Great videos you have been providing. Like you, former Digidesign/Avid user that switched to RME and Cubendo. Question on outboard gear using RME TotalMix routing to print tracks, vs using Cubase 12 External FX inserts setup in Cubase studio configuration. Do you use both approaches, or specific ones for various tasks like tracking, mix, sum, etc?

I patch my gear when tracking and don’t use total mix for that. I also use hardware inserts a lot when mixing. If I’m bouncing a track through outboard, I will bring out of one channel on the track. Wong processes and then return on another input to record that result. Make sense?
