If I’m honest I’ve stopped watching so regularly since Michael stopped being on the show.
Nothing against you or Sam but just think it was the banter between the two of you which sold the show to me and made me come back for more.
dude same.
Me to
Same. Even the new intro music doesn’t hit the same anymore.
I still watch but definitely liked the banter. We buy and wear watches for the story as well as their beauty and mechanical wonders. My Seiko 5 Sport is all story and definitely worth more than my Daytona, (steel/gold so relatively cheap).
Same
Got to admit, the reason i subscribed, was that when Michael was on the show it had something i hadn't seen in other watch channels ... Humor and fun. All other watch channels are stuffy and serious. This channel had a relaxed vibe that made me smile. Analysis is a little to common in the CZcams watch scene. It was fun to relax and smile to Michael and Christian's dynamic, while still learning about watches.
Definitely find myself watching a lot less now, unfortunately.
You kinda nailed it. In fact it was right after I commented about how hilarious and perfect I felt their intro was that Michael left. Christian doing a spit take and Michael making a weird funny gesture, cracked me up and got me ready for a fun back and forth between friends.
I love watches but honestly watched this for Michael and the ancillary watch talk. It was almost like a funny podcast that happened to talk about watches
I honestly like a cohost. I was annoyed when Christian was gone on vacation so many times and it was just Michael. Talking about something is better when it’s with a couple people.
@@mikej5959 agreed. Another unique element not seen in most watch channels. Most channels are one person talking to the audience. It was refreshing to watch 2 hosts chatting and joking together.
Stuffy…insert Hodinkee with wife swapping. More that’s stuffy annd silent conversation in a white walker room!
He ain’t wrong, Sam took a beating in the comments. Michael is the OG as far as a wingman goes.
And I don’t know why. I think everybody was just attached to Michael and Christian I don’t think it was right.
No cohost is just kind of lame though. He’s just rushing through the topics because he doesn’t want down time. That’s why I feel like very few podcasts do well when it’s just one person. Some of them do really well not many.
I liked Mike.
Ana was an OG, yet i don´t remember if Christian ever said what happened with her
We miss both Anna & Michael because they come across as real people.
That genuine connection balances out the content & it’s hard to “manufacture”.
Indeed they were the perfect balance to Christian's douchiness.
I think you hit the nail in the head as to why we miss both Michael and Anna. They came across as ordinary people who don't live in the Hamptons, who don't travel to Europe every year, who don't pay three figures for dinner at a restaurant. In other words, they came across as people most of us can relate to. They made Christian come across as more accessible and relatable. Plus, they were both more calm and didn't talk like a 1940s Hollywood actor. They made Christian calm down too, so you could actually understand him without snorting an 8 ball first.
No offense Christian! ❤
@@astorbeijer9424 I said basically the same thing only it got deleted. I love cracking on Christian because I thought he could take it and it was all in good fun. Anna and then Michael were the perfect foil for Christian being a total (insert feminine hygiene product here), a Yin to his Yang, a Teller to his Penn. Friends being friends on camera is fun to watch.
I also would like to add that these reasons could also by why Sam wasn’t accepted by the T&H community initially. That first impression of Sam felt like a rich buddy of Christian that has the money for big watch purchases?
I have warmed too Sam more recently but it’s still not exactly the right dynamic of classic T&H
Nah yeah he’s a doiche dawg
13:22 The Micheal Answer we are all looking for.
We Love you both, We miss you Mike
No we dont , Bring Mike back . This channel is for Nepo kids and Men Who like Men now . . . . used to be great now its just LGBTQRSTUVXyz +
Thank You
Michael has 2 other channels, The Iron Snail and The Tale of The Iron Snail they just are not watch content.
Thank you and God bless you.
@@bigbodykarate6403 oh you poor poor thing, how do you survive knowing there could be man around the next corner? 😂
I get that you want to focus on the "educational aspect". But I personally loved the banter and the vibe of just 2 watch nerds talking about watches and just vibing. There's one too many educational chanels if you want to call them so imo. But then again to each their own. Just here to say I miss the dynamic which is what got me hooked to your channel!!
Agree!
yeh they have great knowledge, the conversation is the fun part, then both of them would drop little knowledge nuggets organically in discussion, i enjoyed it.
This
Exactly, I think to his point though - Christian is a strong enough host on his own to keep it real and bring me back for content. But what Christian sometimes neglects to acknowledge is that yes, there are SO many YT channels with educational horology content that is concise and professionally filmed. I come to Theo & Harris for a personal sit down with friends to talk watches and to feel "real". I don't think Michael stepping away from the channel has changed anything about the ethos of the brand. I do however find it ironic that Christian repeats his desire to film the "content he wants to film" and still reminds us that it was our comments that impacted the way they wanted to film. I don't know I'm just talking out loud, bottom line is I know how business works and I've been incredibly grateful for the dynamic Anna, Michael, & Sam have all brought to the table and I look forward to see the next level of T&H evolution. - Cal
Completely agree. I didn't come to the channel to get "educated". I came to relax and enjoy what I supposed were a couple of friends discussing watches and life. Also...I don't watch every freaking video, so please don't get upset that people haven't heard why Michael isn't on the show anymore.
What happened to Anna? That's the real question.
As a long time viewer, it's great that you had co-hosts that gave their input but it's you Christian that I tune in for with your thoughts and opinions. I always appreciate your content and look forward to what you have to say.
This!

Anna and Michael have been married for years. They have 3 children, one dog and moved to Missouri.
@@SHONUFF772 Man,is this real ?
I would just imagine Christian and Anna were in relationship….
@@takayuki.Maths.Art.ScienceAnna got a job somewhere else. She's still Christian's friend
I loved the chemistry between Christian and Michael, he was a balancing force and brought the best out of Christian, while also keeping his ego in check.
I think a monthly banter episode with Michael guest starring would be a great thing. I'm still here for the concise(ish) watch chat though.
I don’t know if you watch BBCs Top Gear in the past but I think seeing what happened to that show sorr of explains why we appreciate you and Michael’s chemistry so much. That show had millions of average viewers during the Clarkson, Hammond & May era precisely because of the combination of incredible banter and entertaining informative content.
The "Consice Educational content"of the watch industry is everywhere in youtube. This channel is special because it's like sitting with knowledgeable and funny friends and having fun. I will miss michael but I will keep supporting this channel.
I met Christian at a Tudor event at London Jewelers. He was so gracious and kind, a real human being. We talked watches and he even engaged with my client at the event. I really wish him continued success.
9 years already? Times flies man I remember when you started and it was just you, a camera and filming in the yard. I’ll be sticking around because at the end of the day, we all have our ups and downs but I feel that the content is still great man. Keep it up Christian 👍🏻
It's no longer Theo and Harris without Theo. 😪
I always thought of him as Harris tho
@@thamadflavaha! Same.
A monthly video with Michael would be perfect
I love the analysis, I just miss the laughs. It breaks it up nicely and makes it all more enjoyable. Hopefully we can have both again one day. Hey, maybe a Michael hand puppet!!😂
Christian you are nice to me. I remembered in 2019, I wanted to buy my first automatic luxury watch and reached out to you for some guidance. You responded with very helpful advice.
The two key ingredients are not critical analysis and storytelling, they are obviously theo and harris
Michael rode a sand worm into the sunset. Michael Mua’dib Usul. “Long live the watch nerds!”
If you say his name 3 times he'll come back. 😂
Anna is Chani
The way you spoke about Michael was wonderful. Happy to still be along for the ride!
People don't typically watch "news" oriented shows purely for the facts. For reviews, which are typically found by people looking into that specific watch, sure, but for your normal shows, it's not just for the facts. Those are found quicker and more efficiently in print.
A good cohost who is comfortable on camera and returns banter is the most entertaining format.
This channel was the start of my obsession with watches. It’s great how it is always evolving and the passion is still there. Keep it up Christian 👍🏼
DAMN!! That was one of the most EPIC on-camera meltdowns EVER! Reminiscent of Bogart in "The Caine Mutiny." Dude was on the verge of tears the whole time, because he's just now realizing how screwed his channel is without Michael or Anna or SOMEBODY to humanize him. He thinks he's being "educational", but most of the time it just feels like a humblebrag. And even after all of that, he was somewhat defiant and condescending to the end. LEGENDARY video.
You’ve got to get outside asap
Christian, Thanks for the honesty. That's why I have been a fan from the beginning and will continue to be an avid viewer.
I’ll miss Michael, but I tune in for your opinions Christian. Your eccentric personality is something that it so captivating. Good job being the stability in this channel.
I love that you mention a vintage piece towards the end. I love learning about them.
Seemed like in the comments section we all said Sam was vastly improving and doing a great job. Awesome guy! You do a fantastic job as well
Sam definitely got shit on in the comments at first... but he was surely growing on people by the end.
He annoyed me a bit at first, but not enough to make me stop watching, and I'm sure you gotta get use to being on camera. He was kinda nervous and jittery at the beginning, but mainly, I think he didn't bring enough perspective and opinion to the table. He kinda mirrored Theo too much. Michael was a better contrast.
Great job addressing some very personal and difficult comments. With 160,000 followers there will always be those out there that somehow get off throwing out negative remarks. Much respect to you Christian.
Keep up the great work Christian, been a fan for a long time my man!
Looking forward to watching the channel grow into something new while continuing to share your unique insight. Good Luck Christian.
Thank you for taking the time to answer these questions. I am one of the people who do miss Michael. I appreciate your desire to make great content, and I'll keep watching just for your perspective. But I do hope we get to see you and Michael together occasionally. As for your previous explanations about his departure, I guess some of us don't see every video as much as we may try.
Great video, love the transparency. Thanks for the content
Not gonna lie, when I don't see Michael in the thumbnail, I skip the video. The dynamic between you two is what makes the video great.
Nailed it.
Michael is life ❤ 😂
The iron snail
@@zjebeusjsbbdj6310 that's great and all, but this show was great with both Christian and Michael. Their different pov on how to make the video was great
Love you Christian, what what me hooked on your channel was the videos with you and Anna, Michael, and your pops. Forgot the name of the series but ya’ll would open a bottle of wine and just talk
Great video thanks for clearing all that up appreciate the honesty
I was thinking the other day about how your content has matured and that I enjoy your current solo videos. I wasn’t going to mention it but watching this, gave me the urge to share that thought.
Plenty of viewers that say nothing appreciate the work you create.
I was thinking the same thing but couldn't think of how to phrase it. Well said!
I like the deep dives too. I also wish there was some banter but it doesn’t have to be all light. You can do both. I think they did sometimes. Significant Watches, for instance. But probably not a great example since they didn’t get a ton of listens.
Thanks for the Q&A. I did like the energy between you and Michael
Christian, as a long time viewer but newer commenter, I had to share my thoughts with you after this video. I think your videos are interesting, inquisitive, and offer a very honest dialogue throughout. Whether that’s with a co host or solo, listening to your videos have become a part of my morning routine. While I understand why you’ve had to address a few points of criticism, I personally don’t like indulging with the loud minority. Granted, I’m not a shareholder in the channel, but that’s just my viewpoint. If you keep making videos, I’ll be here to support. Will also be looking to add a strap from your shop for my Longines calendar chronograph here in the near future. Keep up the great content!
Nick
I really loved that this channel was not only focused on watches, but also on funny talk, like a podcast...to say your talks with micheal were not educational is just wrong, they were both, educational and entertaining! I hope you continue the series with michael. And if you want to grow the channel, you have to talk about others things as well. The watch world is not big enough, but if you spice up the channel with funny, podcast-like content , it has more mass appeal.
Honestly I do miss Anna and I do miss Michael. BUT ITS YOUR CHANNEL! Keep doing you Christian! From an entrepreneur’s perspective I totally understand getting back to the core of the business. I enjoyed this video, can’t wait for future content 👌
I enjoyed this video. Continued success to you, Christian!
I'm glad we had this conversation LOL
All of the people asking about Michael, it looks like he's got his own channel (The Iron Snail). I stumbled across it last week.
His videos on that channel are such better quality even though I’m not interested in denim etc. Makes you wonder what he could have done for T&H if he had been able to take a similarly creative approach.
@@MS-tg6hc agreed, I couldn't care less about denim but find myself enjoying his videos.
Michael was always into clothing more than watches, and I think we're all grateful that he was a part of this channel. I really believe (if) you want it, you can find the right watch person as a point-counterpoint to your opinions, the natural banter can be there. It needs to be someone you have history with, or have known in the watch world for a long time though.
I appreciate you being honest and forthcoming about your channel! No need to apologize to us, your audience, for what you want YOUR channel to be, or for the advertising, or having to explain the absence of your co-host. YOU are the host, they are extras. Ignore the haters, continue to be the genuine article you are. I love your channel either way, Michael or not, Sam or not, educational or not. There are plenty of other channels out there to fill other niches. You fill YOUR niche. I’m going to join your Patreon now just because of this video. God bless you Christian!
BUT… What happened to Anna???
she ran off with Harris
She was eaten by wolves. Or maybe just moved on to something else like people do.
She was discontinued by Rolex
Guys and Girls - things move on - people move on - give Christian a break - support him while he regroups and gets back ontrack - this guy is awesome
I actually am glad Michael spread his wings. I rather enjoy his channels as well, especially his informative videos on quality clothing. Christian, keep up the good work, keep growing and evolving, and showing us that passion. Thanks.
Thanks for the info
The dislike that Sam got was totally unwarranted. He’s fine and brings a different flavor to T&H. I like Michael but I didn’t think he would be gone forever or anything.
Yeah - he really tried. However, he also isn't/wasn't really a watch guy and was asked to join the channel and help out with LMF because he lost his pharma job. He was still a lovely guy though, and really pulled through
Christian, thank you for this candid video.
thanks for this, it was very transparent and gives us insight as to why changes are being made.
Christian, I have enjoyed your channel for several years now. As I am an old guy, I really enjoyed your segments with your Dad on Liquor run. ( Wine geek too) I absolutely share your passion for vintage watches. Your taste in vintage is impeccable, as evidence by your offerings. Your story telling is what keeps me watching. Stay cool dude!
My favourite period was the Rant T&H days, so happy to see you alone (though I certainly didn't hate the videos with Michael). Good luck with your channel man!
Great vid, Christian! Frequent viewer who tries to stay away from comments sections on social media platforms, but appreciate it when creators are receptive to feedback and genuine/unapologetic about who they are. This is your channel, and you should do whatever tf works for you. Tune out if you don't like it.
Christian, I'm an old guy who's been into watches for a while. Whatever You are doing, You have my support as I have always enjoyed your energy and enthusiasm. Onward and upwards and more success to You in the future.
Christian, you be you! You are genuine and honest. You also are extremely knowledgeable about vintage watches. Ignore the doubters and haters and yourbusiness will be fine!
Thanks for this, Christian, I appreciate the candor and the directness, as always!
As one of the people who really appreciated the videos with Michale and who've been left scratching our heads a little since he left, I can say that I have seen your comments (both here and on the Zero, I think) about it, so I eventually understood what happened, but that didn't happen till later (or just didn't reach me, because I don't regularly read all comments on videos), and even so, I was personally thrown by how abruptly and unceremoniously it happened. Maybe this is true for others as well. Perhaps I'm alone with this, but I would've been happy to see a video specifically about this, saying goodbye, reflecting on your history together on the channel etc.
Oh, and a last thing - I definitely didn't mind the banter at all, I thought it was hilarious :D, but I didn't feel like I wasn't informed or educated or that my perspective was not challenged. On the contrary: what I appreciated so much about your videos together was that all of these things happened, plus there was such a great, relaxed, funny, honest and kind atmosphere around it.
That said, I'm definitely hanging around, because I still very much appreciate the unique and interesting perspective you bring to the watch world, I'm excited to see the direction your channel develops in, and I wish you all the very best for this new chapter.
Great episode. I appreciate you covering these topics and questions. By the way, I tune in for Christian.
Loved Michael but I really appreciate your expertise and insight. I’m for sure not going anywhere.
“Why do you review your own watches?” Because they’re cool, interesting, and they’re for sale. ‘I’m not a businessman; I’m a business, man!’
You are a generous person. Business man by accident. Keep sharing your passion, educating and elevating us. We are not living in a world where generosity gets rewarded. In fact, we're getting used and often abused as generous givers. We just have to live with it and keep moving on. Kudos!
Thanks for the honesty and being straight up. Much appreciated. Have no problems with the adds. Everyone needs to make a living.
BOOM!!! watch fam
I've been into every evolution, I'll be into the future too.
Long time fan and critic of the show but ultimately I still love this channel. Keep making good content, Christian
Can’t you pay Micheal more to keep him in this channel!
About time you clarified this. Thank you.😊
I hope to see Michael and you back together again once in a while.
Christian, your shows are among the best on CZcams. As a watch lover, a wine lover, a guitar lover and a general lover of quality vintage goods, you are nailing it. Thank you and please keep going. P.S. I am also on the hunt for the right reverso.
Hi Christian, love the channel, I do miss Michael and your dad, with a nice bottle of red wine, please bring them both back, as they complete you ✊
This was one of the realest vids in a min. Thank u Christian
The people that enjoy your content and videos are the people they’re made for. Keep going and those who appreciate you will keep watching.
Thank you Christian!
Keep creating content and I will keep watching - thank you.
very nice, thanks for that
Christian you’ve evolved into a well spoken, less aloof, entrepreneur. Very proud of your success and your ability to project your thoughts and beliefs. You’re A-Ok in my book amigo!
I enjoyed both Anna and Michael but at the end of the day, nothing beats just listening to Christian talk about watches solo.
Solid content regardless, please do carry on!
Christian, you are doing a wonderful job on your channel and retail business! Keep up the great content! The world needs more business owners that have your passion. Have been and will continue to be a fan.
Thanks! Eric
Got to respect Christian for giving it straight to everyone.
I miss you bantering with one of the guys, especially Michael. 😊 the problem is that your following has been based on the fun side of things created when you have a cohost, in my humble opinion. I used to search for your posts, get excited to see you guys having fun while talking watches. Now I watch when you show up on my feed. And it’s good content still, but it’s very similar now to many channels out there. You’ve lost that special sauce. I say this will love, Bro. 😊 and to be clear i do like you 😂. Id have a beer with you.
Missing Michael....
This was my favorite video in a long time
Loved the video. Stay true man. Your content and POV is what has always made this channel successful. Keep it up!
Hi Christian, I've always liked both side of the content. As another vintage dress watch preferer, I like to listen to your take on more unusual pieces both new and vintage.
It's great. Thank you for the content.
I’ve watched every video from day 1. I just want to say thanks. I always smile when a new one comes out.
Christian Being consistent and the first voice of your firm makes you and your firm credible!! Keepup the good work.
Keep up the good work Christian. There will always be the haters and the jealous types. You’ve got a loyal audience.
I am here for the analysis 😊 ,
To be fair, Christian. I think most people ask "What happend to Michael" because the channel took on a podcast feel with both information and entertainment. Then, one day Michael is gone and Sam is in without any type of good-bye "episode" or anything of the like. We've always loved the channel but it also felt like T&H as a company was diversifying a bit with both the new podcast feel and what seemed like a partnership between you two and the marketing firm that was mentioned a couple times.
Dude, we like you…even without Michael. Keep up the good work
I will continue listening
Appreciate that you didn't self-promote these factors but they are very much a part of your channel: intellect, excellent vocabulary delivered in a natural way (see prior point), and sensible humor woven into the conversation routinely.
I miss Micheal.
Great video! Been watching since day one. Miss Anna, Michael and for better or worse Sam. Keep up the great work Jersey boy.
Keep up the great work Brah & do your best and forget the rest 🤙🏽🤙🏽🤙🏽
Would like to see Michael on the channel even if it’s much less frequent.
I was literally wondering about what happened to Michael just yesterday 😂
Kudos for your honesty and your integrity in what you believe. Bravo!
Man, real talk! Mad respect for you sir.
