as it was a blowout.
The edge rushers disrupted the "pushers" and pushed them away from the pile. That's the secret to stopping it. That plus the refs were more strict with the offsides & false starts.
I guess the only way to beat the tush push is by having your defense turn themselves into a shovel

You do know the refs on the field don't have 20 different camera angles with slow motion like we see on TV. Depends on if someone is blocking their view, which is possible cause the side ref is on the goal line by the pylon

I agree with OP here -- For example I'm a Lions fan and during the Lions/Rams game there was a clear offsides penalty on the Rams defense yet they called it a false start even though nobody on the Lions Oline moved. When TB got the ball back, there was a clear pass interference call on the Lions DB that wasn't called. It was almost as if the refs were trying to make up for the terrible false start flag. It's just inconsistent.
