I won't be watching this one but just had to say Mrs Maguire was my Spanish teacher and lead us in choir many moons ago. I cant hear I Will Follow Him without crying. She was a truly wonderful woman who taught me so much, she was so easy to confide in and i have such lovely memories of her. I remember her daughter (possibly both) coming in to sing with us, she had a lovely family. It broke us when this happened and she will never, ever be forgotten.

Having worked as a Teaching Assistant in secondary schools for many years I am amazed by the behaviour of some of the students. When I entered the profession I never would have believed it. Thankfully nothing so awful as this has happened where I live in Jersey. Teachers have an extremely difficult job and do not get the respect they deserve. RIP

In France earlier this year, a 16 years old also stabbed to death his Spanish teacher (Ms Agnes Lasalle, 52) with a kitchen knife, and like in this case, it also happened in broad daylight during a class ... May both Ann and Agnes rest in peace and fly high 🤍

I'm a teacher and I've never forgotten this case... No one should ever go to work one morning and never return! I absolutely love my colleagues. We get each other through the hardest of times in what can be a very challenging job at times. To lose one of them in such a brutal manner (whilst doing what they loved) is just absolutely unthinkable. Imagining Ann's colleague cradling her into the next life, reminding her of all her worth, had me in floods of tears. An every day hero who should never have had to do what she did. And, those poor students who witnessed the horror unfold and now feel guilty, I feel so sad for them too. I hope this horror of a person is never released.

I'm from leeds and although it's not exactly a city with a low crime rate, I was absolutely stunned when this happened. The fact that Ann had worked at Corpus for 40 years and gave so much to society just for her life to be ended so brutally breaks my heart.

I spent my life teaching. All kinds of students with so many labels. In all my years, only ONE time did I come up against a student who actually terrified me. He made the hair on the back of my neck stand straight up. He looked THROUGH me. His eyes were cold and black. I've never seen anything like it before or since that year. He rreally was horrifying. I wrote down his name, phone #, address, as well as his parents info on a piece of paper. I handed that paper to my hubby and told him if I wound up dead or missing, check into the names on that paper. True story. Teaching can be a very scary profession. I think 20 years is not nearly enough. I know he is a kid, but his evaluations make it crystal clear. This "child" is not capable of reform.

Wow, this one got me good. 😢 The fact that Ann and her husband were thinking about retirement makes her murder even more cruel to me. It's just a tragic case in so many ways 😢. The colleague who protected Ann did a beautiful thing when she was with her. She not only protected her from her killer but she comforted her in her remaining time on earth. I know if it were me in that situation I would most likely be saying something like... "It's ok, you're going to be just fine just hang on," even if I knew it wouldn't be fine. To hold Ann, kiss her, gently stroke her head and tell her how much she meant to so many people, was much more kind and loving than I could ever say. Ann was one of those rare HUMANS that brought these feelings out in people.
The only thing I can say, because I'm not going to glorify Ann's killer is how young and unassuming this psychopath is. I was just waiting for you to say he pleaded not guilty but wudda you know, I guess he knew he was BANG TO RIGHTS! I'm glad he pleaded guilty because if a jury was to see his baby face it might have given an advantage to him. I hope he never gets out but I DO have hope that he gets the LIVING SHIT beat outta him, oh I don't know, just throwing it out there, every day.
RIP, lovely lady, Love ❤ Light🕯️ Prayers 🙏 and Peace ☮️ for you, Ann.

Absolutely heartbreaking case. I work in a SEMH school (social emotional mental health) and are given training on how to deal with situations like this. We don’t allow bags in school and all personal belongings are locked in cupboards, all pupils are scanned before entering the school. It’s completely heartbreaking that in mainstream schools this happens but cases like this makes me feel that it should be something that happens in all schools.
No one deserves to go to work one day and not return 😢
I’m resting whilst my baby naps before returning back to work tomorrow from maternity leave and this case was really close to home due to the risk of this happening in my job.

Emma, thank you for always taking the time to explain so eloquently as to why a person might self-harm. It took me so incredibly long to figure out as to why I turned to self-harm as a teen until somewhat recently (I haven't for a few years now). I could never put it into words. But you hit my reasons so spot on! I usually didn't want to unalive myself, I just wanted the pain and ugliness I felt on the inside to stop. Thank you again, Emma, you're such a sweet soul and find the words for many of us who have trouble finding them sometimes ❤❤❤

Back when I was a student at secondary school a friend of mine brought a huge knife in from home to stab a girl in our year who was horrible to our group. I remember learning about this one, it's so tragic! Coming from someone who was actively bullied by a teacher and ignored by the others as a child for being clearly very different from the other kids due to my undiagnosed autism, severe mental health problems and gender dysphoria, I would have done anything to have a teacher like Ann who was clearly loving and cared deeply for her students 💕
(Sorry that I keep asking for this but I'm really passionate about his case, I'd love for you to cover the case of James Prout, no one ever talks about that case, I've only ever found one documentary and it was just all about the killers... James Prout deserved better and I think you could do that, I'll warn you though it's heartbreaking and it stayed with me for a very long time. 💕 Also the cases of Emani Moss, Adrian Jones and Jessica Lunsford as well as the serial killers Thierry Paulin, Randy Kraft, Robert Berdella, the horrific teenage murderer, Joe Clark and the worst mother you'll ever hear of, Theresa Knorr, they're definitely ones you need to cover as well, no one talks about them really either, they are cases of true and utter evilness. It would also be really interesting if you did the Washington Snipers, John Staffen and the recently identified Joseph Augustus Zarelli, who was formerly known as "boy in the box" and "America's unknown child")

@eljay1980 aww thank you lovely! I'm actually starting to open up about my neglectful and unacceptable treatment as a child by a teacher; one of my biggest goals is spread awareness through my drag career for autistic people, especially undiagnosed autistic children within education system and how a neglectful, and in my case bullying experience by a teacher, who is meant to care and educate, can affect them for their whole life.
I'll have to check out her video on Robert Berdella, he was one of the most hideous individuals I've ever researched! I think some people can be quite robotic when telling a true crime story, which tends to put me off... I have so many cases that are rarely spoken about that I'd love Emma to cover, I just love the way Emma tells the story, she's so empathetic, which I think reminds us that this isn't fiction, it's non-fiction it really happened, and how we have to do better at helping each other, protecting the vulnerable and learning in general because only through learning I we going to get better and more effective at helping and protecting.

I'm so very sorry you suffered as a child by a teacher. Being bullied is something we never truly get over. I'm sorry you were not diagnosed with Autism as a child.
Some people can be very cruel in this world.
I remember back in my school days some children were treated different by some teachers. I'm 61 years old now. So I'm talking about a long time ago. Back when children could be hit by teachers and sent fora kaining by the headmaster of the school ( boys only got Kained)
When I look back I do think some of those kids had Autism or some were beaten at home by their parents so acted out at school. Trying to get attention at school as they didn't get any love or attention at home. It makes me want to cry when I think back to those days..

    • @nefariousdevile
      @nefariousdevile Před rokem

@@roxanamcglinchey6613aww thanks lovely! It's incredibly sad to think about, I'm 23 and I always hope today that my nieces and nephew are safe, respected and find enjoyment at school, because those were three things that I never had unfortunately... I do believe education is a gift and every child deserves it, but sometimes the school system can damage said child beyond repair, emotionally, mentally and physically, whether that's the teachers, other children or even just the makeup of systems doing. I don't believe my education years were beneficial to me, while yes I learned and without it, I wouldn't be as knowledgeable as I am, but I also wouldn't have the trauma and trust issues I have from those days either... I guess all we can do is learn and hope school will become a place that kids of all kinds, can go to learn, be safe and have fun xx

He was about to graduate!! But Emma, I totally agree with you, I wish Anne let him leave Spanish class. May be she'd be alive still. Cormick's mom could have had him officially removed from Anne's class. She knew her son was disturbed & he TELLS her about his hate for his teacher, he didn't want to be there. His mother should have immediately stepped in & moved him from that class & taken him to a psychologist. Anne truly did not deserve to die that way. Her family was right. There were so many missed opportunities, but they weren't from the students. The missed opportunities were his parents' fault.
If any student had complained, he would have been stopped, yes. But at the most he'd have been suspended or expelled. He would still be free & his hate would then shift from Anne to the student that ratted him out!! He would have found out who they were & would have stabbed them instead. He just needed a target & Anne wouldn't let him leave her class. Any student that reported him, would have a target on their back. If I were a student in that school, that's how I would think, even if he didn't know me personally. He would have found out. If this was stopped, he would get 25 years, he would still be walking the streets waiting at the school gates to stab the kid who ratted him out.

As a teacher of 20 years working in challenging schools this sent a shiver down my spine. I have for the first-time left a long term contract from a high school because I felt unsafe...all those actions Anne took I have taken and after being held hostage, surrounded by a gang and not feeling supported by the system my instinct was to go so I get to me retirement. I absolutely made the right decision.

I was in class when the news broke and we were all terrified, I remember someone saying it was a terrorist attack. My former school regularly ranks as one of the worst in Scotland (but we do rank high in teen pregnancy and crime) and we all got sent home because there was so much concern something similar would happen.

1:15:44 That’s how I feel about all people who commit pre-meditated acts of murder…no matter how young. Anyone who has that capacity to do it once, has the capacity to do it again. It’s simply not worth the risk. And really, the pain and loss suffered by victim’s families demand that people who willfully and cruelly commit murder spend the rest of their lives in prison. For me, that would be the only solace…knowing that the person who killed my loved one will at least never be free.

This is absolutely devastating. I was in actual tears throughout this video because my life career is in education. I am not a teacher but I have been in classrooms for more than a decade. I learned Chinese because I was in the Chinese program in my college, but it is actually very useful to learn in the later years. Spanish is also one of the most awesome languages to learn, especially when you will be able to use it later in life. It is so awesome to learn a language and Cormick could have benefited so much from it, if he saw the forest from the trees and decided to go against killing his teacher. There are a lot of jobs that need bilingual speaking workers especially in education right now. Its an absolute shame really. RIP Ann 💜 Too bad for that kid because instead of plotting to murder he could have done so much with his life.

  • @littletrebleclef

The knife thing is so weird to me, like I would 100% report someone carrying a knife in school. I wouldn't have reported him saying he wants to kill her cause tbh he gives me the vibes of those weirdo kids that think they're vampires or whatever a bit tapped but harmless, unless he showed me the knives and said he wanted to kill her. Super sad all around, I remember this happening, and that was the first time I thought about a student killing a teacher. It's just never that serious.

I remember this case and was horrified. My mother and Aunt are teachers, my aunt who's retired now was a teacher in a school for kids who couldn't be in mainstream school due to extreme behaviour, refusal to attend, drugs etc and I was so scared for them both going to work after this. I remember the so called 'bad' kids in school but their behavior never reached this level. I womder when hos behaviour was recognised as not quite right at home. Stabbing a pregnant woman!! Hes one evil little fxck!. On a lighter note how cute is Dolly in the background ❤❤ what a gorgeous little dog. I think she should be in every video.

i wanted to add in that i got threatened with a knife at school and told by the person holding it that i was going to be killed after school in 1994/1995 i reported it to staff and i was ignored i reported it to the head teacher of the school and got ignored and told to get back to class. i was so scared of this because of the violence i had from bullying at school so i used the school phone to call the police, when the head was told police were in the school grounds because of the report the school turned the police away and said they would deal with the problem. my folks were called into school and i was suspended for a week for informing police onto a school matter. wasn’t till many years of me leaving my school that i found out the my head was a bad person as he was fired because of sexual harassment to other members of staff but because he didn’t like the fact that i wasn’t going to allow myself to be hurt that the took the control back by removing me and saying i was to blame.

Add to the freezing temperatures that day & Nicola wearing boots & winter clothing, the under water current, she would have been pulled under in seconds. They believe her beloved dog slipped It's lead whilst Nicola was on a zoom call, went into the river & got into difficulty & she waded in to rescue it not knowing about the sheer drop.
