Very helpful that this is here after he goes 13 to the canes
Any Carolina fans checking back on this again?
Yup
Yes
Yup
yup
Seth Jarvis sounds like he'd be perfect for any team.
I love the fact that you very well could be making a video on every prospect. This will be a goldmine in a few years.
it'd be cool to see what was thought about those late round picks that pan out
What this kid can do with his speed and his hands on the rush is magical
Played with him when I was young in Winnipeg he's always been so unbelievably quick. Used to wear a silver bucket too😂😂
Draft Dynasty has a really good video on him. From what I've seen, he's a smart player with a lot of skill who looks like he'll be able to put it all together, offensively.
Draft dynasty puts in work he knows his shit.
I was just gonna say, I subscribe to his channel and Jarvis is one of the few players who I can recall and really catch my attention. Draft Dynasty was also very high on him
Kind of like Brad Marchand. The talent is not elite but does every little thing well. The defense and compete level are there, maybe without that nasty side of Marchand. With his speed, awareness and defensive contribution he will certainly be a Top 9 and if his offense transfers to the NHL he's can play Top 6. Ceiling might be around 60 pts. Remember Marchand was a 50-55 point guy for a few years until Pastrnak evolves and plays with him and Bergeron then he jumped to 80 and 100 point level. Maybe we can see Jarvis do that as well.
Jarvis is really dominating the AHL
He is going to be one of the steals of the draft. 100%
There’s gonna be a lot of steals in this draft
@@leyladerben4227 nah, Jarvis is going to be an elite goal scorer
@@marshylicmarsh 42 goals in 58 chl games doesn't look like an elite goal scorer to me. Especially when he had 16 the year before.
Sebastian Patriksson watch him play, he’s insane
Aged well
I think oil will take him to be a winger with mcdavid
GG to my Canes. This kid is reminding me of a Brian Gionta on the up side.
Kid is a stud . Probably my favourite out of this draft for whatever that’s worth.
Look forward to him being in Carolina! Looks to fit the culture and fills a need
I saw him play a lot in Portland. The guy is the real deal. I really hope he falls into Anaheim lap. He’s exactly the type of player we’ll look back at 10 years from now and wonder how we missed him.
dude is going to be a superstar
3:18 thanks shannon that’s why i’m here lmao
Winger in the NHL
lemme put it this way, in almost every other recent draft he’s a top 10 pick
He reminds me a lot of Travis Konecny
That's the exact comparison I was gonna make.
Very nice pro debut season, 6 goals, 9 points, +4 in 6 AHL games so far.
Keep these prospect vids going !!!! Very interesting
Happy Saint Jean
He's going to be a superstar
We've had Winterhawks ticket packages the last few years and you are spot on about his work ethic and being good all-around. I really hope he lands someplace where he has a good chance to make it!
he had a great rookie season with the Canes
When you said "little player that is driven by determination and can almost win game by himself" and " isn't really elite in any specific skills but is good all around", i though about Gallagher.
He's making debut today
If the Islanders lose against Florida AND don’t win the Lafrenière sweepstakes, I hope the Sens get Jarvis (at 14 or 15) with their pick. Sadly the pick is top 3 protected so if they get first overall Lafrenière becomes an Islander and we get nothing until next year.
I think Jarvis would be an awesome addition to the Sens winger corps and I think he could play 2nd or 3rd line and still have awesome linemates and decent minutes. A third line of Shane Pinto, Seth Jarvis and Alex Formenton, anyone? Ok, ok I’m getting ahead of myself (Jarvis has yet to be drafted and will probably go earlier than 14 and Pinto won’t even play his first pro game until after next season at the earliest). Still, it looks awesome on paper 😂.
Looking at it now he was a top 6 player in the draft. Arguably #6 but definitely top 6.
He kinda sound like Brendan Gallagher. He could be really good
Was thinking the same thing sounds like he’s decently skilled and works hard and ends up putting in more goals than you think he should very reminiscent of what Gallagher does
Now that he is up, playing with the Canes, I wonder if he will be our new Ray Whitney.
Jarvis reminds me of Yamamoto. Both are undersized. Both put up 99 points in the WHL and is a sneaky late first rounder. Hope the Edmonton Oilers get him
Can you add avg. time on ice for the prospects you do? So we get and idea what lines they play on. Thanks
Why? The guys in the mens leagues get less ice time. The guys in juniors are playing against other junior players. It's about their skillset, not their ice time.
I think with his work ethic even if he pans out as somewhat of a bust he could work on line 3 like you see in nashville with their shorties
He played on my team as a 6 year old when we were 8 and he led our league in scoring lol
Reminds me of a konecny or Yamamoto
That would be awesome if the flames drafted him they need some depth on the right wing
The first player comparable I thought of when you started describing him was Craig Smith. Accurate?
More Winterhawks content please
Are you going to post a mock draft once the lottery is done with?
Portland Winterhawks are the best Junior franchise in hockey.
If you haven't been to one of the things you should. Almost 9,000 fans game. They are winners!
He reminds me of Andrew Cogliano. He doesn't have the elite skill, but he has good senses and awareness, and works hard to win games
I would say he’s pretty good
I don’t know too much about Jarvis, tho from what I hear is a Dylan Larkin comparison fair?
I think the oilers need a second kailer Yamamoto for mcdavid so Jarvis guts
*fits
Everything about him really seems like a Columbus Pick. Would definitely look nice to see him there.
Who do you think the leafs can take in the second round to become the “next” Nick Robertson?
Safer pick than Perfetti or Rossi.
Could this wide range of opinion be because we didn't get to see these players play a full season this year?
So 3 years on. i think the Canes made a good pick here ;).
He sounds like a Brendan Gallagher in terms of size and effort
Iirc his per 60 numbers are so good because he doesnt play 22 or 23 minutes a game like stars do in the O and Q
ISS has byfield at 4, I would take whatever they say with a grain of salt
Byfield is overrated tbh.
Dont think thats a reflection of byfield but more so of the other players that passed him in the second half
For me 1 lafreniere 2 stutzle 3 rossi 4 byfield
Assuming NJ gets 3 first rders in 2020 I could see Seth going to NJ 16-20th.
Jarvis is the kind of guy that will probably not be absolute elite, but he's very unlikely to be a bust. Being so well-rounded, he should fit in somewhere. And his size... Come on, haven't we learned yet?
Anyone who has watched him is he kinda the Yamamoto type player?
A little. More like konecny tho
Seth is actually my vice principles son
😁....and I’m your Vice Principal’s Aunt 😁......Seth is actually my great nephew: his grandfather & my husband are brothers
seems like a dubas guy....ill take him on the leafs lets goooooooooooooo
"He may need top 6 minutes to flourish."
Coming back here when Seth is playing on Carolina's top line.
He’s still there
I'm not too high on Jarvis. He doesnt have the offensive superstar talent to make up for his height. If I'm drafting a 2 way all around forward, I dont want him to be 5'10". I'd take him around 20
I don’t think size matters all too much as long as they aren’t like 5’4
👉 Seth Jarvis is coming to Montreal and he will wear the Habs holy flannel 😉
Habination - Not all players of this size will be there when Jarvis is ready. You need the best talent and then you can always adjust. Jarvis' talent is visible to connoisseurs.
matthew - No, the Habs need talent. Wingers like Jarvis, Drouin, Suzuki, Poehling, Domi............are versatile players. Bergevin explained this very well in a press conference. He drafted several centers which can also change position. Hockey has changed a lot.
Related to Doug Jarvis? Too lazy to google
No
No, he’s not related to Doug Jarvis.....I know this for sure because I’m Seth’s great aunt. His grandfather and my husband are brothers
As a Canes fan, what can we expect from Seth? Looks like a hard working kid with slick hands and a slick stick. Hope he finds success down here in Carolina.
"He's small, so teams might pass up on him"
Alex Debrincat knows all about that
Filip Letkiewicz I don’t think he’s done growing yet....he’s just 18 and a lot of young men don’t finish growing until around age 20. ....quite common among the guys in our family (I’m Seth’s aunt) I think Seth could still get taller and will definitely bulk up more
@@judijarvis9804 tell him we are super excited here in the Carolinas. We can't wait to cheer for him.
@@bottomingoutsniper3925 Thank you for your support and excitement!
DeBrincat wasn''t passed up just because he was small. It was also because people questioned that he was a product of McDavid and Dylan Strome. It turns out Dylan Strome might actually be a product of McDavid and DeBrincat. Anyways the two play on the same team again now.
Seth"cookie"Jarvis!?!
😁. “Cookie Jar”......one of the nicknames my son (Seth’s cousin) used to have when he played in highschool 😁
@@judijarvis9804 nice m8!
Hi
Sounds like someone the Canucks should draft, but probably won't. :-D (well if you guys had a pick) lol
I am happy with JT Miller. He is worth the risk.
Really want Columbus to take him. Future replacement for Atkinson.
Hi cats
Anyone here after leafs traded for 15th overall and hoping he falls to them?
As a diehard Portland winter hawks fan (the team he plays for) he is very over rated and isn’t that good of a goal scorer but great defensively
