What’s sad is that there’s really no winning in this series if you’re a magical girl.
It’s one thing to be good in a fight and be able to hold your own against another magical girl or witch.
It’s another battle entirely to stay sane and keep going forward and find the motivation to continue, and considering that Kyubey specifically chooses very young girls and it’s canon that your strength and magical ability is dependent on your emotional state. The older you get, the weaker you become.
It’s also important to mention that the witches aren’t just plot points and evil monsters to keep the plot moving. The witches the girls die against are symbolic of the problems they face and the flaws they weren’t able to overcome.
Mami may act mature, but she is also childish. So she died against a misshaped and lumpen doll that can turn into a clown; a girl who never grew up.
Sayaka managed to best most of the witches she faced, but the one that signalled the downwards spiral for Sayaka, was one who is entirely black and white, much like her once idealistic and simple world view.
Kyoko dies to Sayaka’s witch due to their narrative parallels and tie with one and another.
Homura struggles against a witch who is noted to be a “fool that spins around in circles” and is made of clockwork, calling back to her time travel and refusal to give up. The witch mocking her attempts.
That's why I think the theme is endless battle and another one "what're we fighting for" there's a lot of magical girls that literally regretted their wishes and if you do what're you truly fighting for ,yes you save people but for every person you save 10 more could have been eaten by another witch,it's a world THATS fucked by the incubator scheme
While it is canon that older magical girls are often weaker, that seems to be more of a general trend than a hard-and-fast rule. In spinoff materials, there are magical girls in their 20s+ who are average to very strong. (Yachiyo is 20 iirc and there's even a woman in her 40s in Magireco too, who isn't pathetically weak or anything).
Being a magical girl is a death sentence, but it doesn't have to be a horrible life. The girls who come out the healthiest are the ones who have a close, supportive group of allies, and those who use their wish to do something useful for themselves because they want to (saving their own lives or empowering themselves, saving a friend/family member from death). When Mami says to wish for something because you want to, I think she means "don't wish for anything in hope it will get you validation from anyone else". And also to word your wish carefully, so that it can't be monkey's-pawed (the eventual wish Madoka makes is long and highly specific). You want the big group so you can take on witches together, grieve together when one of you dies without making too much of a dent in numbers, and share Grief Seeds.

Yeah, they don't know that they'll become witches, they only know think that they won't be able to use magic if it's completely tainted and they later think they'll die, not hatch a witch/turn into a witch

The only way to beat Madoka Magica is to have three other friends that can become magical girls and wish for the power to harvest, the power to convert, the power to manifest and the power to create any barrier, then create a barrier surrounding your city to stop energy from coming in and going out, then harvest the impurities built up in their soul gems, then convert them into magic and use that magic to manifest an automatic purification system that will purify the soul gems of all magical girls in the city. Sorry Magical Girls from the outside, the amount of impurities in the world is too much for the automatic purification system to function and the universe need witches to survive

I think you can defeat the Madoka Magica system if you wish for "I wish for the soul gems to purify themselves without the need the of greef seeds" or "I wish for unlimited omnipotence through which I can change the laws and principles of the universe as I want".
For the first one you’d only be delaying the inevitable since magical girls lose the ability to resist becoming witches as they get older. For the second having infinite knowledge would lead you to knowing about the inevitable death of the universe but lack the ability to actually do anything about it which would cause you to fall into despair and become a witch.
No the only winning move is not to play.

Besides, some invisible power (my wish) will purify the gems of the soul gems and turn even the little darkness that appears into energy even in adult magical girls.
2) This wish will allow me to change the universe and the way it works, just like Madoka's wish. I could make Madoka Magica's universe work on the principle of our world, or have an infinite source of energy, or at the least, work on the principle of Madoka's rewritten world (where magical girls don't become witches, but have to fight wraith).

I’m pretty sure the reason why they did that one first is because madoka magica really could’ve only had one ending.
And magical girl site had way more problems in it then madoka magica
magical girl site is like more apocalyptic/blunt in its dark tones? in the anime it's clear that the magical girls focus on survival more than anything, making it more interesting for a "how to beat" video. In Madoka Magica, the characters are mostly helpless or just gave up. It emphasises on the horror and shock of the situation in later episodes (unlike in magical girl site where it's obvious from the start that the administrators were evil monsters), and focuses on its plot and character development. i have no idea if this makes sense but this is how i interpret it. magical site site is like a zombie apocalypse survival thing while madoka magica is whimsical fantasy with a twist of hopelessness and despair. (might have went off on a tangent, oh well)

Madoka magica is about survival too.. jus more complex and so much better written than mg site, for example, once you contract; it's a unspoken rule to be sworn into secrecy to never tell anyone at all about being a puella magi/magical girl or even the existence of puella magi

None of the characters are "mostly" helpless or jus gave up.. are we somehow forgetting homura, looping time 100 times; so much emphasis on 100? kyoko? madoka?
Even then, with sayaka and mami, and in general; it's what make the characters so human, realistic, complex, and heartbreaking (unlike the robotic, unrealistic characters in mgs)
But yeah, right, you would be completely fine and living your best, joyful life being a puella magi in madoka in it's harsh and destructive/exploitive circumstances and being betrayed
They're fighting for their lives and other people's lives, risking their own lives, on a daily basis by either fighting with themselves, other puella magi, or witches (aka curses/cursed beings), especially, and so much emphasis on homura
Besides that, they will become the very same cursed abominations they were sworn in secrecy to fight against and destroy for the sake and of mankind
They are even forced to keep fighting for their lives cause a soul gem will gradually curse (negative emotions; despair) itself with cursed energy/magic if you don't use your magic or purify it at all

If we were to base the girls on skill/power level here's where I would place them:
1: Mami. Despite her guns having a semi slow casting speed she makes up for this with her skill in using ribbons to bind enemies. She's also very sneaky with how she attacks other magical girls. When she was fighting Homura she exploited the weakness of her power thus putting them on an equal playing field without either of them damaging each other. In another timeline she one shots kyoko breaking her soul gem
2: Homura. Despite her ability to stop time and her shield able to protect against direct attacks her major limitation is she doesn't have her own weapon to attack back and thus has to rely on weapons from the human world.
3: Madoka. Depending on the form she's in Madoka's arrows can stretch for miles and can deal varying damage to a target. During the fight with Walpurgis it was noted by Kyubey that Madoka ended her in one hit. By the final episode of the show we see her able to send her arrows through various timelines and universes but not to destroy but instead to heal.
4: Sayaka. As a swordsman she's very skilled at close range combat along with her ability to self heal as shown in the spinoff series Magia Record. Her limitation is that she can get easily overwhelmed with bombs but this was during a time she was fighting a witch and not homura. We also see that she's capable of holding her own but we don't have enough information on how she would fair in a 1v1 if we don't include that fight with Holy Mami.
5: Kyoko. Similar to Sayaka she relies on direct hits to deal damage but what isn't in the show but is in the Books is that Kyoko can make copies of herself to fight. Her chain moves also take a lot of energy to sustain.
In terms of their witches that's another story:
1: Kriemhild Gretchen (Madoka). Unlike other witches She roots herself into a planet and spreads her "mercy" all over it. Consuming all life. Kyubey says that with her power level she could end the world in 8 days but if Homura was to keep reversing time enough it would've taken a few hours if not minutes.
2: Homulily (Homura). We don't know the exact power level nor true Size of This witch but what we do know is that with her time manipulation powers she might be able to reset time all the way back to the big bang.
3: Oktavia (Sayaka). This witch actually puts up a fight but her healing is non existent. When kyoko slices off her arm she's naturally in shock but doesn't regenerate it back like how she did when she was a magical girl. She fights using train pieces.
4: Ophelia (Kyoko). In the videogame Madoka Portable she fights by charging at a target with her spear and making copies of herself. Other than that she's not much of a threat to most magical girls.
5: Candeloro (Mami). In the videogame Madoka Portable she mostly uses her ribbions to fight as well as use a weaker version of Trio Finale. She relies on her familiars to fight for her and would hide inside of them in order to avoid direct combat.

She blocked an ENTIRE TIRO FINALE with only her swords? Even after one of her arms got ripped clean off?? I know that Magia Record is a different timeline, but even at that, there’s still Rebellion, where Sayaka was able to prevent Homura from time jumping and even was able to summon her doppel? Once again, timeline differences and the whole angel thing may have affected her, but I still wouldn't say she's the weakest. I genuinely think her and Kyoko are tied, at least.

TBH I thought Mami was the villain at first because she was too nice and just so happens to be showing the girls everything she knows when we just met her? I was like "what is she up to?" my theory was wrong of course.
Also Sayaka brought everything on herself. Hitomi did nothing wrong.
Kyubey is an interesting villain because he has a point saying no one thinks farmers are bad for harvesting chickens so they can last for the winter.

Actually, when their first encounter with mami, the witch wasnt defeated. It actually ran away. The witch later on WAS the witch that when the girls encountered mami.
My man called Mami one of he most dumbest magical girl... But still she was so happy when she heard that Madoka would become a magical girl with her. Filling her happiness and knowing she isnt gonna be alone ever again. But ofc this makes here lose focus. If she was alone she wouldev killed the witch easily. She knows the fact that even if you have an advantage against an opponent you still need to keep up your guard and never look down on them. But in that scene you could tell she was over her head.

Your judgements on Mami are quite vulgar. Homura and Mami are very likely enemies. Think about it logically: Mami is ignorant all she knows is if she doesn't fight witches people will die and if she doesn't collet grief-seeds bad things will happen to her(she never finds out that she would become a witch if her soul gem became too tainted due to her dying). Mami is the protector of Mitakihara City that is made known by Kyubey and Kyoko, insinuating that magical girls are territorial and it makes sense because if there was a high fluctuation of magical girls there wouldn't be enough grief-seeds to go around resulting in a war between magical girls. Not to mention Homura tried being on good terms with Mami before and each time it ended in disaster. So the beef between Homura and Mami made sense. Mami's death was caused by her own overconfidence (although in her defense she was viewed as a veteran; we only saw her in combat a few times but she had been fighting witches much longer). The way you described Kyoko being defeated by Sayaka was also flawed lowkey (lol I'm sorry). Kyoko has much more experience than Sayaka- I mean damn had Sayaka been a magical girl for a week before she tried to fight Kyoko??? Your argument on asymmetrical warfare was interesting but we have to look at facts. Kyoko is has way more combat experience there is no debating on that, in combat a magical girl's soul gem rests somewhere on their body (Mami's was in her hair but my rebuttal remains the same), Sayaka couldn't land one blow on Kyoko during the fight in the alley (literally not even one), and what kinda of distraction would Madoka make?? Would she throw a rock or something lmaooo. Not to mention Homura would intervene if she found Madoka in any danger stopping the battle, and because she had an alliance with Kyoko its unlikely Homura would fight Kyoko, furthermore based off Kyoko's character she would respect Madoka for helping her friend. Lastly, to shatter your whole entire argument on the battle between Sayaka and Kyoko, both of them found out at the same time that a magical girl's soul is inside the soul gem. That's a lie. Kyoko found out first because Sayaka was taking a ride on the back a dump truck when Kyubey gave his little explanation, Sayaka had no idea of what happened.
I find the show so perfectly designed and that's all made possible by the Incubator because he is the pusher of the show. He is a master manipulator. He was NEVER on the side of magical girls or humans. Not expressing what exactly happens to magical girls gave him the upper hand with each girl because all of them were left in the dark. The way he made it seem was you make a wish with me you have anything you want all you have to do is fight witches. None of them asked what are witches or where they came from, the Incubator put all the shine and glimmer of making a wish in one hand while hiding the fact magical girl's souls are no longer in their body's, they need grief-seeds to not turn into witches. Another thing that makes it so awesome is that magical girls use magic just to maintain their body's so even if they decided to not fight they would still turn into witches it was an endless cycle. Girl makes wish --> turns into magical girl --> Magical girl uses magic --> magical girl needs grief-seed --> magical girl fights witch --> magical girl gets grief-seed to purify soul gem --> {AFTER USE} grief-seed makes a witch --> magical fights witch --> magical girl needs grief-seed --> magical fights witch... If your not Sayaka you would fall into the never ending trap and become a powerful magical, unknowingly, serving the most evil-- i mean logical cat in the universe. Can't wait for Walpurgisnacht rising movie :)
