    I've been an Eckist since 1970, I was 15 years old. I guess some consider a 'cult' to be a path with a living teacher. Call it what you will, once firmly set on the spiritual planes you pretty much have your growth on your own. It's good to have a teacher to point the way as you start your path, like learning to ride a bike, but eventually you can ride that bike on your own.

      I'm also a generational eckist 3rd generation. It's an individual path but growing up I learned the laws of silence. Only a select group finds eck. It's not a coincidence. The teachings are inner and outer but individual. Thank you for this. Great explanation.

    I'm a Spiritualist and we shared a building with Eckcankar. We are very similar. When my church mentor died he came to me in a dream and said that he went into the Hu. I saw the word Hu. I had no idea what it meant. So I looked it up. I've been doing the Hu chant for a couple of weeks now. Listening to you has convinced me to visit the church. I super excited.

      You probably have discovered that the HU is now on many YT channels. 🌸❤️🌸The sounds vary greatly so I look for the right fit. I especially like the one that has Sri Harold’s quotes, as they are beautiful contemplation seeds. What I appreciated from the start of this journey is it’s all between me & God, and it’s my own unique path, so I’m creative with it, sing the HU is a variety of ways, & have amazing experiences. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

    Eckankar has been the best path for me. It’s an individual path. Meaning, I learn through experiences, knowing and being. I was brought up a Christian and had so many questions no one could answer until I stepped on Eckankar path. Spiritual Freedom is what I’m learning, each and every day. I love my fellow Eckist and Sri Harold. Love is the binding force. May the blessings be.

    I’m an eckist from Norway, grew up evangelical Christian (not many of them here in Norway, most are spiritual or atheist, but I was born in to it) but left when I was 18 because I’m gay and got a lot of judgement from the church . Did not follow any religion for many years, but when I was 40 I found eckankar and from day one I Ioved it. I have had amazing spiritual experiences in Eckankar and I can be myself without any fear of judgement from the eck community. I wish more people knew about eckankar because honestly it’s an amazing religion, it’s just fantastic and so adventurous in my opinion❤love your talk….

      Sri Zadok speaks about the man known as Jesus Christ...
      Sri Zadok walked up behind me. "The man known as Jesus Christ was a contemporary of mine. We met on several occasions while he was preparing for his mission. We talked but we both know our missions were different. You see, because of the nature of Jesus's works and words, he must constantly return to the court of Yama until there are no more misunderstandings involving his name - which may very well continue to the end of the Yuga or until all remnants of karmic debt incurred in his name are cleared up. His mission was that of a world savior and by this he will be bound to the world."

    Thank you Thea for sharing your experience. I too can attest to the validity of this great path. I began 47 years ago in a thriving spiritual community in Southern California. We were like bees in a hive and really enjoyed our gatherings. Eckankar is an endless spiritual journey like no other, yet all paths to God are valid & each Soul has the right & freedom to travel whichever road to God they wish, or none at all. Whether or not, we are all moving through time & space at our own pace & hopefully free will. All roads eventually lead to Rome as they say. Some of my best friends have been atheists & they are on their way too. May the Blessings Be.

    Thanks for this video. A Scientologist gave me Paul Twitchel’s “The Spiritual Notebook “ forever ago. There I found the sacred word HU & I started having important past life recall, and amazing dreams & visions, & the adventures or learning has never stopped. To tell ppl about one’s experience sounds like bragging but that’s not the intent. You want others to have an idea of what’s possible, like serious protection, physical & emotional healing, travel to the distant past, seeing the future & more. With my son, sister & dad dying it’s been helpful to see them regularly on the other side, to know that SOUL, the true self is eternal, and life always follows death. Anyone on any path, or no path at all, can chant the HU, it’s for all people.

    Being an ECkist has made me more confident, compassionate , and successful in my life. It has taught me it’s not all about me, but what we can do to help uplift others and find their golden spiritual center.

I like that you lead your own path, respect all religions. Thank you for your thoughts and your experiences especially the ones about soul travel. Valuable information because many people are reporting their out of body or near death experiences and that's important now just as associating with Eckankar is and you find that Eckankar still has a place even now in the mainstream of life. So thank you, thank you, thank you.

Yesterday I read the little book, ECK Wisdom and am now reading Harold Klemp’s autobiography. I was a bit thrown off by the terminology but replacing ECK with Holy Spirit for now helps. So far everything I’m reading resonates with my spiritual journey.

    My father was an Eckist... Infact hes among the 1st group of members who joined this movement during the 70s in Malaysia... The Eck Master Mahanta at that time was Paul Twitchel and Darwin... My dad passed away 2 years ago, he always does the HU spuritual exercise, once in a week goes to the center satsang, he sometimes requested by eck challas to give talks on shariat ki sugmad or other books since he was among the oldest member... sometimes they also do gathering at house of an eck member where they do satsang... My father also had a huge collection of all the reference books, audio discourses, letters written by all 3 Mahantas, magazines etc... He was a fan of Eckankar till his last days... nw im not an eckist but i know abt this movement, but in my opinion i guess its a vry quiet and peaceful religious path... I personally liked the comic book mahanta n the talking bird and book about the construction of golden wisdom temple in Minnesota...

    Thanks for bringing out this topic. I only wish to add that Eckankar is a Living path in the sense that growth never ends thanks to the Living ECK Master who does not rely solely on ancient scriptures handed down by a prior "prophet". The Living Word helps us reach higher planes according to our personal understanding and state of acceptance of the inner teachings. The subtlety of experiences in our daily lives tesches us the profound realities of Love and Gratitude. "Soul exists because God loves it" and the maturity of Soul is everyone's destiny, regardless of one's path, religious background or lack thereof. The only difference is the willingness to reach our goal of God Consciousness sooner or later. May The Blessings Be!

    It sounds like you may be struggling within yourself to convince yourself that Eckankar is not a cult. If we isolate ourselves from others we can set up our own self-imposed prison or these feelings can come from a past life where we got lost in a cult that we thought was a spiritual path. We all face tests along the way & we must find our way to make it to the next level. I have had my share of challenges over the decades, and it might be reasonable to say that I have seen it all, but never did I ever feel Eckankar was a cult. It is a path that leads Soul to spiritual freedom & once you find the door to love, that is just the beginning. Anyone can walk away from this path any time because the teachings have total respect for "free will," and no one stands in your way but yourself. Anyone wanting to build a personal cult from the students of Eckankar will find no success.

    I have been a member of Eckankar since 1980 and served as a cleric for 16 years. Over that time I officiated and/or managed over 100 worship services. The word "cult" is highly charged, but depending upon how you define it, Eckankar does exhibit *some* of those qualities. Cults often have an individual they hold in reverence to the point of worship, and the members of Eckankar hold their spiritual leader in this way. Eckankar holds that there are many paths to God, but that theirs is the most direct path. Eckankar has a set of beliefs and practices that are not common in the West, but have their origin largely from Sikhism. Eckankar has a set of initiations that people earn over time. People are cautioned that they can lose those initiations, and the spiritual benefits/progress they offer, if they leave the path. All of these features are things that one would expect to see in a cult.
    On the other hand, many see the word "cult" as a group which restricts the freedom of its members and often extracts money and other favors from the members. Eckankar does none of this. Where the Mormon religion and many Christian groups demand a 10% tithing from their members, Eckankar only has a minor annual membership fee. Eckankar also waves that fee for those who truly cannot afford it. There are no specific Eckankar communities, ashrams or other communal living groups. People who leave Eckankar do so without backlash from the organization.
    The members truly do not feel that Eckankar is anything restrictive in the way you'd expect a cult to be, but it does have some features that are cult-like as described in the first paragraph above.

    • @shantibeefree
      @shantibeefree Před 7 měsíci

      A cult can also manipulate a person into believing they are better then others and so they judge family members and end up losing them on their life because of their ego/ judgingness... Cults also seem to say only the leader knows the world better and the students need to put all of their life into what the leader thinks is best for them. That is not always good for the person. Having the hu in the background of this video is also showing how the hu is also a tool that is used to affect people to be a certain way.

    One would have to look to the: The Nicene Creed*
    It establishes the bases for what is considered occultism related to the world and religions. It’s tied to the (Trinity) Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Again, the freedom of: ECKANKAR, explores the (non-local) experiences of Soul, and to recognize that SOUL is not governed by any (Religion) free to practice a spiritual path of unfolding and experiencing the wonder of Soul.

  • @WillyEast
    @WillyEast Před 10 měsíci +5

    I do have a couple of questions perhaps you could answer after sharing my experience. I had been an Eckist for 10 years but had lost interest in reading the discourses. I first joined after seeing television commercials for Eck advertising past lives, dreams and soul travel. I was mostly interested in those topics but when I joined the focus was more on religious concepts and stories rather than actually soul travelling so I lost interest. Also I think I was looking for more of a vibrant community and there weren't many younger members I could relate to. In a way many of the local branches were dying off sadly.
    I also have a big interest in other religions and felt that Eckankar does just want you to study theirs.
    Anyways I would like to hear how you were able to actually accomplish soul travel. It is something that Eckankar rarely talks about in personal experiences. They used to publish a journal with user stories but stopped that as well. It would be nice if you wrote a book on how you were able to soul travel, the exercises you did and your experiences.

      As an eckist for over 30 years, I’ve found that the pertinent ‘procedure’ for soul travel isn’t easily taught with outer words. The process of contemplating on a regular and consistent basis, sort of ‘awakens’ deeper parts of yourself. The repetition allows you to eventually see the inner patterns that are occurring. At least for me that’s the way it worked. I don’t think I could figure it out from outer knowledge alone if I studied for 50 years. As a 55 year old, I can hands down say that is the number 1 benefit in day to day life that I gained.

    Eckankar is a religious movement that was founded by Paul Twitchell in 1965. The term "Eckankar" translates to "Co-worker with God" or "Servant of God." It is considered a modern-day spiritual teaching that incorporates elements of various religious traditions, including Hinduism, Buddhism, and Sufism.

      I will look that up. One thing I didn’t mention is that back in my early 20s, the mahanta gave me the most vivid soul travel experience I’ve had to date where he showed me I was a priestess in ancient Egypt and I had supernatural gifts. I feel like he showed me that for a reason and that I’m supposed to understand that part of myself now. He’s never given me any message not to explore it and it’s only ever had a positive impact on my life. I know it’s unconventional for an eckist but it’s my path. ✨

    Eckankar was the first of two cults that I joined that calls its members ___ists.
    The recommended member fee was $130 a year back when people earned $17 or so less a week on average, but they will accept a dollar, if that is what can be consistent.
    Cult just means a minority culture and there are always those set apart by their beliefs and practices. There is nothing inherently wrong in the meaning of cult. In fact, they tend to be safer choices than mainstream claims to religion.
    I have been looking for Eckists to interview.

      Through techniques I learned from Eckankar I saw that I had past/parallel lives as a priestess in Ancient Egypt, Atlantis, and in the Sirius star system. Carrying that type of training has made it easy for me to connect with deities and translate their messages or channel their energies. If I had to give it a name I guess I would just say the path of being a priestess but each deity has a different way and medicine about them. Also in some of the Dead Sea Scroll Gnostic teachings, Jesus is saying to one of his Disciples, that when you leave here and come across various toll keepers and other Beings, to just keep saying you are "A Son/Daughter of the Pre-Existent One" and I wonder if that's the Pure Source which is Prior to the double headed one. The experiences came before then on their own. Like it would happen when it was supposed to and I wasn’t able to get any control over when or how I would have them. But after a certain amount of years I figured out how to get into that in between state in a way that just propels me out of my body pretty easily. I found it takes these 4 ingredients in perfect balance: Love (warmth in the heart area), seeing the Light of god in your 3rd eye, sound (hearing the eck stream in your ears), and lastly, surrender or a letting go feeling. Alchemically balancing those 4 things makes the cells in the air speed up and then it feels like I pop right out or sometimes like slipping out. Hard to explain but I gave it a shot lol.

    All religions are cults by definition yet some say cults don't last 20 years. Well Eckankar has been around for secretly since Ra ran Eckankar practitioners underground and released to the general public through Paul Twitchell in the 1960's. What many do not know is Eckankar is Self taught daily and generally meetups once weekly or a few classes. The key is allowing the spirit within to guide and teach and no experience is incorrect because each soul has a specific purpose in the World of God. This type of teaching from the inner was also encourage by St. Ignatius to his Jesuit follower in which the Christian instructor was not allowed the teach but could ask the student certain question to see the progress of the student and could could share his experiences but must emphasize the student's experience would not be exactly the same. Luke 17:21 tells us that the Kingdom of heaven is within other religions tell us to seek within and be taught by that which cannot be tampered with by so called interpretation of other men.. Eckankar guides one into this realm or rather a personal relationship with With that which many call God. As Psalms 82.6 is ignored by the Church it is the Key to the path to the God within. While it is difficult to accept the concept of the Mahanta this Mahanta is just a title only when or if the Mahanta appears in the light body. However this appearance is really the Eck Or HOLY SPRIIT because many humans need or want something to believe in that looks like them. This force or holy spirit or as Moses was told "I am that I AM" is the God particle that exists within every atom Heretofore "God live in you and You live in God." Eckankar teaches what some call the Christ Consciousness of which has many levels. This state of conscious is attainable by all men thus again Psalms 82.6. Yes Eckankar does quote from many religions because not any single religion has the full truth because this is the way of God. Christ was not the last name of Jesus but a state of consciousness he attained but such was known before centuries before the birth of Jesus and is why he was called Jesus "The Christ" not Jesus Christ. Christ achieved the highest level of God consciousness which means he had the command of the atoms but he was not the first last to reach such consciousness; most notably Moses has achieved the Christ consciousness and had the command of the atoms. This Eckankar reveals the path to the higher consciousnesses It is not instantaneous. After, all those missing years of Jesus, he was with the Eck Master Zodak a spiritual traveler of many who travel the universes of God and assists those who seek truth and reality of their purpose IN GOD.

    Yeah Ekankar is not dangerous or harmful but it is a new age version of an ancient path and was founded by an American man
    who claimed to have some special initiation and founded his own lineage changed the letters in the names of the teachers in the lineage and made up the title Mahanta to give himself a God like persona. Read Ford Johnson's "Confessions of a God Seeker" to learn the not so pretty history of this path or don't if you want to keep being a follower.
