I hope you and Grant understand what a blessing you guys have to own/operate a successful farm. I know it is risky business, dependant on the weather. I worked on a ranch/farm for several years in S Dakota, and at the end of the day, whether I was digging fence posts for a mile, or chasing cows, or cutting/hauling hay, ir planting wheat, when I'd come in dog tired, it was a good feeling. The fresh air, always something different, the sunsets, or just touching what we did. I remember one night, the guy I worked for, called me after 10 pm and asked me to come help deliver a calf. I'd never seen one born before. All I knew, was from reading James Herriot books. The rancher/farmer told me he couldn't get the rope on the calf's leg to pull it, and needed me to do it. Mind you, I'd never seen it done before, only what I'd read. I reached into the cow, got the rope hooked, and we use the calf puller and pulled the calf out. The mother cow, seemed to get energy after the calf was born. I went home dog tired and excited what I'd just been a part of. Watching your videos, makes me long to not be behind a desk, and work a farm. If I ever came into any sizeable inheritance, I'd sure be tempted. But thanks for your videos because I seriously relive memories of those years in the 80s and early 90s when doing that.

Stupid trick I learned somewhere... when you're putting in your ear plus, reach around your head with your other arm and gently pull up and back on your ear lobe while putting in the plug... it will go in easier and deeper without using as much force or needing to twist.
You will get a better seal and more protection if it works for you!

I don't often comment on your videos but I just wanted to say I have truely enjoyed watching you and Grant become a family and grow as farmers. We have rented out our farm land since my grandfather passed away 48 years ago. No one else in the family wanted to take over farming the land although I have wished many times I had been old enough to be offered the opportunity to do so. But the land rent supported my grandmother and my aunt. Had one of us farmed the land ourselves I don't think it would have supported that family and my grandmother and my aunt. My lifelong desire to help people led me into the military then into nursing school and I have had a very rewarding career in nursing. But I remain jealous of farmers. I can't think of a better way of life that ties together your job (or profession) and your personal life than working the land. Keep up the good work, congratulations on becoming such an excellent videographer and thank you for what you do both behind the camera and behind the wheel of a tractor.

Dryland harvest has already started. Had dryland wheat make 20. Irrigated acres will be ok, but below normal because of the heat. Most irrigation used in my lifetime, which isn't a good thing. I’ve seen your various clips on pivot (irrigation systems) maintenance, but think you ought to dedicate a video exclusively on how they work. How deep are the wells? Do they ever dry up? Do you ever have to dig a deeper well? Do all of them run on gas, with a gas engine or are some electric? How expensive are they to operate? If a pivot runs for 24 hours how equivalent is that to a natural rain? Types of pivots, etc.

Not sure if you've done one yet.... or if you'll read this.... but video suggestion - full tour of the farm. Be it your parents' farm (Laura's or Grant's.... or both) or just a tour of the out buildings. Mainly the garages/shops..... I'm a sucker for shop tours at least. Would KILL for a big ol' 40x80 shop. Hell... I'd "settle" for a 30x60. My plans for when I win the lottery.... buy land, build a nice house... maybe 2500 sqft which IMO is huge (my parents, 2 sisters and myself lived in a 1700 sqft house built in the 1800s out in the country that had 1 bathroom and we survived). But then also build a 30x60 shop I'd pack full of metal fab and wood working equipment.... and then another metal building about 40x80.... 50x80 that I'd use as my gym.... with every piece of panatta equipment in there. Sigh.... out buildings are glorious. I'd probably build a 3rd massive outbuilding just to store the heavy machinery I'd just mess around in along with mowers, quads, side by sides, golf cart (to get around my compound of course). In addition to a skid steer, forklift, telehandler, scissor lift, a mid sized front loader with various attachments..... and while I wouldn't have a farm per se (maybe) I want a tractor. Just a big ass tractor. If I were to win the lottery I think I could make that all happen, haha.
    Sorry for the tangent.

What's the backstory on that? Does the Fuel-Mate only have diesel? Or maybe the Ranger actually ran out and couldn't move on its own? I didn't catch that from the narration but might have missed it.

Party hardy with friends and family. Good times at the Nebraska farm apart from a midnight duty call in the mud to a pivot watering system and then getting stuck.

Gotta say I am glad there is a guard surrounding that drive shaft. That is an accident waiting to happen. I know there is a risk with all farming but minimize it where you can.
