I had two stents installed in 2013 and my cardiologist and primary have kept me on Plavix for over 9 years now. I haven't actually met my cardiologist since before the stents, I just end up meeting with assistants of one kind or another. I'm 61, in excellent health and have no other issues. I never remotely had a heart attack event, just was scoped and 90% blocked back then.

I actually had a heart attack, got stents and have been on these meds for almost 10 years (8 to be exact). No telling what it's done to our bodies for this long.

I've heard People say they were in the Heart Family. I didn't know what it meant. I had a heart attack at work on a 70 foot ladder. Didn't have what I had experienced until the next day. I drove myself to a local hospital 11 miles away. Where I was informed that I had experienced a heart attack. I was rushed to another Hospital an hour away. There I fought out I had a 97 Percent blockage and the right side of My heart. 35 percent on the left side!
Its truely the most horrifying news I've ever received!

Yes myself is 40 and I have had 3 cardiac stents last year, and I am willing to keep on dual antiplatelet therapy + statin despite side effects of these drugs, my only concern is to keep the stents functioning

Can only stopping the baby aspirin with a recent stent ( 3 months) lead to a stroke? ( age73 and on blood thinners)

I'm getting hopeful information on getting off statins, but does this information apply to me because I have a stent. Or is there something different for people with stents,do I have to consider my different situation because I have a stent

It depends on your age. I'm 63 and had a stent put in 4 years ago and am still on them. But I also had CAB X5 almost 13 years ago, so it all depends on age and how bad your heart is.

Latest data shows statins are a waste of time .. most people think that if you had a clot and heart attack they just hear the word heart attack and think you have a bad heart .. most times it's a piece of ruptured plaque that sets off a clot .. thus causing heart attack .. after the stent is in and you go through your recovery with plavix or equivalent for 9 months or so .. go on daily small aspirin and eat a diet the doesn't cause inflammation .. primarily sugar .. get off the carbs . Get a little excercise .. and most people will be much better off than those who are on statin.. taking blood tests regularly worried about cholesterol levels .. it's all about reducing inflammation

@@endofdayzfitnessu.k2126 my choice .. the news has freaked out alot of healthy people about aspirin that have needed a stent .. go on a low dose aspirin every day .. the risks are very minimal with the reward being it has a much better chance of saving your life .. of course get off the sugar high carb diet and live a healthy lifestyle
