Lost on Expert Double Black Diamond Ski Run Takes us Straight to a Cliff! - Gopro died

- Trying a new run called Elk/Endor from the top of HRM on Mt. Hood Meadows' Priavte Reserve results in getting lost after a wrong turn and a cliff encounter. The GoPro dies about halfway through the run, but we crossed over a creek later and make our way to the other side of the mountain in the second parking lot. We had to hike back to get to the lift to ski back around to the right side of the mountain and to our car. Definitely the hardest and most stressful I've ever done.
You guys went down private reserve at mt hood meadows. It about mid mountain, between cascade express on heather canyon side of the mountain. If you go to starlight express you can reach that access gate.
Also if you download a trail map you can figure out the line you want to take before, so you can avoid the cliffs. You should look at the trail map so you know what you’re getting yourself into. Anyway.
When you have never been in an expert area with cliffs , always go where you see the most tracks .
Not always. I once went onto a traverse at cb that led to 30 foot cliffs all around

Looks like so much fun! This season I am gunna go on a run like this but a I think a bit more steep. A few tips for runs like these, look at the ground to somewhat predict where cliffs are and if there is a cliff look where it leads and what is bellow it to make sure you don't get more cliffed off. Before you ski a run and mountain similar to this you can never know if it's going to be terrain like this so defiantly not your fault.

Do what you want and have a good time but you shouldn’t be in stuff like this unless you can fully control yourself, don’t wanna see anyone get hurt, shit can happen fast if you can’t go exactly where you want and pump the brakes immediately don’t go into the trees, wanna see you fellas live long lives

Totes Jerry. That area is mellow and then plenty of routes around the cliff band. You can't claim to "make our way to the other side of the mountain" when you started on that side of the mountian. 🙄Your "hike back" was literally alongside the parking lot. (unless you went suuuuper slow and got stuck on the runout) And then you "ski back around to the right side of the mountain"?! It's a short blue run from the top of HRM back to the base. I'm so drunk and annoyed by this whole thing
