just to confirm he hates it.
Glad that I wouldn't be the only one taking another bite or sip of something, making sure if I don't like it or not. XD I mean, at least me tried it.
What I like about Chris in Abroad in Japan is that he isn't just talking about an interesting subject, he's really very clever and sly about his topics, and he is both smart and well-read in general. Many other CZcamsrs in general don't match up, with a lack of insight, wit, or just plain research that really shows. Well done.
Definitely agree
Is he?
@@JediFarce I don’t know if you’re saying it in a demeaning way but yes he is. It’s okay to compliment other people and say they’re smart :)
I think the film school and being one of the few popular current CZcamsrs that don't have a backstory of "I happened to be a teenager with no job and nothing to do when CZcams was just starting/getting popular and got lucky."
I really enjoy his sense of humor, and he really is great at writing. Or improv, I suppose.
As a HCP myself (Healthcare Professional) I find that bag even more hilarious 🤣
i thought cream collon was more related to work
The food is great but the room you're filming in just looks so insanely cozy
Cozy indeed 🌈
It's just a studio set, though. You can't actually sit in any of the furniture or put coins in the mini-arcade. It would be like biting into plastic display food.
hi pat what do you think of chris his anime version of himself he has in the back ground?
Crazy things gonna happen there, he said. Can't wait for Chris' OF ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

This guy has the most loyal fanbase ever. Probably one of the few channels on youtube that gets, in views, half of its total subscribers count.
Nice job Christ. Keep it up.
Yeah, CZcams is the fanbase
@@sm79165 🙏 Kami Chris-Sama
@@sm79165 never thought somebody would be put to sleep by Gabber, definitely how they do it in Scotland
Usually the way it works is the more frequently you upload, the lower the amount of views compared to your subscriber count. Someone who is uploading daily should expect to have 10% of views compared to subscribers. Chris uploads less frequently so he should expect a higher percentage.
Dude thats perfectly normal, tons of channels get that viewership and more
I’d imagine marketing had to give several presentations to various higher-ups before commercial labeling was approved. Somehow, they all still agreed on Sugar Butter Sand Tree. Never change, Japan!! 🇯🇵
I have a feeling Chris made this video just to talk about family mart fried chicken again
Quite possibly.

I've been watching you ever since the learning Kanji video. I'm so glad to see how far you've come with your content while still being your witty, clever self. Now you get to film in a room you like and your Japanese became so much better.
I just saw that you had coffee with Ken Watanabe. All I want to say is: “For the love of all that is good in the world, stay in Japan!!” There is still so much we need to learn and see, brought to us by a hilariously sarcastic British guy and his squad of epic local accomplices.

Like a Slowpoke into Slowbro.
Magicarp into Gyrados
I am not sure that being compared with Slowpoke is an actual compliment 🤔

He's lookin more like Munchlax in this vid
A Munchlax consumes copious amounts of food and drink and then eats sleep-inducing chocolates, evolving into Snorlax.
I think Chris is happy to have an excuse to buy a crap ton of snacks to eat 😂
It's just part of his beauty routine! He needs to keep up with his cuddliness 😊
spam musubis (which look similar to the spam onigiri in your vid) are common in Hawaii and soooo good! the spam is usually cooked in some sort of sauce (I cook it in equal amounts of shoyu, sugar, and a little sesame oil) so it's a lot more flavorful and I highly recommend trying it :)
The name of the item he bought actually said "SPAM Musubi" on the bag, though I assume Chris just thought that was the brand name or something.
@@trn8969 it’s bc SPAM is the brandname for the spiced ham they use in the musubis lol

Watching this after the studio reveal video so recognized the background!
Japan really is so varied with their snacks. They will combine the weirdest things.
Also given how much drinking alcohol is part of the culture it doesn't surprise me that they have hangover cure stuff. Also the energy drinks are probably cause so many people work late hours.
Thanks Chris, been following you for years and it’s been an awesome journey, God bless!!🎉
"Notice potatoes is spelled wrong."
Ahh yes because "chiken nuggets," is clearly just an alternative spelling of milkshake
He also didn’t see ‘hambugers’!
Oh my god, I didn't notice those mistakes. God damn it, Chris.
I went to a hotel that had "Randori" they just spelled out the katakana which was ランドリー
Along with hambuger!
I couldn't stop laughing when Chris realised he had a missed opportunity at advertising with the food-box companies. He genuinely looked like it hit him, followed by the disappoint on his face lol
Feeling cooped up during this pandemic I love watching your videos to give me a taste of the outside world with great comedy 👍 thank you for your efforts and entertainment
Thank you for introducing the delicious food of Japan to the world!
Damn Chris literally went "for fuck’s sake" while drinking the one cup sake and it brought me back to that golden classic moment in an older video with Natsuki mispronouncing "sake"

The "genji-pies" seemed to me to be palmiers. We have those here in Portugal, either baked fresh on the cafe and more on a cake type style, or in the same small and crunchy format in bags. Big ones do taste better and make for a nice afternoon break c:
yeah in argentina we call them "palmeritas" and you can buy them at bakery's
In Mexico we call them "orejitas" (which translates to "small ears"). Pretty funny. But they're delicious!
I don't know where 'here' is for you, but in Poland we have those too and they're called 'palmiers' as well. They're just either much bigger (as of size of the palm) sold separately or cookie-sized sold in packages of 10 or so.
in germany we call them schweineohren(pig-ears)
@@lubt1529 That was my first thought too.
Those look like Schweineohren.
And now i want some :D

Fun fact: “libera” means “free” in Italian (the conjugation refers to feminine nouns though) and I don’t know if they intended for it to be that way, but maybe the mean to say that you can feel “free” of guilt and eat the chocolate without worrying about calories?
Why does the word "freedom" have a gender????
@@shahirraeed latin based languages be like that
A lot of languages have grammatical gender systems (with a lot of differences). For example, "bird" is masculine in French (so you would refer to it as "he" instead of "it), but feminine in Russian (="she").
"Freedom" is feminine in both, also in German, Italian and many other languages :)
@@shahirraeed I think nearly all Romance languages (aka those that have Latin as a common root like Italian, French, Spanish and Romanian) have gendered conjugation, and that’s just how the system works, in fact as a non binary myself it’s pretty hard to find a neutral way to express things since verbs, adjectives, nouns and pretty much everything else is either “masculine” or “feminine”
@@shahirraeed just a note though “freedom” is translated as “libertà” which in Italian is a feminine noun, however “free”, the adjective, exist in both feminine (“libera”) and masculine (“libero”) forms
