This is almost identical to the design I came up with but I am planning to have the release pins at the bottom so. can completely remove it to accommodate a boat cover.
The all thread rod bases are prolly stronger than those $20 aluminum ones. I might cut small pieces of shower pan lines to go under each one though. Again great job . Everything they make and sell to do this is so pricey . I'm prolly going with fish bite rod holders though. The monsters are just too expensive
Oh 1 more thing. It looks like you drilled holes through the bases for the rod holders . Smart and durable. Also thing about 1/2" rod . Very strong stuff. Good job
I just have to say this rod holder system is awesome. I can't make out what your angle is mounted to. Your saying the two are half inch, which look like threaded on both ends. Is this a piece of all thread running through a piece of aluminum tubing ? Thanks
That threaded pipe will leave a real nice rust stain down the back of the transom in a couple years. S'pose that doesn't matter anyway. WA only allows two rods a person.
You can get everything at a Plumbing supply house . Ferguson, sommerville, Noland, . Heck if you know a plumber he can prolly get you the stuff at his cost.
Now someone please come up with a diy rod holder that you don't need a welder or $2000 worth of equipment to make . To be honest again these guys are wayyy over priced fit this stuff . The holders they sell are worth maybe $10 each that's it. Thanks
Fn a. I'm a plumber and can make that no problem. Great job
Hills rod holders . I'm there . Yep $10 a piece . Perfect with the bases. Now we're talkin
Great rod holders, and you said do a great job 👍

They're just 1/2" galvanized bases for running gas pipe . You can use black too you just gotta clean em up real good and paint em.
