Only thing that gets me is what he says about magic.
Being that he drew Jinn and Salem it's obvious he knows the story and how Semblence/Dust/Magic are all connected.
I can only surmise that it's a joke reflective on the actual plot of the starting volumes where no one but Ozpin/Salem/Cinder are actually aware of proper magic (being that Ozpin has been the gatekeeper of all information if you think about it over the eras) so everyone else only knows that there has been a '"Semblence" of magic' from time immemorial.
So come the bomb drop that proper magic is revealed with characters going "Real magic, no way!?" It's humorous that it's a shock despite the cosmic powers everyone in this universe already posses that it's crazy to them for some reason.
While I believe there has been a lot of making shit up as they go along; I do love how we're lead on to believe everything due to Ozpin's control, only for everything to unravel over time as we are brought into his secret peacekeeping and eventually the rug that even Qrow wasn't aware he was standing on is pulled out from under him by Jinn.
I have gripes about the rediculousness of Ozpin apparently having no plan despite his age and accomplishments.

Seeing as she's unkillable I can only surmise the plan is and always has been to simply "pluck the weeds" whenever Salem gets ahold of people and settle the world down in the aftermath, but for some reason; nope, he can't even think of that and so locks himself away in the back of Oscar's mind.
It's a shame he couldn't have such an idea and be it the basis of his peacekeeping efforts with Qrow, but I understand that perhaps knowing your enemy is immortal could tempt you to change sides even if containment and repolsion was a solid plan due to the lifetime dedication it would require.

He didn't seem to grasp that Salem was playing a chess game that started in v1, that she was thinking 20 moves ahead and building panic that started with the dust robberies that were meant to force the city into disarray and hopelessness. Or that it was used to blow up the trains at the end of v2. Like he makes fun of the fact that they had a small budget, then complains about the animation like... you know why the animation isn't perfect, you're just being a douche now. And did he watch v6 at all? They basically explained what the difference between magic and semblances were in one scene in 6x3... the power man now had was simply a SEMBLANCE of what they once were. Semblances are magic, but not enough to be considered magic, in the same way a AA battery charges stuff, but isn't enough to be considered a generator. His opinion might be different from ours but I think there are a couple valid points and it's a good laugh. I dont think the point is to make people not watch it. Its satire which is meant to over exaggerate problems and have a good laugh at those faults. Rwby isn't perfect but despite that we will keep watching. To add on the what Kira and Blarf said, Jello never really explicitly states to stop watching RWBY. The most he says is to check out RWBY Chibi, the series that arguably does use the characters better. And he's had to have watched the series himself to make a review of it. He's even stated that he really liked Volume 6 and was curious how Volume 7 would be.
At the end of the day, the important part of any show or series is to be able to step back from it and see that it's not perfect and people are going to point it out. Some people may do it out of malice, but some do it to bring those issues up so they get potentially fixed later on. We have to be able to understand that just because we like something doesn't make it perfect. I really love the series D.Gray-Man but holy hell does it have a ton of problems, and people are more than willing to point them out. That's just how things go.

@@Hyperiem Really? So you don't consider "clips and clops so much it resembles a horse and lip flaps that look like they were done by a fish on a wall" to be insulting and hurtful, as well as provably false, to not be mean-spirited? Were I an animator who worked extremely hard for long hours etc. on something like this, I'd find it pretty damn hurtful. Are there elements of satire in this? Sure. And a few of them are even funny. But when you put an emphasis on something like the Dust plot and then get the facts about it completely wrong, it's not satire. It's ignorance, or malice. We are told by cinder that they are going to move the dust out of the warehouse. We then SEE the dust crates from the warehouse being loaded into the train cars when Ruby is being dragged to Torchwick and we SEE the crates surrounding the bombs in the train cars. For all the bitching that is done about "show, don't tell", this is something that was BOTH and yet this video focuses on that and completely gets it wrong. In addition, we are explicitly told that Faunus have one animal feature. So it explains exactly why not all of them have tails, or why some have four ears, which this video treats as some sort of flaw in the show or that an explanation for this is missing when it is explicitly explained!
As to the "introduces a bunch of characters and then never develops any of them". The vast majority of those characters are introduced in a tournament arc as opponents or combatants. How many of the students in Class 1-B of My Hero Academia (as an example) do we have deep backgrounds on? Or the villains mooks (out side of the few primary antagonists) when the villains attack UA Or some of the other students in the Training Camp arc of Food Wars (as another example). We see a lot of other students competing in those events, but we don't get deep background on them, or even on the other residents of Polar Star Dorm other than Soma and Megumi. In MHA, a lot of those Class1-B heroes have pretty interesting looks and neat powers like the tournament arc characters in RWBY do, but we're not clamoring for deep dives into hyperdeveloping those characters. It's an unreasonable criticism.
And right after the video complains about not developing characters, it takes shots at V4 and V5 as complete garbage, despite the fact that those volumes are extensively about developing characters, especially our primary protagonists and a number of the primary side characters like Qrow, Ren, and Nora, as well as the villains.
And on the whole Semblances/Dust/Magic issue; we are shown and told in-universe that Semblances and the effects of Dust usage are pretty well understood as part of the natural order of things, but that Magic is shown through the characters' actions and reactions to its existence as being something exceptionally outside of the norm. it's consistent and kept consistent there.
And I'm not even going to need to address the video's comment about the Blake and Yang thing. The reason for the bitching and bias there both in this video and a lot of similar trolling videos is pretty much summed up by the phrase " blatantly obvious homophobia", so the less said about that the better.
The show is not without flaws, and not without some problems. Yes, it has had some stumbles at points, but it has definitely (as shown by V6) recovered from those stumbles in a major way. It's gone back to elements that made it originally successful in the early volumes and that has aided that recovery extensively. If you want to criticize it, then criticize honestly. If you're going to satirize, satirize things that are actual flaws, vices, or issues. Don't create ones that aren't there.
