I didn't get a chance to stream due to being unwell, but I've played a lot. I've also started overfishing a bit more lately which is SO different to my usual Freelance shenanigans. Am really happy with this score, it's a new PB for me overall. Thank you so much to Dreykopff, Mayonetta and Ako for letting me join.

Adding Kraken into Salmon Run was such a good decision, it’s so fun

y'all make it seem so easy!! i was struggling at HLM big time but i still had so much fun this big run! while i am very very happy with my highscore of 174 i do one day hope to break the 200 egg barrier, and seeing your gameplay is so inspiring lol

I only recently started overfishing with more dedication so I have a lot to learn but the team I played with were great at giving me direction. Playing with better players is always such a treat, you learn so much.

Impressive! My best was 161, but I was really lucky, with a high tiide mothership + grizzco charger + good freelancers.

For real, though, the way your team maintains turf and never gives lessers a chance to gain any foothold is phenomenal! Your wave 1 almost looked like a Go Getter wave, not HLM, it was so cleanly handled!

I'll definitely be rewatching this for some good strats to pick up and practice. I especially liked the trick of weakening the flopper but not initially killing it so that you could then shoot it down almost right over the basket. Never thought to intentionally weaken a flopper like that before luring! BRILLIANT!

Anyway, this was a really fun Big Run. Joe is a really fun King Salmonid to fight. I managed to pull 166 eggs in Freelance, which turns out is actual top 5 %, so I'm pretty happy with that. And I got my 10 Joes badge which I'm also pretty happy with. All in all a good weekend of slaughtering Salmonids! :)
Thank you and I'm glad you enjoyed the event! I feel like this Big Run was one of the best ones yet due to the great map and new boss. It was an amazing weekend of gaming.
Turf and lesser control is such a vital part of going for high scores - it's almost overlooked or not given as much importance as the other objectives (eggs and bosses) but it is so vital to movement and safety. All four players need to be contributing to this too so it can be tough to pull off in Freelance and without dedicated communication.
Watching pro overfishers play is such a wonderful experience, your team has great synergy!
Also, you Kraken moves were so satisfying to watch, amazing job an congrats!!

Update with my final score and thoughts:
Managed a 117 (also had a 116 and a few 110)…but most matches were barely making above quota. And often when we had a score closer to 100 it seemed that I had well over 30 eggs while at least one teammate had less than 20. Seems there were a lot of non-Salmon Run players, some had no clue what to do…and it got worse the higher my rank went! I started at Profreshional on Friday night when I got the 116, then as I ranked up to EVP on Sunday afternoon we were struggling to get 100. Very disappointed in the freelance players. I know everyone says not to blame freelance, but I saw one player shooting at a Flyfish…c’mon, clearly they had no idea how to defeat these bosses. 🤪
On a bright note…there was one match where we defeated the new King Salmonid!!! 😁

@@rachelskiiiiiiione of these days I’ll figure out how Discord works. I have an account but I need a “Discord for Dummies” book. Managed to score 117 and got Bronze (no idea what the cutoff was for Silver). Hoping you should have gotten Gold with that 237!!!
@@forrestegan110 was silver, but there’s a bug that gives people the incorrect reward (i got 141 and got bronze even though i surpassed 135 for gold)

damn, that score is insane! i only expected the high scores to just go up to around 195 or 200, but this is way better than that. my top score was 150, which im still really proud of because i got to evp 520 in freelance when my previous best was 260 on a gold rotation. nice work!

And yeah the scores were pretty high this time due to how good the map is. I know some other overfishers broke 260+ which is just mesmerising to watch.
Awesome! I really liked this big run, I managed to get 193 in freelance which felt amazing! One day I'd love to get over 200. Last big run I got 197 in FL.
Incredible!! Last Big Run I managed 190+ in FL too but I practically played this one in squads for the majority of it.
@@rachelskiiiiiii I also checked splatnet and I was in the top 1%! I think I might try and look at how to overfish after this!!

So happy to see this Big Run's content!! Did you record/stream any freelance gameplay of this Big Run? I'd love to see how many eggs one while trying to support a freelance crew! I often struggle to understand if I'm doing "well enough" in freelance when trying to balance clearing lessers, turfing, AND running eggs.
Thank you! I didn’t stream anything sadly cause I’ve come down with a viral illness and damn near lost my voice but I did record every single game I played. I’m debating what to do with the footage as of yet but there’s tons! I hope you enjoyed it regardless! Freelance can be tricky, especially with the weapon RNG
Wow. That was impressive. Were you on coms or did you just trust that you all knew what to do?
We had comms! I play with others without VC but with this squad we were all in VC together and they were able to give me direction and pointers as they are all much more experienced with overfishing than I am.
@rachelskiiiiiii in your case it must have "Almost No" voice chat. 🤣 Hope you are feeling better.

Amazing high score! I only managed to get 132 in fl
I managed to get lucky around 143 eggs in freelance.
Especially lucky if you did that just recently, low EVP freelancing is hell.
Best to go at it early when Big Run kicks off because you'll have a higher likelihood of being paired with people that actually know what they're doing.

@@abigail_eepy I second your comment. I got a good score the very first freelance game of Big Run, then didn't beat it again in freelance. Eventually, I teamed up with a squad (including a self demoted ringer) and got my best score.

Freelance can be tough. If you're interested in finding others to play with, I always recommend the SRS server - it's the largest Salmon Run community in the west.

Over vc, yes. Organised and planned with certain players.

Sorry, didn’t see this and I had squads booked up until the end. I’d recommend finding the community through discord or twitter though, that’s how I started!
